Then it looked at Kai.

Kai wasn’t looking at the panel.

He was looking at the administrator.

Without the smile. Without visible analysis on his face. Without anything but the full attention of someone who has decided what they’re going to do and is calculating when.

The administrator closed the panel.

"Four simultaneous abilities," it said. "That’s—"

Kai lunged.

It wasn’t the same start as the previous combat — without the assessment jab, without the direct shoulder, without any of the patterns the administrator had cataloged over Kai’s fifty-six Chapters of existence in Aethon.

It was different.

Right knee to the administrator’s solar plexus — not to the side, to the center, the point that in a sanctioned martial arts tournament is forbidden because direct impact to the solar plexus with enough force disrupts autonomic nervous system function.

Qi in the knee from the first movement.

The administrator raised its arm for the block.

Kai changed in the air — the knee became the foot, the arrival angle dropped fifteen degrees, the impact point shifted from the solar plexus to the administrator’s hip joint.

The foot connected.

The joint gave way in the direction it wasn’t designed for.

The administrator went to the ground on one knee.

Kai was already on the next strike.

Kai didn’t wait for the administrator to recover.

Heel to the Achilles tendon of the right leg — the point that immobilizes any bipedal being regardless of power level because tendon function isn’t about strength but mechanics.

The administrator dodged it by lifting its foot.

Kai used the administrator’s dodge.

The lifted foot meant weight on a single leg. Weight on a single leg meant the center of gravity over one point.

He pushed that point.

Palm to the chest — not Resonant Impact, direct force, using the administrator’s imbalance instead of seeking the core.

The administrator went two meters back.

"Interesting change of style," the administrator said, regaining position.

Kai didn’t respond.

Kai didn’t dodge any of the three.

His right fist closed — Qi concentrated in the knuckles, in the minimum contact area, the newly unlocked Penetrating Strike.

He struck the left column.

The column deflected.

It didn’t dissolve — it changed trajectory, the impact of the Qi-laden fist changing the vector of the administrator’s energy like a baseball glove changes a ball’s trajectory.

The left column went toward the wall.

His left fist struck the center column.

Same physics. The center column went to the ceiling.

The right column arrived before Kai could prepare the third strike.

He took it on his left shoulder.

The shoulder went numb.

He kept going toward the administrator.

Kai used Qi Step on the first floor point he deliberately activated — the pressure trap launched him upward.

In the air, with no surface, he launched his right fist toward the ceiling where the gravity trap point was active.

The Penetrating Strike touched the gravity point.

The point’s gravity field inverted from the contact — not by system design, by the physics of Qi transmitted through the administrator’s material that the labyrinth used.

Kai fell upward.

Toward the ceiling.

Feet on the ceiling — Qi Step active.

He ran three steps across the ceiling above the administrator.

He launched himself from the ceiling downward.

Knee to the center of the administrator’s back — the point of the spinal column that in bipedal beings bears the weight of everything above it.

With gravity added to the leap from the ceiling.

The administrator went to the ground.
