A long, thin sound seemed like something was probing into the keyhole.

Luna Lancaster was startled by the sound; she had just escaped from death herself, having framed so many people, she was terrified of someone seeking revenge. So when the nurse left, she deliberately asked the nurse to lock the door from the inside, unless she crawled out of bed with her injured leg to open it, it couldn’t be unlocked from the outside.

"Who is it?" Luna instinctively called out.

At that moment, the person outside managed to unlock the door and enter.

"It’s me, don’t be afraid."

The person entering wore a black mask, with heavy bangs covering the forehead, only a pair of eyes visible.

"Sis?" Luna recognized Sheryl Lancaster’s voice. "What happened to you?"

"My face was burnt," Sheryl walked over. "Dear sister, I know you fell from the upstairs because of me, and I was scared to death."

Recalling the scene from that day, Luna felt a chill; she had truly brushed with the underworld, almost not coming back.

But what if Sheryl’s appearance at this moment was discovered?

Then, the lies they told would be exposed.

"Sis, I’m not dead, I’m fine now. You should go back quickly, don’t stay here. If we’re discovered, we’re done for."

"Alright, Luna, take good care of yourself here. Once that woman is dealt with, I’ll take you home."

"Okay, sis, just go," Luna urged.

Sheryl took something out of her pocket; it was a box containing bird’s nest soup for recovery. "Luna, I just made this tonight; it’s all because of me you’re like this. Let me watch you drink some before I leave."

Luna just wanted Sheryl to leave quickly, so she didn’t think too much. She took the spoon from Sheryl’s hand to drink, but in her peripheral vision, she noticed Sheryl’s hand kept trembling.

"Sheryl." The man who came in with her tugged at Sheryl’s clothes, seemingly wanting to dissuade her, but Sheryl gave him a fierce glare, signaling him to shut up.

This was all seen clearly by Luna, and the spoon at her lips was placed back down, eyes wary. "Sis, why are your hands shaking?"

"I, I felt a bit cold."

"Did you add something to this soup?" Luna, familiar with The Lancaster Family’s cunning, had started feeling uneasy.

"No, no, just drink it," Sheryl stepped forward, intending to push the bowl of soup to Luna’s lips.

"Ah, help, help!" Luna suddenly shouted, knocking over the soup in Sheryl’s hand and shrinking towards a corner of the bed.

"Run," the man pulled Sheryl to flee.

The nurse, hearing the cries for help, rushed in hurriedly. "What happened? Why is the ward door open?"

Luna exhaled sharply. "Someone...someone broke in."

The nurse saw the spilled supplement on the floor. "Someone broke in to bring you a supplement?"

"Yes."

"Check if there’s something else in it."

"Alright."

Luna, after being comforted by the nurse, had just calmed down but was terrified again in a second. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

"We just tested what was on the floor. It contains deadly ingredients. Fortunately, she didn’t drink it. Drinking more could, at the least, poison the throat, or at the worst, could be fatal."
