My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!
Chapter 547 - 548: No Wonder She’s His Woman
Clearly, Melody Thorne, this murder suspect, should have been arrested.
"President, this woman shouldn’t be here," someone protested aloud.
"She’s a murderer, how could you just let Major Chu release her? Our business at Quinn Corporation has been severely affected because of this woman."
"President, this woman must be apprehended, she’s walking around with the label of a murderer."
"President."
"Do you all still know that Jared is the one in charge here?" Melody already erupted before Jared had a chance to lose his temper, "Are you all trying to rebel and replace him?"
"We only oppose you!" a few of the older folks spoke up, "A woman should know her place!"
Jared’s gaze shot at them coldly, like a sharp knife slicing the air in two, and the temperature seemed to drop instantly, causing a collective gasp.
Those people were genuinely afraid of Jared, especially when he was in a bad mood—he wouldn’t spare anyone.
Just as a man’s expression was about to burst, a small pair of hands pressed against his chest, soothing his agitation. "Darling, don’t get angry, don’t get angry. Didn’t I say I’d smack some people’s faces? Let’s start in a bit."
Her voice was quite low, the elderly shareholders seemed to hear something, not sure if they heard the words "dog face."
Jared quickly calmed down under the soothing touch of those little hands.
"We’re doing this for the good of the company."
Many people below were unhappy about Melody Thorne’s presence here.
Melody couldn’t be bothered to say more to those old men; she walked over to the large glass window of the conference room and pulled open the grand, luxurious curtains: "If you’d rather trust the rumors spread by some second-rate actress than your own president’s wife, I guess I have to prove myself!"
Everyone in the conference room turned to look out the window, including Jared.
Opposite Quinn Corporation was a large stage, also a big terrace where events like press conferences usually took place. Right now, it was packed with people, a massive, impressive crowd.
On the stage, a very conspicuous banner indicated that Luna Lancaster was about to reveal the truth about whether Melody Thorne committed the murder.
The old shareholders exchanged glances and no one dared to speak up again, each hanging their heads.
As shrewd as they are, they couldn’t miss the fact that for Melody Thorne to show them a live broadcast meant she was confident.
Jared retracted his gaze, indulgently ruffling her hair, his deep, mesmerizing eyes like obsidian.
His woman was certainly smart, thinking about using Quinn’s proximity for both her safety and to slap many faces.
This indeed is his woman.
Jared sat back in the leather chair, pulling Melody down with him; it was tiring to stand for so long.
Sitting on Jared’s lap in front of so many people made Melody feel a bit embarrassed, but since these old shareholders could falsely accuse her, she might as well do this.
