70s Delicate Girl: A Guide to Being a Rich Woman-Chapter 272: Arriving at the Imperial City
The train was quite noisy, and Xu Mumu didn’t really like it; the smell on the train wasn’t very pleasant either.
The three-day journey was an agony.
When they arrived at the train station in Imperial City, Xu Mumu felt completely drained; life on the train was truly difficult.
"Mumu, are you okay?" Yin Yang looked at Xu Mumu with concern.
"I’m fine, I’m fine, let’s go." Xu Mumu shook her head.
"Someone is here to pick us up." Yin Yang said with a smile.
"Yang, over here." As they walked out of the train station, a young man waved at Yin Yang.
"Yun Hong, how long have you been here?" Yin Yang led Xu Mumu over.
"Over an hour now, Yang, aren’t you going to introduce us?" Zhou Yunhong smiled and winked at Yin Yang.
"This is my girlfriend, Xu Mumu. Mumu, this is my friend, Zhou Yunhong. He drove here, and we’ll head to my place first." Yin Yang gently introduced them.
"Hello." Xu Mumu smiled and nodded. This person looked like a cheerful, fresh young man. She had a good first impression of him, and he wasn’t bad-looking either.
"No need to be so formal, sister-in-law. If you need anything, just let me know." Zhou Yunhong was slightly surprised. He knew Yin Yang hadn’t said much about finding a girlfriend, so they naturally didn’t know.
"Get lost, do I need your help around here?" Yin Yang glared at Zhou Yunhong and tossed the things Xu Mumu was holding to him, "Help carry these to the car."
"Okay, Yang," Zhou Yunhong said with a smile.
In the car, Xu Mumu and Yin Yang sat in the back. This small sedan seemed quite new.
"Are you going to stay in Imperial City for good, Yang?" Zhou Yunhong chatted with Yin Yang while driving, wanting to know Ying Yang’s plans.
"We’ll discuss that later. Nothing’s settled yet." Yin Yang responded calmly. He couldn’t exactly say he might move back to Xu Mumu’s hometown in the future.
"By the way, Yang, Yin Xu also got into Imperial University, so you might run into each other." Zhou Yunhong said with a smile.
"Well, congrats to him. What’s that got to do with me?" Yin Yang said calmly, though a careful observer might notice the ruthlessness in his eyes.
Yin Xu, his nominal brother, was two years older than him. Yin Xu’s mother was responsible for his own mother’s death.
"Are you okay?" Xu Mumu looked at Yin Yang with concern. The gloom surrounding Yin Yang was affecting her. This person should be Yin Yang’s brother; otherwise, he wouldn’t be so angry.
"I’m fine, don’t worry." Yin Yang shook his head. He didn’t want Xu Mumu to know about the disputes with his brothers.
His brothers were all quite untrustworthy. After all, the Yin Family’s business was a massive prize to them, and this enormous prize had fallen into Yin Yang’s hands.
Yin Yang had sent his father to his death, leaving these illegitimate children without backing. Since they had relied on Yin Yang’s father, after his death, how could they let Yin Yang live, let alone ignore that massive prize just out of reach?
If they could deal with Yin Yang, they could split the Yin Family’s business among themselves and each gain a significant portion.
Unfortunately, Yin Yang wasn’t that easy to deal with. Previously, when Yin Yang went to the countryside, they had found his whereabouts with much effort, originally planning to deal with him early on. Unfortunately, someone saved him.
The person who saved Yin Yang was, of course, Xu Mumu. That time, Yin Yang had been careless. Since then, he always had people secretly protecting him. Besides this, he had also cleaned out a group of people around him.
The people his brothers had planted around him were purged, thus the threat was significantly reduced.
"Mumu, if you encounter anyone with the surname Yin, stay far away. They’re all crazy and will bite unpredictably when they go insane—of course, I’m the exception." Yin Yang said warmly; his mood could shift quickly.
"Okay, I’ve got it. If they bully you, let me know, and I’ll beat them up." Xu Mumu said with a smile.
"Sure." Yin Yang chuckled lightly.
Zhou Yunhong silently drove, tasting the sweetness between the couple, almost choking on the sugary display of affection. Such disgrace for the grand young master of the Yin Family, feigning to be pitiful and needing protection from such a gentle young woman; Sir Yin would probably have trouble staying in his grave if he knew.
Zhou Yunhong decided not to speak anymore and continued driving to the courtyard Yin Yang had asked him to prepare for their arrival.
"This house is lovely, just the right size." Xu Mumu said, happily looking at the small courtyard. There were some roses and gardenias planted there, not yet flowering, but lush green and comforting to see.
"As long as you like it, Mumu, which room do you prefer?" Yin Yang eagerly helped Xu Mumu settle in.
"I’ll take this one where the roses are growing. It will smell great when they bloom." Xu Mumu chose the room near the roses.
"Okay, then I’ll stay next to you, and leave the master bedroom for Grandpa." Yin Yang said with a smile.
After a bit of tidying, Xu Mumu went to boil some water. There was a coal stove, and everything they needed was there. Xu Mumu boiled two big pots of water for a bath.
After three days on the train, she felt itchy and uncomfortable all over, also a bit greasy.
After Xu Mumu finished her bath, Yin Yang went to take his.
"What are we having for dinner tonight? Are we cooking here or going out?" Xu Mumu asked. They still had unleavened bread and boiled eggs, but she was getting tired of them.
"Let’s buy some ingredients and cook at Grandpa’s," Yin Yang thought for a moment. Professor Song was still living in the school-provided dormitory, sharing meals with a few other old folks until Yin Yang and Xu Mumu arrived.
"Sounds good, let’s buy more. Sir Jian and the others will certainly be there too." Xu Mumu nodded, agreeing with Yin Yang’s plan.
Yin Yang directly took Xu Mumu to the black market. It was Xu Mumu’s first visit, and she looked around curiously at the abandoned courtyard guarded by lookouts.
There were many vendors, with various goods on display. If not for the strict regulations, Xu Mumu thought she might want to visit frequently.
The two bought a lot of vegetables and some meat. Xu Mumu even bought two smoked chickens—it was a substantial haul.
Of course, their generous spending attracted quite a bit of attention.
However, the two weren’t bothered by this, especially not Xu Mumu, who was unconcerned about any possible robbery attempts.
Leaving the black market, they headed directly towards Huaxia University.
Their pace was swift, and aware of being followed, they weaved through the streets until they had lost their pursuers.
