Chapter 250: Chapter 249: Sword Flight

Once they were home, Su Qi started treating Jiang Zuo’s hand with some medicine.

Jiang Zuo’s hand felt like it was about to be completely ruined.

Now that he thought about it, Jiang Zuo felt a lingering fear. He had only revealed his identity, and this was how Su Qi had reacted.

If she were to find out he had been deceiving her this whole time, he couldn’t imagine how angry she would get.

’At that point, my entire body would probably go numb, wouldn’t it?’

He didn’t dare to imagine it.

"Does it still hurt?" Su Qi asked after applying the medicine.

Jiang Zuo shook his head. "It’s numb, so it doesn’t hurt at all."

Su Qi pouted. "So it’s my fault?"

Then, Su Qi added, "My senior sister said this medicine is very effective. It should be healed in a few hours."

Jiang Zuo already knew. He could tell with a single glance that it was indeed an excellent medicine.

Its properties were gentle, able to penetrate skin, flesh, bone, and meridians to treat the injury comprehensively. While it worked a little slowly, it was guaranteed to leave no lasting damage or side effects.

Su Qi looked at Jiang Zuo and said, "Next time, you can try crying out in pain. I might just go easy on you."

Jiang Zuo didn’t feel like arguing. Back when he was an ordinary person, he had tried to resist before. The results were never satisfactory.

Even though so many years had passed, he still remembered.

Right now, Jiang Zuo’s Cultivation was at 2.1, while Su Qi’s was at 2.6. If they were to fight, and if he didn’t count her Hairband...

Jiang Zuo figured Su Qi would probably be no match for him.

But since they’d never actually fought, it was hard to say for sure.

’But if we really fought, my Realm wouldn’t matter. I’d lose for sure.’

"What are you thinking about?" Su Qi asked, waving her hand in front of him.

Jiang Zuo snapped out of it and shook his head. "Nothing. Just thinking about the old days."

Su Qi didn’t press him. Instead, she asked, "What do you want to eat? I’ll make something special for you tonight."

Jiang Zuo thought for a moment. "Let’s just have noodles. I feel like it’s been a while."

"Okay." With a nod, Su Qi headed to the kitchen to get started.

Meanwhile, Jiang Zuo had left Sweet Potato and Duan Qiao to their own devices.

Sweet Potato was currently gnawing on an apple, while Duan Qiao was trying to learn how to do a backflip.

Sweet Potato was a Holy Beast Descendant, yet it still hadn’t learned how to do a backflip. Duan Qiao was an ancient Artifact Spirit, and it actually had to learn too. Each one was more hopeless than the last.

Jiang Zuo realized that everything he picked up was rather bizarre.

Before long, Su Qi had finished cooking the noodles.

By now, it was nighttime, and the moonlight over Liyuan Island was especially bright.

Su Qi looked out the window. "We’re going back to the Holy Land tomorrow. Then, after we rescue Master, we can finally go home. It’s so much more comfortable at home."

Jiang Zuo, eating his noodles, replied, "It’s been fine, but home is definitely more relaxing."

No matter where you are or whether you’re alone, nothing feels quite as good as being home.

That was true even for Cultivators.

Su Qi sat down next to Jiang Zuo with her bowl and smiled. "Did you have fun on this trip?

After seeing all the beauties of the Cultivation Realm, did you finally realize that your wife is actually exceptionally beautiful?

That not even one in ten is as pretty as me."

Su Qi was indeed beautiful. Only a very few could be considered prettier.

As things stood, only Jingyue, Liuyue Xue, and perhaps Witch Dan Xue could be considered a cut above.

Almost no one else could compare.

So, Jiang Zuo ought to be proud for having married such a beautiful woman.

Besides, in Jiang Zuo’s eyes, Su Qi was a far better wife than any of them could be.

In his heart, Su Qi was the best, the most perfect.

So, Jiang Zuo nodded matter-of-factly. "Yes, I’ve realized that. My wife is exceptionally outstanding."

Su Qi smiled happily. "By the way, my senior sister said you were lucky to marry me. So you have to treat me well for this life and the next."

In truth, Jiang Zuo wouldn’t have minded a few more lifetimes, let alone just two.

’But when would this life even end?’

’That’s hard to say. Whether it *could* end is a question in itself.’

Su Qi leaned happily against Jiang Zuo. She was a bit tired and sleepy.

The Celestial Tribulation had left her mentally and physically exhausted.

It hadn’t been easy for her to hold on this long.

Looking at Su Qi, who had already fallen asleep, Jiang Zuo couldn’t help but sigh. He then used his hand, which had just regained some of its strength, to lift her into his arms.

After carrying Su Qi back to their room, Jiang Zuo planned to rest as well. In truth, he was also exhausted—he had been struck by lightning multiple times, after all.

Watching Su Qi sleep soundly, Jiang Zuo felt that tonight was a wonderful night.

’Finally, I can get some peaceful sleep.’

「The next day」

Jiang Zuo and Su Qi both struggled to open their eyes. They looked at each other.

Su Qi squinted. "What time is it?"

Jiang Zuo shook his head.

Su Qi fumbled for her phone. When she looked at the screen, she saw it was already ten o’clock.

Her expression instantly darkened. She dragged Jiang Zuo out of bed. "Hurry, hurry! Sleep, sleep, sleep, all you do is sleep! We’re going to be late!"

It wasn’t that they were *going* to be late; they *were* already late.

But Jiang Zuo didn’t say anything. He just went along with it, getting dressed and out of bed.

Su Qi smoothed down her hair, then sat in front of Jiang Zuo. Without a word, she pulled off her Hairband and tossed it to him.

Jiang Zuo naturally took it and began to tie her hair with the Hairband.

It had already become a habit.

She liked it when he tied it for her, and he was happy to do it.

It was a pleasant routine.

"Can you hurry up? I’m already dressed," Su Qi said with a pout.

’I can’t believe I overslept. I’m going to get an earful again. I can handle getting scolded, but it would be terrible if they blamed Jiang Zuo for it.’

’I wonder if Martial Uncle is as easygoing as Master,’ Su Qi thought.

Once they had packed their things, they hurried toward the designated meeting spot.

Su Qi practically dragged Jiang Zuo along, running so fast she wished she could arrive in a single leap.

When they arrived, they found only Jian Shisan standing there alone.

Su Qi said respectfully, "Martial Uncle, are we late?"

Jian Shisan, who had been spacing out, snapped back to reality and looked at Su Qi. "Late? I suppose we are a little late."

Su Qi was speechless.

Then Su Qi asked, "Where is my senior sister?"

Before Jian Shisan could answer, Su Qi heard someone hurrying over from a distance.

It was Jingyue.

So, she was late too, and even later than them.

Su Qi felt utterly exasperated. It seemed their sect had lost all face. As Cultivators, they had overslept and arrived this late.

If word got out, they’d be a laughingstock.

Jian Shisan didn’t say anything, though. These people had just undergone their tribulation; it was already impressive they were up this early.

Then, Jian Shisan spoke. "Since everyone is here, let’s depart. Oh, by the way, I sent Soft Cloud on ahead."

"Huh?" Jingyue asked, surprised. "Then how are we supposed to get back?"

Jian Shisan waved his hand, and a longsword flew out. "With Sword Flight, of course," he said. "Have you never seen it? Or has it gone out of style in the last few hundred years?"

Jingyue gave an awkward smile. Their Realms were still quite low, so they hadn’t had much exposure to Sword Flight. Naturally, the thought hadn’t even crossed their minds.
