My Tribrid System: More than a Monster
Chapter 350: Behaving Strangely?
Chapter 348
In the deepest, darkest hours of the night, Ray could be seen surrounded by thirty wolves, and he was not taking it easy with any of them.
WAM!
A bone hammer smashed into the head of a wolf before he hurled the weapon forward, sending it crashing into the front legs of another beast.
Lightning crackled fiercely around his hands as he slammed his palms into the ground, sending bright strikes of electricity crawling forward.
The current hit a few wolves out front, freezing them in place.
Four wolves swiped at his front, but he immediately vaulted high into the air, sending a sharp, sword-like beam cutting through their path.
He landed on the ground, and almost instantly, a wolf lunged at him, its jaws clamping onto his leg tightly.
A bone spear immediately sliced down, piercing the beast.
The wolf whimpered and let his leg free.
Swinging his hands a few times in the air, jagged lines of obsidian energy burst forward, ripping through the legs of some wolves that had tried moving forward.
Lightning arced around the soles of his feet, and he wasted no time in exploding forward, blitzing into the midst of five wolves.
Swinging the bone sword in his hand, he cleaved through their ranks, causing them to crash into the ground.
A golden lasso appeared in his hand, which he hauled forward, wrapping it around the body of one wolf.
He lifted it up, spinning it around and around to scatter the other wolves and send them smashing into a nearby mountain.
Yanking the wolf stuck on his lasso forward, he neutralized it immediately with a powerful, concentrated punch before halting the next moment.
The corner of his lips twitched into a crude smile as he lifted his head to gaze at the moon.
’Hmph.’
Deactivating the lasso, a bone spear and a bone sword appeared in each of his hands.
Ray spun them around a few times before shifting into a defensive stance, watching twenty of the wolves regain their footing while five others were completely immobilized.
With a loud, collective howl, the remaining pack lunged toward him.
Thrusting the bone spear forward, it sliced through the defense of the lead wolf.
Then, he vaulted backward while dragging the spear out.
Landing a meter away, he lifted a foot off the ground and spun around to smash the sword into the head of a approaching wolf, sending it crashing into the dirt.
Wam!
A massive wolf pounced at him, using its full weight to bash into the boy and sending him staggering backward.
On his flank, two more wolves appeared and wasted no time in swiping at him.
He couldn’t summon a bone shield in time, so he decided to rely on his sheer durability.
The claws ripped through his uniform, but upon striking his flesh, they felt like they had hit a solid stone wall.
In retaliation, Ray bashed the pommel of the bone sword in his hand into the head of one of the attackers.
Feeling the others bolting toward him, he immediately thrust the spear into the next beast, dragging it diagonally to clear his immediate path.
Dragging the spear out, he twirled it around then thrust behind him, a wolf impaling itself on the weapon.
He smiled once more as he dragged the spear out then hurled it forward with all his might.
Bang!
The spear flew forward and broke through the defense of four beasts before finally losing momentum.
«Not to distract you, but why aren’t you using any of your bloodline skills? You are just using your weaponry skill.»
Ray smiled once more without replying as he was entirely focused on the battle in front of him.
Ducking under a wolf that lunged at him with its jaws open and ready to take a bite, his sword sliced its underbelly open.
’Man... thanks to the controller on Bone Ridge for all these weapons strong enough to take out Advanced rank beasts. Otherwise, I would have been toast by now.’
Kicking the face of the first beast, he leaped into the air before landing away.
’... And will you look at that? Who knew that the weapon class I attended would come in handy. This place is good to help sharpen those skills before I return. If it wasn’t for all these variables, I wouldn’t even think of winning this fight.’
[Lunar Claws Activated]
Swinging his hand forward, a jagged claw strike burst forward and smashed into the neck of another wolf.
’And thanks to my werewolf power. Ah... it saddens me that I can’t fully transform yet. I can only use claws.’
Swinging his claw again, he sent another strike hitting the leg of another beast.
Then he twirled around and thrust his sword into the head of another.
Putting his whole weight into it, he kicked off the ground then vaulted all around the beast, getting right behind it.
Waiting for several seconds, he watched as the remaining ten wolves were charging up an attack.
He waited for more seconds to pass and then, he heaved a sigh.
[Arc of Judgement]
A bright, ethereal, white glow began charging around his hands, and then he thrust them forward, sending an enormous sword-like beam flying forward.
Bang! BOOOM!
The beam tore through the ranks of the beasts, followed by a thunderous explosion that shook the entire area, crumbling the mountain in the background to the ground.
"Haaa... haaaa.... Haaaa."
Ray panted hard as he wiped the sweat gathering on his face away before walking towards the fallen wolves to begin extracting their cores one by one.
«Honestly. Ever since you came in contact with that strange girl, I can’t seem to understand you anymore. You have changed for some reason. Tsk! I’m tired of trying to guess you.» Elyon scoffed and then stomped away to go settle down in a corner.
Ray didn’t react to this and just carefully continued extracting the cores.
’Sigh... I have only six swords, five spears, seven hammers, and ten shields left. Too bad I can’t retrieve the ones I have used already.’
