Since she became pregnant, his heart has been constantly tense because she is so careless, forcing him to protect her twenty-four hours a day. He reckons this anxiety will only ease once she gives birth safely.

The two walked a little further to get in the car and leave, when a man carrying two bottles of wine walked toward them, tipsy.

Melody Thorne and Jared Quinn paid him no mind until they reached the car, when the drunken man behind them suddenly spoke: "Old buddy, you’ve been lying here for twenty years. I come here every day to see you. I dreamt yesterday of us working at the construction site together. I know your death was unjust. You didn’t get to spend any of the compensation money from the construction site — I ended up buying booze with it all. I know you resent me.

But it’s been so many years, I’ve come every day to clean your grave. You should calm down."

Melody Thorne and Jared Quinn stopped walking at the same time and turned to look. They saw the drunk man leaning on Howard Seymour’s gravestone. How could Howard Seymour, the eldest son of the Seymour Family, ever do construction work?

"You tell me, if it wasn’t for what happened back then, would you be lying in such a fine coffin? You should be content," the drunk man muttered to himself, oblivious to Jared Quinn and Melody Thorne standing behind him.

"Who are you talking to?" Melody Thorne suddenly spoke from behind him.

"Silas Creed," the man almost reflexively replied.

His reply sobered him up instantly. He glanced behind him, dazed, but what he saw nearly scared him to death.

"Who are you?" The drunk was now fully aware.

"This is my father’s grave, so who do you think we are?" Melody Thorne’s face turned cold. She wondered if the drunk had confused the grave due to intoxication, but since this area was filled with Seymour Family graves, how could he be mistaken?

The man, suddenly startled, grabbed the two bottles of wine and ran, "Sorry, mates, sorry. I didn’t mean to bother you or defile your grave!"

"Hey," Melody Thorne wanted to chase after him for answers, but Jared Quinn stopped her, "Let’s head back first. There are monitors outside the cemetery. We’ll have Harold Chapman pull the footage later — he won’t get away."

"Alright." 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Back at the Seymour house, Jared Quinn immediately took off her shoes and led her to the bed, worried about her health.

"Jared Quinn, it’s only been a little over a month, and you’re this tense. What will you do when my belly grows bigger? Are you just going to hold onto me constantly?" Melody Thorne lay her head on the pillow, amused by the man in front of her. How could he be so exaggerated?

Jared Quinn seriously considered it for a moment, "I can do that."

Melody Thorne "..."

She scoffed, "I’m not a puppy."

"What would you like to eat?" Jared Quinn pulled a blanket over her.

The food here wasn’t quite to their liking, mainly because Melody Thorne preferred domestic cuisine and found the local dishes hard to stomach.

As soon as she thought about food, Melody Thorne’s face fell.

"How about I make your favorite crystal shrimp?"

Melody Thorne smiled, "Okay."

"Get some sleep first. I’ll wake you when it’s ready."

"Alright."

The living room door hadn’t been closed, and when Leon Rivers walked in, he couldn’t find any trace of Jared Quinn.
