My Princess Holds Superpowers
Chapter 1607: Suddenly Busy
An Ning shook her head, "I’m afraid I’ll have to trouble Brother Lu to wait here a little longer."
An Ning knew that An Yu couldn’t decide whether he would leave; it all depended on An Bingfeng.
She had spoken clearly; if he agreed to An Yu’s return, she would wait for him here. If he disagreed, with his power, she couldn’t do anything about it anyway.
Yet An Ning was still puzzled; who really wanted to take An Bingfeng’s life?
Though the poison he was afflicted with wasn’t immediately lethal, recovering wasn’t something that could happen overnight. Even if the poison were neutralized, the physical wounds would still be significant.
"I’m fine." Brother Lu said.
She might never know that having this moment alone with her was a privilege he had longed for.
March’s weather was already somewhat hot, especially now with the sun blazing down.
The breeze in the pavilion brought a touch of coolness to the hot weather.
An Ning and Brother Lu sat waiting in the pavilion, one person on each side, far apart without any particular reason.
Silently, she waited for someone far away, while the person in front of her waited only for her.
As the seconds ticked by, An Yu still hadn’t appeared, and An Ning had already given up.
An Bingfeng was truly heartless.
After all, the Yan family was once his wife, but now, he wouldn’t even give An Yu a chance to explain to Yan personally.
"Ningning..."
Sikong Wuyou had rushed back upon hearing news of An Ning’s arrival.
Though he was utterly exhausted, seeing An Ning filled him with newfound energy.
As soon as An Ning saw Sikong Wuyou, the displeasure on her face vanished instantly, and she went to greet him.
"Did you come back especially for me?" She asked, looking up at him.
Sikong Wuyou merely smiled and nodded.
An Ning said, "If you’re really that busy, you don’t have to worry about me. Go ahead and take care of your matters. I’m just here to look around; I’ll be leaving soon."
Seeing Sikong Wuyou’s clearly exhausted face, An Ning felt a pang of heartache.
"It’s not that urgent, and besides, nothing is more important than you." Sikong Wuyou replied.
An Ning smiled, feeling sweet inside, and the gloomy emotions from An Bingfeng and An Yu dissipated instantly.
"Let’s go have a meal." Sikong Wuyou took An Ning’s hand.
Looking at the sky, it was already mid-afternoon, and An Ning didn’t know when he last ate.
But she didn’t ask further; Sikong Wuyou led her, and she followed.
Behind her, Brother Lu watched An Ning being led away by Sikong Wuyou and smiled faintly.
Yet in that smile, there was a hint of bitterness.
At the table, An Ning saw Sikong Wuyou eating voraciously for the first time and realized he must have been starving today.
Or perhaps he hadn’t had a proper meal in days.
Because the exhaustion on his face said it all.
"Why have you been so suddenly busy these past few days? What’s going on? Can you tell me?" An Ning asked.
"It’s about An Bingfeng." Sikong Wuyou replied between bites.
"Hmm?" An Ning didn’t quite understand.
