Chapter 598: Chapter 569: Be Careful

"Do you know how long he has been with us?" The old man looked serious, "Since our Seymour Family established a foothold in Crestfall, the presence of the clan elder has always been there, spanning two generations."

"But everything they’ve prophesied over these two generations is related to the heir," Melody Thorne sneered, "Grandpa, don’t worry, I will be responsible for the Seymour Family. Since I’m in charge, everyone must listen to me, otherwise, Jared and I will leave here immediately."

"You..."

"Alright Grandpa, you don’t need to worry about so much. Leave everything to me," Melody released the old man and instructed everyone present, "Listen, no one is allowed in here."

"Yes."

"Grandpa, you can go rest now. Jared and I will go in and take a look."

The old man stood in place, looking at Melody Thorne, unsure whether to stop her or not.

"Caleb, follow along to prevent anything from happening!" The old man struck the ground heavily with his dragon-head cane.

"Alright," Caleb followed them inside.

"Grandpa, look at her, what does she look like?" Stella Seymour unwillingly walked to the old man’s side, "In the Seymour Family, there are so many people. Who dares to move the clan elder?"

The old man squinted his eyes, "That’s exactly because none of you dares to act, but she does. That proves she has the capability and can take responsibility for the Seymour Family."

"Grandpa," Stella’s expression changed, biting her lip tightly, "You’re clearly biased, letting her do whatever she wants."

"Enough, I know what I’m doing. You should call her sister, rather than harboring jealousy," the old man spoke with authority. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

Stella was seething with anger; the old man clearly cared only for Melody Thorne, considering her the only granddaughter, always indifferent to others.

No way, this matter must be brought to those uncles. Stella’s eyes flickered with coldness; she refused to believe so many people couldn’t suppress one Melody Thorne!

Just as Melody Thorne and Jared Quinn entered the hall, Caleb overtook them, walking ahead and keeping a distance.

Jared squinted slightly; indeed, Caleb sincerely wanted to protect Melody Thorne, but as a man, it made him uncomfortable. To him, only he should protect his woman.

"Crash!" The large chandelier overhead suddenly dropped vertically, landing right where Caleb was walking.

"Caleb, be careful!" Melody Thorne shouted in alarm.

Caleb agilely dodged, and the grand old chandelier fell to the ground, even cracking the floor. One can imagine the consequences if someone had been underneath.

If they had been walking there, the consequences would truly be unimaginable.

"Caleb, are you all right?" Melody Thorne asked worriedly.

She nearly forgot, the clan elder had prophesied, predicting she and Jared would die together, so he would seize any opportunity to fulfill his so-called prophecy.

"I’m fine, should we go up?" Caleb looked upwards.

Not even the Seymour Family members had been up there, let alone them.

"Let’s go," Melody Thorne tightened her grip, "I must see what’s up there."

Jared’s eye twitched twice but he didn’t stop her, unconcerned about any other accidents. The clan elder had enough sense not to stage more of such incidents to arouse suspicion.
