Chapter 16: I will claim your prize

"Are you mad?!"

Sinon exclaimed, her voice reaching the ears of every Farmer standing around. She was filled with rage, and strange emotions.

One moment she was about to congratulate him on his achievements and now she was cursing him.

Sinon had a dumbfounded expression on her face, her mouth open in shock, then she said:

"Do you want to kill yourself? You have already lost a lot of blood and you still want to continue?"

Aegon stared at her puzzled, then he replied:

"Oh no... this isn’t my blood."

Of course it wasn’t his, but the blood of the monster he had just killed.

Actually they were all covered in red from blood wave of the monster earlier, but because Aegon was the closest he was drenched with it.

Nyra glanced at Sinon as she made her complain, she didn’t know why Sinon was reacting like that, it wasn’t like her.

"That’s doesn’t matter!" Sinon replied to Aegon’s claim.

She knew it wasn’t his blood but still acted and said it so he would not go and fight again.

"Sinon that’s enough, he’s our only hope of getting out of here alive, and don’t forget... he’s S-rank."

As the words left Nyra’s lips, Sinon emotions calmed down, and her expression was relaxed.

She had forgotten the main thing here, he was S-rank.

"That’s true... but still."

Although she was already calm, she still didn’t want to have him going to face off almost over five hundred monsters on his own.

But he was S-rank right?

Aegon stood, staring at the ladies before him, confused. He had heard something and wasn’t sure if he heard right.

’S-rank?’ he thought inwardly. ’When did I say I was S-rank? Ain’t those people monsters of their own world, how can they compare me with them.’

Aegon had never seen or met a S-rank Farmer, but he himself knew he was no where near their league.

Back when he met with Reynold for the first time, the energy he felt from Reynold was something he knew he couldn’t face.

’That guy was strong, and I know it. If I had stupidly attacked him then, I would have died in an instant. And he isn’t even a S-rank.’

’So, if he’s not S-rank and he has such magical energy, how much more a S-rank Farmer? When they say that a hundred A-rank Farmers can’t take on a single S-rank and live.’

Aegon, obviously knowing where his strength lies, simply smiled.

’Me... S-rank?’ he chuckled.

Nyra and Sinon noticed the expression on his face, and immediately Nyra asked.

"Why are you smiling...?"

In that moment, Aegon’s expression came back to normal, the smile on his face already disappeared.

"It is nothing... I will go and face the monsters, in the mean time take some Farmers and search for the Pedestal Crystal, we don’t have much time."

Aegon walked passed them, as mana began emitting from his body; piercing, that everyone, even Nyra and Sinon who were close to him felt like choking.

He could have told them he wasn’t a S-rank Farmer, but he already ran the analysis and knew the reason they thought him to be S-rank.

He might not know all that had happened in the last years, but some of the important things, he knew off.

Aegon walked passed the two, and move to the middle of the other Farmers who had already given space for him to pass.

There was no judgement in their eyes nor hearts, as they had seen the power he displayed.

Who dares to talk? Let him come out...

Aegon stoped walking and stood in the center of the Farmers, and for a second all of them held their breaths.

Why did he stop?

What was he going to say?

Is he going to command us to throw ourselves to the monsters as food?

The Farmers who didn’t know of why Aegon had stopped, all felt as though time had paused.

It was expected, he was emitting a strong aura, one that only the strongest are able to emit.

But how could they know? It’s not as if they had ever met the strongest to know how it felt.

Yet, they could feel it. If by mistake they were to breathe, their heads would leave their body before they take such action.

Aegon eyes looked around the entire Farmers, as he did a count in his heart.

’Rougly over a hundred, including myself.’

For a brief moment, a solemn expression displayed on Aegon’s face. He had thought of the Farmers that had died.

’Four... hundred.’

The Farmers all went into a daze as they could feel the intense emotion in the air, it was grave.

Just then, Aegon’s expression went back to normal, expressionless. Their was no time to mourn the died.

He turned towards Nyra and Sinon and said, his tone direct and cold as though he was giving an order.

"Don’t come back without finding the Pedestal Crystal, and while on your way look for any survivals and heal them, if there is hope."

After saying this, Aegon turned, his jacket danced a little with the wind, and then he walked away.

Nyra had a smile on her face after hearing what he had said, in her heart she thought;

’Not only is he a S-rank Farmer, but he also cares for others. I didn’t know there were still people like him.’

Nyra and the others watched as his shadow vanished into the fog; that separated them from the monsters.

;"_-_";

Nyra looked above and saw the image that displayed the time they had remaining.

(05:47:27)

"Five more hours... Let’s go people!"

Nyra exclaimed while she clapped her hands, prompting everyone who to get ready.

"We are going to look for this Pedestal Crystal and we are going to take any survivors we find with us!"

"If you see a person that still has breath in them, do not hesitate to help and assist them. I repeat, do not hesitate to help and assist them."

"Once we find this Pedestal Crystal we are also going to find a way to use it so we don’t end up dying!..."

"Now, who’s with me!!"

All the Farmer all roard in motivation as their spirits were lifted with the words of a single Farmer.

While this was going on, Sinon came close to Nyra and whispered in her ear

"Who died and made you boss?"

Nyra shrugged and gave a brief smile before it turned into a fierce expression. She turned around; the opposite direction of where Aegon had gone, and the others followed suit.

"Chrome come..." she called, and Chrome came to her side.

"Yes..." he responded, and Nyra asked.

"Tell me, what do you think of this Pedestal Crystal."

Sinon stood and gazed at how Nyra had taken charge, leading the other Farmers.

For a moment, while her eyes were fixed on Nyra’s back, a image of a small Nyra appeared for a while and then disappeared instantly.

Knowing what that was, Sinon shrugged and smiled, as she thought in her heart.

’What a woman you have become.’

Afterwards, Sinon followed behind the others as they venture deeper into the ring to find their way out.

...

At the same time, Aegon had just walked out from the fog and was graced with a large army of monsters.

They were all small, but a lot. However, one seemed to stand out the most. It was at the back, but it could be seen clearly.

"You..."

Aegon let out a single word, and the rest, in his heart;

’If I’m correct, the second half of the yellow stone should be within that monster.’

"I will claim your prize."
