Jiang Yi’s soul released a miserable scream. When the soul was attacked, the pain was many times worse than any physical injury.

The Godslaying Lightning erupted into a sea of purple lightning, surging with terrifying destructive power.

The soul could be powerful or weak.

A powerful soul could be capable of destroying heaven and earth, while a weak one could be as fragile as a bubble.

Jiang Yi’s body had been possessed by a member of the mysterious Soulkind. As the name implied, his soul was far from weak.

Yet he had entered Lin Moyu’s soul world, and with the Godslaying Lightning able to manifest here, the invader suddenly seemed vulnerable.

Three bolts of Godslaying Lightning struck in succession. The roaring sea of lightning swallowed Jiang Yi’s soul completely.

His agonized howls echoed within the sea of lightning, “You will regret this! The Soulkind will never let you go! They will refine you into a puppet, seal your soul, and condemn you to eternal damnation!"

Lin Moyu shook his head, “We’ll deal with the future when it arrives.”

His eyes were cold with murderous intent. He had no intention of letting Jiang Yi escape.

The Godslaying Lightning could not only destroy the body; it could also reduce the soul to nothing.

As Jiang Yi’s soul suffered heavy damage and grew weaker under the relentless lightning, it suddenly burst forth with blinding red light.

The red light pierced through Lin Moyu’s soul world and vanished instantly.

The remaining soul detonated with a thunderous roar, releasing a tide of blood-colored soul force that swept through the entire space, dyeing it blood-red.

“He self-destructed. Decisive until the end.”

Lin Moyu hadn’t expected Jiang Yi to destroy his own soul.

Facing the incoming shockwave, Lin Moyu remained calm.

The Nine-Colored Dragon Soul Crystal exhaled a breath, forming a protective shield around Lin Moyu.

Then it inhaled sharply, devouring most of the soul attack.

The small portion that struck Lin Moyu’s soul-form was neutralized by the breath’s protection.

Moments later, the Nine-Colored Dragon Soul Crystal exhaled again.

The soul force it released had been purified, and it flowed directly into Lin Moyu’s soul, which began to shine brilliantly.

“I leveled up…”

Both his soul and body radiated with light as his level surged from 77 to 79.

Jumping two levels at once far exceeded his expectations.

This leveling speed was simply exhilarating.

Jiang Yi’s soul rank had been extremely high, and perhaps due to his Soulkind lineage, the quality of his soul was exceptional.

But the gains didn’t stop there.

Lin Moyu’s soul rank also advanced. He had already been half a step away from level 93; now he had officially crossed that threshold.

With both his level and soul rank rising, his combat power increased dramatically.

It was an enormous harvest, though Lin Moyu still felt some regret. He hadn’t managed to extract more information from the enemy.

Now that he knew Jiang Yi belonged to the Soulkind, a troubling thought surfaced.

Were there more outsiders hidden in this world?

They might have possessed bodies or might exist in other forms.

The fact that they were impossible to distinguish gave Lin Moyu a headache.

Exhaling slowly, Lin Moyu turned to Meng Anwen, “Teacher, it’s over.”

Meng Anwen asked, “Jiang Yi is dead?”

Lin Moyu nodded, “Yes. He’s dead. You can deactivate the Eternal Great Wall.”

Meng Anwen nodded and withdrew the Eternal Great Wall.

The blood formations were still operating, but Bai Yiyuan and the others were already dismantling them.

With no one stopping them, the 999 blood formations would soon be destroyed.

Meng Anwen operated the Shenxia Tower, sending beams of light to eliminate the blood formation within Fortress No. 9.

The fortress had been reduced to ruins. Only the outer walls remained intact, protected earlier by the Eternal Great Wall.

Rebuilding the fortress would take considerable time.

Meng Anwen asked quietly, “He wasn’t Righteous God, was he?”

Lin Moyu shook his head, “He never was.”

Meng Anwen pointed toward the sky, “He came from the beyond?”

Lin Moyu nodded, “Yes. He called himself a Soulkind. His soul looked some kind of insect—disgusting.”

“But his soul was powerful. Stronger than a human of the same level.”

“Likely a race that specializes in the soul.”

Meng Anwen’s expression grew serious, “Are there others besides him?”

He shared the same concern as Lin Moyu.

“I can’t be sure. I tried to draw information out of him, but it failed.”

“He detonated his soul in the end and left nothing behind.”

“Teacher, I need to see Antares. I’ll leave things here to you.”

Meng Anwen said with a nod, “Go. We’ll handle the cleanup.”

Many class users were caught in the crossfire when the blood formations activated.

Numerous people were injured, and some were devoured instantly.

With so much aftermath to handle, Meng Anwen and the others had no choice but to remain and maintain order.

Lin Moyu activated Antares’s scale and teleported away.

“Why aren’t you sleeping this time?” Lin Moyu looked at Antares, a trace of irritation in his eyes.

Antares deliberately turned his head aside, “I sleep when I want and stay awake when I don’t. Right now, I’m not sleepy.”

Lin Moyu flew directly in front of him, “You’re avoiding me.”

Antares turned his head again and snorted, “What would I have to avoid?”

“Don’t you have anything to say to me?” Lin Moyu pressed, once again positioning himself before Antares’s eyes.

“Nothing.” Antares closed his eyes, clearly adopting an out-of-sight, out-of-mind approach.

But the act only made his guilt more obvious.

Lin Moyu didn’t call him out directly, “Fine. I’ll ask. You answer.”

Antares replied, “I will answer if I feel like it. If I don’t want to talk, don’t even think about tricking words out of me.”

Lin Moyu didn’t mind, “You knew there was something wrong with Jiang Yi all along, didn’t you?”

“I knew.” Antares admitted without hesitation.

“Then why didn’t you tell me?”

“You didn’t ask. And besides, were we even close back then?” Antares spoke as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

“So if I never asked, you would’ve said nothing?”

“What’s there to say? Unlike you, I don’t enjoy wasting breath.”

Lin Moyu continued quickly, “Just now, were you thinking about how to answer my questions? Trying to guess what I might ask?”

“Of course!” The words slipped out before Antares realized his mistake, “Wait, no…”

“I understand.” Lin Moyu cut him off.

Antares looked annoyed, glaring at him, “Can you have a proper conversation? It’s rude to interrupt.”

Lin Moyu shot back, “And is it polite to treat a friend like this? What if a major disaster had happened?”

“It was only a matter involving a Soulkind. What’s the big deal? You killed him anyway.”

Antares barked, “And it’s not like I did nothing. I helped you intercept his soul remnant.”

“If that soul remnant had escaped, do you know how much trouble it would have caused later?”

Lin Moyu froze, “A soul remnant?”

He was surprised. He hadn’t expected Jiang Yi to have such a trick.

On the surface, it looked like self-destruction, but in reality, Jiang Yi had attempted to let his soul remnant escape.

As a Soulkind, he clearly understood souls far better than Lin Moyu did and likely possessed a way to recover from a soul remnant.

Once again, Antares had helped him.

Seeing the realization dawn on Lin Moyu’s face, Antares snorted arrogantly and turned away.

Lin Moyu’s tone softened, “Can you tell me about the Soulkind?”

“Apologize.” Antares spat out the a word, though he didn’t actually refuse.

Lin Moyu took a deep breath, “I’m sorry. I was acting in haste just now.”

He truly had been angry. If Jiang Yi’s sword had been aimed at Bai Yiyuan instead of Ye Hao, Bai Yiyuan might not have escaped unscathed.

If something had truly happened, Lin Moyu would have been consumed by regret.

That was why he had been upset with Antares.

But thinking about it now, Antares wasn’t really at fault. Lin Moyu hadn’t asked, and at the time they hadn’t been close.

Antares continued to ignore him.

Lin Moyu flew right up to Antares’s face, stopping less than half a meter away, and bowed sincerely, “I’m sorry, Lord Antares. I was wrong.”

“You’re broad-minded. Surely you won’t hold a grudge against me, right?”
