My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!
Chapter 545 - 546: Frightened
"It’s true that you won’t be able to see Jared, but you can meet Mrs. Quinn. I’m sure if you say you’re willing to give her the truth, it would work better than telling Jared himself?"
"I don’t care who it is, I have to meet them!" Luna Lancaster was nearly driven mad. "No matter who is willing to come out and meet me, I’m willing to give them the truth."
Chloe Summers went back and immediately told Melody Thorne about this. Now she was practically Melody’s little follower.
"Then let her wait there for now. There’s no rush," Melody Thorne said, staring at the chat window on her phone with messages sent by Nina King.
"Fine, let that woman die of anxiety," Chloe Summers lifted her chin.
Harold Chapman, standing nearby, glanced at her and coldly said, "Girls should act like girls. Scheming is not suitable for you."
Chloe Summers was just a young socialite, surrounded by people who flattered her and spoiled her since she was young, so she never needed to plot against anyone.
"I’ve always acted like a girl," Chloe Summers defied him, standing up straight, her charming figure appearing particularly attractive from the side.
Harold Chapman averted his gaze, and sternly said, "Stand properly."
Chloe Summers proudly faced him, "Harold, you saw clearly just now, right? I’ve grown up now, just like those other women. You used to say I wasn’t developed, but now I am. When are you going to marry me?"
"Ridiculous!" Harold Chapman turned around and left.
Chloe Summers stomped her feet in anger. How can there be such a cold man?
Doesn’t she look pretty? Doesn’t she look good?
There’s never been another woman around him; isn’t he just waiting for her to grow up?
"How long have you known each other?" Melody Thorne asked curiously, propping her chin with her hand.
"I’ve known him since I moved into their house at age four," Chloe Summers replied as she sat by the window. "Unfortunately, my mom always told me to call him brother, but I’ve never thought of him as one. He’s exactly what my future boyfriend should look like."
Melody Thorne said, "...he’s your brother."
"He’s not. There’s no blood relation, so where’s the brother?" Chloe Summers defiantly replied.
Melody Thorne snorted. It seems Chloe Summers had her eye on Harold Chapman since she was young.
The next morning, Melody Thorne met with Luna Lancaster.
"I heard you came to clear my name?"
"Melody Thorne, it was my fault that day. I apologize. I’m willing to go out and clarify things, but you have to ensure my safety. I don’t want to die at my sister’s hands. Promise me, please promise me. I don’t want to die."
Luna Lancaster was trembling as she spoke.
Melody Thorne knew she must be scared out of her wits, and thus what she said now was most likely true.
"I’ll have someone arrange it, but your sudden change of heart might not be trusted by everyone. It’s necessary to provide evidence that Sheryl Lancaster isn’t dead," Melody Thorne said.
"I have evidence," Luna Lancaster said frantically. "The day after our fight at the company, Sheryl Lancaster contacted me. We met at a secret underground bar. Although it’s hidden, there should definitely be surveillance."
"Okay, I’ll have someone check it out. You should prepare yourself to be notified about when the press conference will be held."
"Okay, okay."
Melody Thorne returned to her room. Jared Quinn’s video call came from his company, seemingly having just finished dealing with paperwork, resting on a genuine leather seat.
