My Weekly Refreshing Mentor Spirit
Chapter 471 - 337: The Descending 5332_2
"If you already think this level counts as a ’God’, then I’ve got nothing to say. Right now I’ve only temporarily obtained this planet’s authority; this kind of level is negligible in the Cosmos."
"Is that so?"
"Yes." Xue Dili nodded, then began telling the story of the Venerable King.
And in that instant they all looked like they’d seen a ghost, because from their point of view, a Quasi-Tier Five was already no different from a true God, and someone like Xue Dili who actually grasped authority, they simply took him as a Supreme God or something.
As for all that Cosmos, galaxies, superluminal expansion at the edge of the Cosmos, and the story of the Venerable King, it all sounded more like a ghost story to them.
Xue Dili could only wave his hand. This world had started to see its oldest tribes and civilizations nearly ten million years ago, but its civilizational process had been crippled like having its legs broken; only now had the whole world barely reached the budding stage of an industrial revolution.
As for who broke civilization’s legs—down in the deepest part of the Earth Core, inside a seal that no one could ever discover, the Squid, who was suffering the ultimate humiliation, could volunteer to take the blame.
Things weren’t even the worst for them; after all, once the Yellow Skin founded a nation in the Human Realm, they at least experienced 1300 years of peace, letting the Empire develop to today’s level where it could just barely touch an industrial revolution.
On the other hand, the Demon Realm was miserable to the point of resembling those scalpless people in America.
Xue Dili slashed open a Teleportation Gate and stepped through in an instant.
Lana, the Pirate Woman, and the Archer stepped through as well.
When they arrived, they all froze. The whole world was barren. The earth was pitted and cracked inch by inch; withered grass curled and lay flattened on the ground, turning to powder at the slightest breeze, kicking up a haze of yellow-brown dust.
A few emaciated figures were huddled by the field ridge, fingers digging into the gaps in the soil, trying to find any remaining grass roots.
Their eye sockets were sunken, skin clinging to bone like a layer of yellowed paper wrapped around a jagged silhouette. In the distance, a child curled up in his mother’s arms, lips cracked and seeping blood, yet he didn’t even have the strength to cry.
Seeing this scene so completely at odds with the Human Empire, both Lana and the two Heroic Spirits were struck dumb with shock.
"This is...?" they asked in disbelief.
"The Demon Realm you speak of. But I think calling it the Continent of Kate is better, because the Humans here call themselves the Kate Human Race," Xue Dili said.
"Even though your two races fought for countless years through the Great Expedition, you are the same people. There isn’t even reproductive isolation between you now, and your genes are basically the same. It’s just that when you enjoy favorable weather and gentle rains, they must endure endless natural disasters—and the reverse is also true..."
Xue Dili gazed silently at this land. "When they had fair winds and timely rain, it was your ancestors who were suffering endless natural disasters. That’s just the rule that Squid bastard set. I’ve simply modified that rule now."
They silently watched this world of suffering. The trees in the distance had long since been stripped of their bark, exposing pale trunks like corpses drained of blood and flesh. A few crows circled low, their hoarse caws tearing through the congealed air.
The air reeked of dust and despair. Now and then a faint groan drifted out from the thatched huts, quickly swallowed again by the stillness.
"My Lord... God, aren’t we going to do something?" the Archer spoke up first.
"Relax. Let the bullet fly for a while," Xue Dili replied.
They didn’t really understand what he meant, but soon the sky dimmed slightly, and then a fine drizzle began to fall from above.
Everyone in the world struggled to tilt their heads back, mouths open to catch even the tiniest bit of rainwater, as if they just wanted to survive this way.
But soon, they felt something was off.
Suddenly, they had strength again!
As the raindrops fell on their bodies, their strength returned in an instant. No matter what hunger, disease, or injuries they had suffered, all of it vanished at once. The torment and suffering in their bodies began to ease as well. Everyone wept with joy; they tilted their heads back in the rain, dancing, singing the unique ballads of this continent. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
Someone who looked like a Wizard kept blowing a wooden flute, its sound seeming to wander through the curtain of rain.
Xue Dili just stood in the downpour as vast quantities of rainwater seeped through the earth and slowly gathered beneath him, then turned blood-red and gradually flowed back into his body.
Every drop of this rain had Cursed Blood mixed into it. This was the first time Xue Dili had ever done something like this—using a rainfall covering tens of millions of square kilometers of continent and merging Cursed Blood into the rain curtain.
After being diluted to this degree, the concentration of Cursed Blood was already so low it was undetectable; even its ability to absorb suffering and provide Healing had been reduced by who knew how many times.
But even at this level, the Cursed Blood was enough to help them recover from 1300 years of suffering, slowly restore production, and reclaim their civilization.
Every raindrop contained a minute trace of Cursed Blood. Once this cursed rain descended on the continent, it could Heal all suffering, disease, and pain.
The loud, full-throated crying of a child rang in everyone’s ears. They looked toward the distance at the child who had almost lost his breath just now; he was now crying his heart out, while the mother beside him, once nothing but skin and bones, looked almost like a normal person—just a bit malnourished.
