Chapter 1435: Picked Up a Person
Even Nicholas thought they were done for.
But to everyone’s surprise, Hannah suddenly left again.
Sixth Hoffman and the others chalked it up to having a big stroke of luck, but Nicholas thought a bit more about it.
"Considering the severe injuries she’s suffered, the rumors outside must be true. She must have already betrayed the royal family," Nicholas analyzed.
Sixth Hoffman was impatient, "So what if she betrayed them? They’re all our enemies anyway."
Nicholas shook his head, "No, there’s a saying that’s quite true: the enemy of my enemy is my friend."
Sixth Hoffman didn’t understand.
Neither did anyone else.
Among this group of people, it was Nicholas who had read the most books.
They ended up taking Hannah with them.
They didn’t intend to save her, just found a somewhat flat stone for Hannah to survive or perish on her own.
Half an hour later, Hannah could move.
Bearing severe wounds, she took on all the wanderers alone.
When Sixth Hoffman was howling on the ground, he was still complaining, "I told you we should’ve killed her, killed her, but you wouldn’t listen, brought her back, and now look, we’ve been wiped out by her!"
In those years, very few people knew the name Hannah; everyone simply referred to her as the Commander.
A group of people lay on the ground, only Nicholas was still able to focus enough to negotiate with Hannah.
The result of the negotiation was just one.
"I’ll be your boss."
At those words, everyone was shocked!
One day she was the enemy, the next she was their boss—how could anyone accept that?
Sixth Hoffman was the first to disagree.
Hannah tossed the stone in her hand, dusted off her hands, squatted in front of him, and looked down, "You disagree?"
Her voice was bright and dazzling, incredibly charming.
Sixth Hoffman clenched his fist, "Yes, I disagree!"
"Alright," she gestured with her hand, "then fight me again. If you win, I’ll recognize you as the boss."
And so after that...
Hannah became the boss of the wanderers.
Sixth Hoffman, in the end, still didn’t dare to fight her that day.
The girl’s figure seemed frail and weak, but only those who had been hit by her knew that her hands could easily take a life.
Once Hannah became the boss of the wanderers, the quality of life for the wanderers noticeably improved.
Because her injuries had not yet fully healed and she did not have her mech with her, Hannah started leading the wanderers to... well, rob from the rich to give to the poor.
...
It seemed to be a habit common to all wanderers.
Picking up things.
When landing a starship on a planet that had just been invaded, Hannah picked up a person.
A Jadeite with ragged clothes and waist-length hair, yet a man.
Back then, Jadeite hadn’t blossomed yet, his brows and eyes full of youthful innocence, with delicate and handsome features like a pale green spring orchid blooming in this desolate land, peaceful and tranquil, asking for no quarrel with the world.
Probably because Jadeite’s demeanor simply didn’t suggest that he was a homeless refugee, Sixth Hoffman’s first question to him was,
"Is this your home?"
He gestured at the burnt soil under his feet.
Off in the distance, the remnants of burnt houses were still emitting black smoke.
As soon as he uttered these words, Nicholas slapped the back of his head.
That question was really ill-timed.
But Jadeite wasn’t upset and put his palms together in front of his chest, "Indeed, this place was my residence." 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
Sixth Hoffman was puzzled, "Is this guy a monk?"
Hannah handed a bottle of water over to Jadeite, unscrewing the cap and offering it to him, "With hair unshaved, what kind of monk would he be?"
Sixth Hoffman nodded, "That makes sense."
Nicholas was still making jokes on the side.
