Chapter 1419 Training Ground
They had their own teachers.
One-on-one teaching.
They believed this method yielded the best results.
Yet, they didn’t realize that the most important part of operating a mecha was learning from combat.
By then, the sky had darkened, lights around were brightly lit, yet they still couldn’t disperse the darkness brought by the nightfall.
Jay Brown followed behind Professor Lawrence to his right, always maintaining a step slower, "I heard the royal princess once quelled the border turbulence, so her skills must be above mine."
Jay Brown wasn’t being modest, but rather, he had arrived at this conclusion after some thought.
If the royal reports were true, then Emma’s skills should be comparable to Wayne Lane’s.
Even if she hadn’t been on the battlefield for many years and, as she said, her skills were rusty, they shouldn’t be too inferior.
Professor Lawrence chuckled and shook his head, "The royal princess is indeed formidable, but the truly formidable one isn’t Emma."
"Not Emma?" Jay frowned, quickly grasping the meaning in Professor Lawrence’s words, "You mean Hannah, right?"
Professor Lawrence gave a non-committal response.
They had already reached the outside of the training ground.
The training ground was only open during the day, and most nights it was locked.
But Professor Lawrence had the keys.
Keys, locks—a very ancient way of locking doors.
But the old dean liked it, said it was a pursuit of a retro style.
The moment the door opened, the lights inside the training ground also lit up.
Jay spotted two mechas standing in the training ground.
One red, one silver.
The red one was his most often used 609 mid-level mecha.
There was a rule at the Mecha Academy that one could only use their personal mecha in official competition duels.
So, during daily training, they used mechas provided by the academy, which only had numbers, no names.
Others were not allowed to use mechas, but Jay didn’t have his own mecha.
So, he studied and trained desperately, aiming to win first place in the graduation duel.
The prize for the first place was a high-level mecha.
Jay recognized the red mecha, but not the silver one.
"Professor Lawrence, what is this?"
Professor Lawrence explained to him, "This is Tree Star 106."
"Tree Star?" Jay was somewhat surprised, "The one made by Master Sink?"
Professor Lawrence stroked his beard, "Of course not, this is merely a simulation of part of Tree Star’s combat program, far inferior in all aspects compared to the real Tree Star."
"A simulation of the combat program?" Jay muttered.
Professor Lawrence explained, "Tree Star’s owner is Hannah. Years ago, with her permission, we restored the footage of her in combat and created a program that was embedded into the main system of Tree Star 106 for future academy combat training, but who knew..."
After that incident happened later on, the royal family ordered the destruction of all data related to Hannah.
Although the old dean secretly retained some of Hannah’s data, this Tree Star 106, being too conspicuous, had to be kept in the basement continuously.
Jay, initially full of questions, couldn’t contain his excitement upon hearing the name "Hannah."
"Professor, do you mean?"
Though he already had the answer, he dared not be sure.
Professor Lawrence smiled, "You’ve been saying you wanted to fight Hannah, haven’t you? Now this fulfills half of your dream."
Although Tree Star 106 could not represent Hannah’s real skill level, for Jay, this was also a very rare opportunity.
