My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!
Chapter 573 - 574: You’ve Been Tricked
Melody Thorne secretly breathed a sigh of relief. The reason she wanted to go out was to meet Jared Quinn or take the opportunity to escape. Who cares about the Seymour Family? Without the slightest feeling of home, escaping might be the best option.
Hans Montrose intervened, and indeed the Seymour patriarch did not say much before agreeing. Hans Montrose personally drove her, weaving through the various roads of Country C.
Melody Thorne focused intently on her surroundings. Once she left the Seymour house, even her breathing felt free and joyful.
"What do you like?" Hans Montrose’s mood also improved a lot and he pointed ahead. "The food at this place is really, really good. Want to try it? You’ll find all your favorites in there."
In particular, the fusion of rich flavors and Western cuisine was Melody Thorne’s favorite.
"I’m not hungry yet, let’s go later." Melody Thorne’s gaze fell on a dessert shop, and she casually suggested, "Why don’t you go get me a dessert first?"
Hans Montrose’s eyes swept over that dessert shop, parked the car, and hesitated as his large hand gripped the steering wheel.
"Don’t worry, I won’t run away. The Seymour Family is so powerful that even if I want to escape, I’d quickly be caught back. I might as well behave."
"It’s best that you think this way," Hans Montrose turned off the car. "I’ll be back soon."
"Alright," Melody Thorne leaned away from the car window, reclining on the seat and closing her eyes to rest, showing no inclination to escape.
Hans Montrose gave her a deep look, opened the car door, and walked towards the dessert shop.
He picked out several of Melody Thorne’s usual favorites, and there was a small crowd at the checkout. His eyes frequently flicked towards the car. From his angle, through the half-open window, he could see the coat still draped over the seat.
After paying, Hans Montrose returned to the car. As he opened the door, his usually gentle eyes turned icy; beside the seat was only a piece of clothing, under which lay a pillow, but the person was long gone.
She had fled. She had indeed fled.
Leaving Hans Montrose’s car, Melody Thorne immediately hailed a taxi and left. She remembered Jared Quinn saying he was staying at a hotel.
By the roadside, a small figure brushed past the taxi, followed by four robust men walking towards the Seymour residence. The child was encircled by the adults, making them inconspicuous.
As Melody Thorne glanced sideways, they were already far away. Despite the distance, she noticed a small figure. But with so many children on the street, it was unclear, and she didn’t think of Timmy.
Jared Quinn had mentioned that Timmy was safely staying at Quinn Villa.
Ten minutes later, she noticed many people coming from the Seymour house, seemingly looking for her.
Melody Thorne got out of the car and headed straight for the hotel, spotting Harold Chapman on the top floor.
"Sister-in-law," Harold Chapman narrowed his eyes. "Why are you here at this time?"
"Don’t say anything, pack up, we’re going back home now." Melody Thorne said quickly. "Where’s Jared Quinn? There are a lot of people outside looking for me; arrange for a private plane quickly."
Harold Chapman’s expression grew more serious, "You escaped?"
"How else could I get out?" Melody Thorne’s hand was poised to push open Jared Quinn’s suite door when she paused, "What are you suspecting?"
"Sister-in-law, it’s not me doubting. You’ve been tricked. Our stay here is a secret, using someone else’s identity. Now that you’re here, they’ll definitely find out that Jared is here."
