MY PRINCE HUSBAND HAS SEVEN WIVES AND I AM HIS FAVOURITE!
Chapter 250: It was under fire
Fu Jing Rong said nothing.
Dr. Liang sat back slightly and observed him.
"You’re still running on sheer willpower."
Fu Jing Rong finally glanced at him. "Is that a diagnosis?"
"It’s a warning," Dr. Liang replied. "Now—"
His eyes flicked to Fu Jing Rong’s abdomen.
"How’s the wound on your stomach?"
Fu Jing Rong’s expression shifted slightly.
He looked down as if he had just remembered it.
The old injury.
A shard of steel had pierced him there in the crash.
He hadn’t paid it much attention—too preoccupied with the overwhelming need to find her.
He pulled up his shirt.
Dr. Liang let out a small, sharp breath.
There it was.
A thick, jagged scar running along his left side.
The skin around it looked strained, the stitching had long dissolved, but the wound hadn’t entirely healed.
It looked angry. Raw.
It pulsed faintly with each of Fu Jing Rong’s breaths.
Dr. Liang reached forward without asking and examined it gently.
"You’ve been bleeding here," he muttered.
"It’s fine."
"It’s not fine," Dr. Liang snapped. "You’re lucky you didn’t open it back up again with the way you’ve been moving around."
Fu Jing Rong winced faintly under his touch—but didn’t stop him.
Dr. Liang grabbed a fresh dressing pack and began cleaning the area methodically.
"You shouldn’t be on your feet. You should be resting. Monitored."
Fu Jing Rong closed his eyes for a second.
"She needs me."
Dr. Liang paused.
He looked at him again—really looked.
And for the first time since he had known him, he saw not the cold, distant Movie King... not the ruthless heir of the Fu family empire.
He saw a man holding himself together by a thread.
Dr. Liang said nothing more.
He dressed the wound carefully and professionally.
"You’ll need antibiotics," he said after a while. "And your vitals need to be monitored for at least the next seventy-two hours."
Fu Jing Rong nodded once.
Dr. Liang stood.
He was about to leave when he paused at the door and looked back.
"Don’t lose yourself before she wakes up."
Then he left him there—alone once more in that quiet room, the beeping of machines echoing between them like steady, mechanical heartbeats.
Fu Jing Rong looked down at the woman lying on the bed.
Still sleeping.
Still so breathtaking.
Still his whole world.
He leaned forward slightly, brushing her fingers with his again.
"I’ll hold on," he whispered. "But you better wake up soon, Hua Jing... or I really will fall apart."
...
In such a short amount of time, the situation inside Jinlai Medical Center had completely changed!
The once-reputable hospital was now flipped upside down!
There was no other way to describe it except for one word—chaos!
Absolute and utter chaos!!!
Nurses were running all over the halls in a panic!
Some of the doctors looked ghostly pale as they clutched sheets of paper in trembling hands!
Each glance at the documents only drained more color from their faces!
The nurses’ station was in total disarray!
Phones were ringing off the hook!
One nurse tried to silence the phone in front of her—only for the one beside it to start blaring again!
Ring! Ring! Ring!!!
Dr. Zhang, the head of the Internal Medicine Department, looked like he had aged twenty years in twenty minutes!
His hair, once neatly combed, now hung limp and completely white.
His usually pristine office looked like a battlefield—papers scattered everywhere, unanswered calls flashing on his phone screen, and a cup of tea gone cold, forgotten on his desk!
He had once been a proud man.
Respected. Feared.
Now, he was just a hollow shell of what he used to be.
His phone wouldn’t stop ringing!
One call after another!
He didn’t even bother answering anymore.
He had picked up ten calls in the last fifteen minutes, and all of them had been the same—
"We are suing your hospital!!!"
Lawsuits were flying in from everywhere!!!
And more were coming!
Dr. Zhang clutched the edge of his desk as if it was the only thing anchoring him to this world.
How?
How had things changed this drastically in a single day?!
There was no explanation!
No sense to be made!
And outside... things were even worse.
A sea of reporters had formed in front of the hospital entrance!
Cameras! Microphones! Boom poles and flashing lights!!!
They were all there—standing their ground—waiting to pounce!
Every single one of them had received the same anonymous tip.
Jinlai Medical Center, the hospital that had housed Hua Jing and Fu Jing Rong after their near-fatal accidents a year ago, was under fire!
That hospital that had once been praised as the healing cradle of the stars—
Now looked like the center of a storm!
After the incident last year, Jinlai had exploded in popularity.
Patients had come pouring in!
Investors had lined up!
Why?
Because Hua Jing and Fu Jing Rong were here!
But now?
Now their faces were filled with disgust.
With betrayal.
With rage!!!
Jinlai Medical Center had gone from hero to villain in the blink of an eye...
And no one could stop the bleeding!
The reporters had received a tip from an anonymous person who had claimed that during the one year that Hua Jing was here, she had been treated horribly by Dr Zhang and the other nurses who should have been in charge of taking care of her!
Many people could not believe their ears but the tip had come with evidence in terms of photos and voice notes and other materials including a CCTV footage!
Under the video they anonymous person had written; TOP STAR HUA JING WAS STOLEN! FROM THE HOSPITAL WHILE THE NURSES AND DOCTORS WERE BUSY GOSSIPING! IS THIS THE WAY TO TREAT OUR GODDESS?
In the video, someone could be saying pushing a gurney out of the hospital without any protective gear.
The person himself was wearing a dark mask so his face could not be seen on the cameras but the person who was lying on that bed, everyone knew.
That was! That was!
None other than Hua Jing!
