100X Return System: My Talent Awakening Becomes a God-Level Cheat-Chapter 6: Entering the Abyss
The Abyss, also known as the place where monsters dwell; is a place not appreciated by a lot of people.
These people, not Framers, are regular humans who can’t perceive mana and have no talent.
They see the Abyss as a curse that was bestowed on the city three years ago. Even though the resources gotten from the Abyss had turned the city into what it is today, many people still didn’t fancy that place.
The only people who did were the Framers.
They knew even though it was a dangerous place, they would benefit a lot from it.
..
Aegon arrived at the edge of the city, far away from where buildings and functioning roads were. It was a part of the city which was not yet developed.
No, not that it wasn’t developed, it used to be a normal residential area before the storm three years ago.
But after the storm occurred, this place was left deserted as no one wanted to live here; all because this was the area where the Abyss was located.
The strongest had made sure to remove civilians from this area.
"What?"
As Aegon entered this deserted area and all of a sudden his entire surroundings became dark like the night had come.
Confused, Aegon took five steps backwards and his surroundings became full with light again.
The sun was shining at its peak indicating that it was just around the sixteen hour of the day.
Seeing this, Aegon took five steps forward and everywhere went dark once more.
"Nah."
That was the only word that escaped Aegon’s mouth. He was standing perplexed with no way of comprehension.
"Is this the Abyss, never would I have thought it would be this dark and lonely."
Aegon took a step forward, and walked inside, no animals, no birds chirping, nothing.
Just then, Aegon saw a light in the distance, it was small but was a change from the dark.
The light wasn’t far from the entrance of this dark place as Aegon hadn’t even walked that long.
He reached the light and was surprised to see it was a building. The only building in this place, and it was full with electricity.
"What is this place?"
Aegon opened the door of the building and before him a great multitude appeared. There were different people inside this building.
Not just any people, but farmers.
This was a place where every Farmer would come to sign off before they entered the Abyss.
’Hold on, I thought I was inside the Abyss?’
Aegon was confused and decided to find answers. In this place packed with a lot of Farmers, there was surely someone who would give him some information.
Scanning through, there was a counter desk just like the one back at the Farmer’s Association.
But this one was longer in length and the people behind it were males not females.
There were the ones who took care of the signing of Farmers entering the Abyss.
A Farmer must be known that he was entering the Abyss, so if they don’t come out, it would be registered that they died in there.
Aegon saw a line that was already less with people and decided to join that line. He stood for some minutes while noticing everything that was going on.
People from youth to adulthood were those who were made up of farmers. Most of them were here for the first time, others had already been here.
Some Farmers were in a group which surprised Aegon. In his mind he had thought that everyone would want to work alone and get the spoils for themselves.
At this moment, Aegon was the next in turn.
The man in front of him was wearing the same color of corporate wear as the man from the Farmer Association building.
"Can I see your Farmer’s license please."
The young man had swollen eyes, with bags underneath it, his voice was a bit hoarse and his beard was unshaved. It was obvious that he hadn’t slept in days.
Aegon noticed this and handed his license without utterly a word.
As the man collected the license from Aegon, his voice exclaimed without control.
"F-Rank?"
The words were loud enough and the Farmer’s round as well as the man peers all reacted.
"What, really?"
"Yeah, I heard someone had awakened such a low talent rank, never thought it was true."
"Well it would seem so."
"So he’s the one?"
"He’s a newbie."
Aegon stood expressionless with no bother in his eyes.
He was standing 6 ’1, with jet black hair; wearing a black oversized hoodie over a charcoal grey shirt, black cargo pants with hanging utility straps and a pair of black and grey sneakers.
He didn’t dress anything like a Farmer at all.
With his right hand in his cargo pocket, even though there was no wind in this place, for some reason a certain wind blew and his jacket danced with it.
"Here you go..."
The man behind the counter handed over Aegon’s Farmer’s license back to him after he had signed it, then he said Aegon:
"If you are planning on entering the Abyss with a rank like that, you should better find a group of people and form a party."
"If you try to enter the Abyss by yourself, it would be certain death for you. There are dangerous monsters crawling inside it."
"So if I was you, I would heed this advice and either join or form a party."
After the man had finished, Aegon nodded and left the line.
"_-_"
Taking what the man had said, this was both good and bad news for Aegon.
On the good side, when he had formed a party he would be able to learn so much from them.
’It is said that the Abyss is a massive place, almost equal to a continent. Although all of it hasn’t been explored yet."
"If I want to make it to Maureen fast I would have to get information, and to do so I have to join a party.
While that was the good part, there was also the bad part; to get into a party.
It was obvious Aegon couldn’t start a party himself, he was a newbie and didn’t have that experience, so his best option was to join one.
But, this wasn’t going to be an easy task.
Aegon stood at the center of the building, it was massive and wide, almost the size of a football field.
He scanned the area for possible prospects; who he could join.
Most people here were already in a group of three or more, and for a moment Aegon’s eyes landed on a group of four young men.
He began approaching them, and as he got closer their talk went silent as their eyes landed on him.
"Hey, is it okay if I join your team to enter the Abyss?" Aegon asked, as he met them.
The group of men glanced at each other and burst into laughter.
"You?"
"Why would we let a trash-tier F-Rank join our party?"
The group laughed together as they mocked Aegon for his talent rank.
It was expected. No one would want a useless rank into their team as it would only slow them down.
Aegon was left alone, but he didn’t feel troubled, he simply turned and set his eyes on another group, but they quickly noticed and moved away.
At the moment, Aegon felt at this rate he wasn’t going to enter Abyss, but he wasn’t about to give up.
Just when he was about to move, a soft and calm feminine voice spoke behind him.
"Hello, are you looking to join a party?"
