Mystic Eyes: My Eyes Steal the Laws of Cultivation
Chapter 468: First Auction
Kyrian walked through the illuminated streets of the caravan.
Now that the sun had disappeared behind the End Mountains, the entire Caravan seemed even more beautiful, as if the night had revealed a hidden layer of beauty that daylight concealed.
Countless luminous formations lit up automatically, creating a spectacle of colors that danced across the facades of the buildings. Crystal lamps floated above the streets, suspended by invisible cords, illuminating the paths of passersby with a soft, ethereal glow.
Bridges of light connected buildings, allowing pedestrians to cross from one side to the other without having to descend into the busy streets.
In the sky, small flying boats carried important guests between the four great auction halls, their silhouettes outlined against the starry sky like fish swimming through an ocean of darkness.
As he walked, Kyrian observed cultivators from every realm, Core Formation, Spiritual Awakening, and even experts far beyond those realms, whose energies were so dense that they distorted the air around them.
Once again, he truly realized how many experts existed within that city, how many powerful figures hid behind ordinary faces and unassuming robes.
After a few minutes, he arrived before the Celestial Dawn Main Hall, the hall belonging to the Alchemists Association.
It was gigantic.
A circular structure made of white jade and golden wood, with curved rooftops that rose toward the sky like the wings of a divine bird. Hundreds of formations glowed across its walls, pulsing with a gentle energy that created a hypnotic effect.
A massive golden plaque above the entrance declared in imposing characters.
"First Grand Auction of the Celestial Descent Festival."
Hundreds of people entered continuously, forming an endless stream that flowed like a human river.
At the entrance, dozens of guards carefully inspected invitations, their armor gleaming beneath the light of the formations. When Kyrian presented the VIP token given to him by Lio Han, the guards’ attitude changed immediately, their expressions softened, and their posture became noticeably more respectful.
One of them bowed.
"Sir, please follow me."
Kyrian was escorted through an exclusive corridor, separated from the main flow by silk curtains and sound-isolation formations. He climbed several floors via polished wooden staircases until he reached the VIP rooms.
Each room was completely isolated by formations, making it impossible to know who was inside, a measure designed to protect the buyers’ identities and prevent outside pressure during the bidding.
The attendant opened the door. Inside was a luxurious room, furnished with soft red velvet armchairs, spiritual fruits arranged on jade trays, exceedingly rare teas served in porcelain cups, and sweets prepared with spiritual herbs that released delicate fragrances.
A massive crystal window provided a perfect view of the entire hall, offering a privileged perspective of the stage and the crowd below.
Kyrian approached the window. His eyes swept across the enormous auditorium, with more than five thousand seats, nearly all of them occupied. Hundreds of VIP rooms were distributed across the upper floors, each with its own observation window.
At the center stood a raised circular stage, above which dozens of lighting formations floated, creating a magnificent display of light and shadow.
While waiting for the auction to begin, Kyrian started observing the people with his eyes. Out of curiosity. There were extraordinarily powerful experts present. He saw an old man whose Qi resembled a boundless ocean, so deep that Kyrian could not see its bottom.
A silver-haired woman whose mere presence made space itself seem heavy, as though the air around her had become denser. A man wearing a golden mask is surrounded by several bodyguards, each of them in the Spiritual Awakening Realm. Every one of them seemed to have a story.
A short while later, the lights dimmed. An extremely elegant woman appeared on the stage, dressed in golden robes that shimmered beneath the light of the formations.
Her smile seemed natural, and her posture radiated confidence and authority. Her voice, amplified by formations, spread throughout the hall like a gentle breeze.
"Welcome to the first auction of the Celestial Descent Festival."
The crowd immediately fell silent, every eye fixed upon the stage. She quickly introduced the rules, explaining how the bidding would work and guaranteeing the authenticity of every item.
She then announced the first item, a sword that was an Earth-grade treasure, its blade gleaming with a bluish light.
The opening bid was fifty thousand spirit stones. The bidding began immediately, sixty thousand, seventy thousand, eighty thousand, ninety thousand, and one hundred and twenty thousand.
Kyrian merely watched, evaluating the purchasing patterns and the profiles of the buyers. It was interesting, but he had no need for it, as he already possessed a spear powerful enough for his current level.
A variety of items followed, weapons, armor, rare materials, and pills. Some ingredients caught his attention, especially extremely rare herbs that he recognized from alchemy scrolls. But none of them were essential to his current plans.
After nearly an hour, the auctioneer smiled differently, a smile that promised something special.
"The next item was produced by an exceptionally mysterious and talented alchemist. Rank Five Pills. Perfect purity."
The entire hall fell silent. Even Kyrian raised an eyebrow. It was his batch. The woman continued, her voice filled with admiration.
"One hundred percent purity. Without a single impurity. A true treasure."
Instantly, the hall erupted into an uproar, murmurs, exclamations, and looks of disbelief.
"Perfect purity? Who refined these? Does such an alchemist exist in the Caravan? It must be a hidden Grandmaster."
The auctioneer simply smiled, preserving the mystery.
"The identity of the alchemist will remain confidential."
The auction began. The opening price was already far higher than expected, and even so, the bids exploded upward. Kyrian watched calmly as the value quickly rose to several times what the Association would normally pay.
Within a few minutes, his batch was sold for nearly three times the usual price. Even Kyrian was pleased. Lio Han had truly spoken the truth, auctions multiplied the value of his items.
Two more batches of pills belonged to him, and all of them sold for astonishingly high prices. Then the auctioneer announced the transition to the night’s main items.
