70s Delicate Girl: A Guide to Being a Rich Woman-Chapter 273: Registration
Brought by Yin Yang to Huaxia University, they found some students had already arrived, and the two of them headed toward Professor Song’s residence.
"Can we register now?" Xu Mumu curiously asked, as there were still five days left before the start date written on the admission letter.
"Ask Grandpa; they definitely know," responded Yin Yang calmly.
"True." Xu Mumu nodded, and the two arrived at Professor Song’s residence, a location Yin Yang had learned from the gatekeeper.
"Brats, you finally came." Song Huaiyuan exclaimed with joy upon seeing them.
"Grandpa, we just arrived a while ago, and we bought some groceries to come see you guys." Yin Yang said with a smile.
"Sir Song, does Sir Jian live here too?" Xu Mumu asked as she placed the items on the table.
"Yes, indeed. You sit here while I gather those old fellows over." Song Huaiyuan responded happily.
"Come over and help me; let’s start cooking." Xu Mumu beckoned Yin Yang, calling him over to give her a hand.
"Mumu, what should I do?" Yin Yang asked with a smile, enjoying the peaceful time with Xu Mumu, although this tranquility might not last long, as his friends were probably going to come around.
"Peel the potatoes, and wash the bok choy and cucumbers," Xu Mumu instructed while rinsing the rice.
During his time as a farm assistant, Yin Yang often did things himself; these tasks were a breeze for him, and his speed at peeling potatoes was especially fast.
When Xu Mumu finished putting the rice in the pot, Yin Yang had already peeled two potatoes.
Xu Mumu deftly shredded the potatoes, crushed the washed cucumber to prepare a garlic cucumber dish.
After cutting the vegetables, she moved on to the meat, having bought some ribs to make them for dinner.
Though Professor Song’s dorm was small, it had a stove for cooking, which was quite convenient.
By the time Professor Song called over a few professors, the rice in the pot was almost done.
"Ah, today, I finally get to taste Mumu’s cooking," Professor Jian said with a smile, watching the two collaborate, joy evident on his face, looking so harmonious together.
"Sir Jian, you must eat a lot later," Xu Mumu said with a smile. Having finished chopping the ribs, she now awaited the rice to be drained so she could start cooking.
"Oh, I’ll definitely eat a lot," Professor Jian replied with a laugh.
The two were busy on the balcony, as the fragrance of the food began to waft out; Xu Mumu’s cooking was decent, though not comparable to those in the secondary room.
"Old Song, you truly have good fortune," Professor Shen commented enviously. Though he had family willing to look after him, over the years, they had grown apart.
"Of course," Professor Song proudly stated, "Judging by the smell, one can tell Mumu’s cooking skills are excellent."
Once the meal was served, Xu Mumu had prepared four dishes. When she tasted the food, she found it decent, yet the professors praised it as if it were divine, almost making her believe she was a master chef whose creations captivated everyone.
"Grandpa, Mumu, and I are currently staying in a courtyard outside. There are still some vacant rooms inside; would you like to move in with us? This way, we can help take care of you," Yin Yang seriously proposed to them.
"Why would I leave my own house to stay in your place?" Professor Shen rolled his eyes.
"Exactly, we have our own homes. It’s more than enough that you keep us in your thoughts," Professor An said with a smile.
"You two have homes, but I don’t; I’ll move there and eat Mumu’s delicious food every day," Professor Jian said enthusiastically. Living alone was lonely, and he regarded Xu Mumu, his student, as a granddaughter, so he certainly wanted to stay nearby, preventing Yin Yang from bullying her.
"I’ll go too; living alone here is so dull," Professor Song added eagerly. He found Xu Mumu’s cooking indeed delightful and enjoyed her company.
"Alright, Grandpa, we’ll come tomorrow to help you move your things," Yin Yang said with a smile.
"That sounds good," Professor Song nodded with a smile, having only Yin Yang as a relative now; living together was naturally a good idea.
Having reached an agreement, Yin Yang, seeing the pleasant weather, took Xu Mumu back. They even took back the groceries they bought today that will be used for cooking tomorrow in the new place. By taking a little at a time today, it will lessen what needs to be moved tomorrow.
Upon returning, it was nearing dark; Xu Mumu and Yin Yang tidied up a bit before resting. The sleep on the train was terrible, and after a long day, they were already exhausted.
Xu Mumu had absolutely no trouble sleeping there; the courtyard’s position was somewhat secluded, and with some distance from the street, it was very peaceful inside, quickly lulling Xu Mumu to sleep.
By the next morning, when Xu Mumu opened her eyes, sunlight was already streaming onto the bed, and she was very pleased with her choice of room.
Upon getting up, she found Yin Yang was already awake, watering the flowers in the courtyard, with a well conveniently located for water access.
"Mumu, you’re awake. There are buns warming in the pot; I bought them from the state-owned restaurant," Yin Yang said. After watering, he retrieved a pair of scissors to trim the rose bushes to keep them from spreading everywhere.
"Wow, it’s already nine-thirty. I haven’t gotten up this late in a long time," Xu Mumu remarked, glancing at her watch and realizing why the sun was shining on the bed.
Upon entering the kitchen, she found the kettle still had hot water, from which she poured a little to wash her face, then opened the lid of the pot, discovering two big meat buns and a boiled egg inside.
The eggs were ones Madam Chen prepared for them but had not yet been finished; three remained as Xu Mumu bit into a bun, noting the boiled egg wasn’t unpleasant.
"When are we going to help your grandpa move his things?" Xu Mumu asked while eating the bun. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
"After you finish eating, we’ll head over. Bring your admission letter too; we can register while we’re there," Yin Yang said, turning to her.
"Sounds good," Xu Mumu nodded, planning to get the registration done early and rest for a few days.
After breakfast, the two gathered their things and headed to Imperial University. Yin Yang’s courtyard was just a ten-minute walk from the university, making it quite convenient.
There were even more people today than yesterday. Yin Yang first accompanied Xu Mumu to register, and after paying, went to register himself.
As the two gracefully departed, those from Huaxia University lamented; it was rare to find such attractive people, and these two happened to be a pair, leaving many feeling quite regretful.
"Ah, the junior schoolmate already has a partner," commented the student in charge of registration with a sigh.
