Necromancer: I Am A Disaster
Chapter 713: A Skill With Infinite Possibilities
Lin Moyu studied the skill description. It was simple and unadorned, yet the skill demonstration revealed its true power.
The enemy’s numbers dwindled as the battle continued, while their forces grew larger and larger, seemingly endless.
One person against an entire army, yet it posed no challenge at all.
Even more astonishing, the resurrected enemies looked exactly as they had in life, but their combat power had been enhanced.
The pressure on the enemy was unimaginable.
Another terrifyingly powerful skill. No wonder the greater world rune had tried to stop him.
Lin Moyu couldn’t help but wonder what he had done to provoke such a reaction.
After all, he was nothing more than a tiny ant, weak and insignificant.
The difference in level between him and the greater world rune was like the gap between heaven and earth.
Why would it go to such lengths to stop him?
As the third skill appeared, the scene before his eyes shifted once more.
“A third demonstration!” Lin Moyu shouted softly, his body trembled with excitement, his fists clenched tightly.
The fact that all three skills had skill demonstrations meant they were all powerful skills.
In truth, when the second demonstration appeared, he had already suspected there might be a third. But seeing it actually happen still filled him with excitement.
The same starry sky appeared. The same battlefield.
The war was nearing its end. Most of the powerhouses from the different races had already been wiped out.
Suddenly, a mass of raging flames leapt through the space from afar.
It wasn’t streaking. It was leaping.
The flames radiated a scorching brilliance. It was a gigantic star.
With each leap, the star crossed hundreds of millions of kilometers, as if teleporting through space.
After several jumps, the blazing star entered the battlefield.
Violent flares erupted from the star. In an instant, the undead army suffered devastating losses.
Even the Bone Dragons could not endure the terrifying heat and were reduced to ash.
Then a large number of powerhouses flew out from the star.
The mere fact that they could live upon a star spoke volumes about their strength.
Lin Moyu had felt similar auras before. He instantly recognized them.
Every single one was an unequaled powerhouse.
Their were the same as the unequaled powerhouses he had encountered in the Primordial Space.
As soon as they joined the battle, the undead army was forced into retreat, completely unable to resist.
Even the Bone Dragons could offer no resistance.
These beings were simply too overwhelmingly powerful.
In the blink of an eye, hundreds of millions of undead were destroyed. The undead army was on the verge of collapse.
The Necromancer raised his stave once again. Countless undead emerged, rapidly reforming the undead army.
Then the stave began to glow with a different kind of light.
As the light spread across the battlefield, the undead army began to reorganize.
Skeletal Berserk Warriors, Skeletal Marksmen, and Skeletal Great Mages started to fuse together.
After the fusion, they transformed into a skeleton unlike anything Lin Moyu had ever seen.
It wore heavy armor. In its right hand was a flaming greataxe, and in its left a frost shield. Whirlwinds swirled beneath its feet, while lightning coiled around its body.
Its aura was terrifying.
At the same time, a Skeletal King appeared in the starry sky. But it was not the Skeletal King Lin Moyu knew. This one was far stronger than anything he could currently summon.
Meanwhile, Bone Dragons merged with Headless Knights.
The warhorses beneath the Headless Knights vanished, replaced by the Bone Dragons themselves.
The Headless Knights transformed into Dragon Knights.
The Elemental Liches fused together as well, becoming a colossal Elemental Giant that embodied every element at once.
Every one of these creations radiated an overwhelming aura.
The fighting erupted once again.
The Necromancer pointed his stave forward.
With a low hum, a crimson light flooded the starry sky.
“The Deterioration Curse skill…”
The thought flashed through Lin Moyu’s mind. But he dismissed it immediately.
This was far more than a simple curse.
Within the crimson light, the blazing star seemed to suffer a devastating blow.
Its flames flickered violently. Within only a few seconds, they began to fade. Soon, the star lost all its flames and all its vitality.
10 seconds later, the star exploded. The blast swept across the space.
Yet in a battle between unequaled powerhouses, even a star-rank explosion held no lethal threat.
The scene shattered and vanished. The skill demonstration had ended.
Even now, Lin Moyu still hadn’t fully understood the skill.
[Acquired skill: Infinite Fusion]
[Infinite Fusion: fuses undead or skills to create new undead or new skills. The outcome depends on the components used and may result in either weakened forms or tremendous increases in power.]
It matched perfectly with what he had just witnessed in the demonstration.
The Necromancer had used this very skill to create an undead army composed of unequaled-rank powerhouses. He had even forged a skill capable of destroying a star.
This skill was called Infinite Fusion. As its name implied, it possessed limitless possibilities.
Lin Moyu felt that the skill demonstration had barely scratched the surface of its potential. There were still countless combinations and possibilities waiting to be explored.
Two powerful offensive skills and one skill with infinite possibilities…
The three level 80 skills were simply too powerful.
No wonder the greater world rune had tried to stop him.
Especially the final skill. Its potential was boundless.
As Lin Moyu grew stronger, the skill would grow alongside him.
And more importantly, it was still only a skill. It had not yet entered his soul to become a soul skill, to become a law art.
Which meant it could still become even stronger.
“As long as I’m strong enough, even greater world runes can be trampled beneath my feet.”
If the Necromancer in the skill demonstration could reach that height, then he could as well.
They were both Necromancers. Who was to say one was inferior to the other?
A surge of ambition rose within Lin Moyu; he was utterly fearless of the challenges ahead.
“How is it?”
Antares’s voice rang out. Lin Moyu’s aura had already stabilized, and Antares knew the skills had been grasped.
Lin Moyu replied, “I’ll show you. Let’s start with the first one.”
Skill: Summon Bone Dragon.
Lin Moyu raised a hand and pointed into the distance.
The sky darkened instantly, swallowing even the colorful streams of light in the sky.
Antares’s eyes narrowed slightly, “Law…”
Lin Moyu sensed it as well—a faint but unmistakable law aura.
Even this faint trace was enough to prove how extraordinary this skill was.
A cluster of silver-white flames appeared in the air. Within the fire, a vortex slowly spun.
From its depths came a thunderous roar, and a powerful undead aura spread out.
Antares’s eyes narrowed further. He saw more than the roar; he saw a breath attack forming within the vortex.
Then the flames burst apart. A Bone Dragon wreathed in fire emerged before them.
The Bone Dragon lifted its head and roared toward the sky, its cries echoing again and again.
Roughly five meters long, its entire body burned with silver flames. Though it resembled a Dragon, it wasn’t nearly as large.
Compared with the Bone Dragons Lin Moyu had seen in the skill demonstration, this one was far smaller, little more than a miniature version.
Antares frowned, “This is a Dragon?”
Lin Moyu nodded, “A Bone Dragon. It’s only level 1 right now. Give me some time to grind it.”
Antares studied the Bone Dragon carefully, “The aura is pure. It feels like one of our Dragon Race… yet I’ve never heard of such a branch within our race.”
Lin Moyu shrugged, indicating he had no idea either.
Without further delay, he began grinding the skill. To avoid future trouble, he always preferred to max out new skills as quickly as possible.
As one Bone Dragon was summoned after another, the skill’s level rose steadily.
Grinding a skill from level 1 to level 80 would normally be an enormous task.
But with his Comprehensive Link talent, Lin Moyu never had to worry about exhausting his spirit force.
He summoned relentlessly, and the skill leveled up at an astonishing speed.
As the skill’s level climbed, the Bone Dragon’s aura grew increasingly powerful, and its body gradually expanded.
Lin Moyu had a feeling this might be the last time he would ever need to grind a skill.
The other two skills had no levels and required no grinding at all.
Two days later, the skill finally reached level 80.
Only then did Lin Moyu check the Bone Dragon’s attributes.
[Skeletal Dragon]
[Level: 80]
[Strength: 1,800,000]
[Agility: 1,800,000]
[Spirit: 1,800,000]
[Physique: 1,800,000]
[Skill: Death Breath (level 1)]
[Death Breath (level 1): exhales breath filled with death energy, dealing corrosive damage to the target.]
The attributes were astonishing. With the bonuses from his talent, they even surpassed those of world rank bosses of the same level.
Its health might not quite match world rank bosses, but judging from the Bone Dragon’s frame, the difference shouldn’t be large.
Antares spoke in a deep voice, “Try attacking me.”
