Chapter 294: Chapter 13: Sweet Dreams

In the evening, Professor Shen and Professor An came together, and Professor Gu and Professor Jian had already returned early.

When Professor Shen arrived, he brought a small jar of wine, clearly planning to have a good drink that evening.

However, there wasn’t much wine, and once divided, there wasn’t much for everyone to drink.

Xu Mumu was busy in the kitchen, with Mrs. Liu helping her out. Ever since she hired Mrs. Liu, Xu Mumu rarely cooked herself, because Mrs. Liu’s cooking skills were better, and anyway, she didn’t particularly enjoy being in the kitchen.

Once the dishes were served, Xu Mumu placed the lighter ones near Yin Yang: "You’re not well yet, so don’t eat too much of the strongly flavored dishes."

"Yes, yes, listen to Mumu; you need to heal yourself. Ah, this rabbit is cooked well, perfectly spicy. Old Shen, you should all eat more," Professor Song calmly glanced at his grandson and then warmly welcomed the other professors.

Xu Mumu poured them wine, filling their small cups fully, and the wine jar was left with only half of its contents. Turns out, they could only drink two rounds. Xu Mumu felt relieved; drinking less is good, just having a sip or two occasionally is enough.

The professors showed great self-control, leaving little for her to worry about.

Yin Yang looked at his grandfather with a grievance; tonight’s dishes were prepared by Xu Mumu, but he could only eat the bland ones and porridge; he wanted to eat meat too...

Professor Song and the others paid no heed to Yin Yang’s pleading eyes, eating with immense satisfaction, leaving Yin Yang even more envious.

Xu Mumu was amused by them, not expecting the professors to be this entertaining.

Seeing Yin Yang’s pitiful expression, she picked up a piece of rabbit leg for him. "You can only have this little piece."

"Mumu, I knew you were the best," Yin Yang immediately beamed with joy.

"You can’t keep your mouth shut even when eating." She casually glanced at Yin Yang; he had grown quite thick-skinned. She was gradually becoming immune to his words, unlike before when they would make her blush.

That night, while chatting in the yard, Yin Yang spoke to Xu Mumu about Yun Luo.

"Mumu, I’ve sent Yun Luo back; she won’t be bothering you anymore," Yin Yang said gently.

"That’s good," Xu Mumu nodded, feeling that Yin Yang was quite efficient in resolving this big trouble.

Indeed, in Xu Mumu’s mind, Yun Luo was a big nuisance. Although Yun Luo seemed gentle, she was similar to Yin Yang in her ability to pretend, making Xu Mumu dislike communicating with her.

Now that she was gone, Xu Mumu didn’t have to worry about Yun Luo thinking about Yin Yang or trying to get close to him under her name. She truly didn’t want to deal with Yun Luo.

With this major worry resolved, Xu Mumu felt entirely at ease, slept well that night, had a beautiful dream in which she was lying on a mountain of money.

The next morning, she woke up smiling and then realized she had drooled.

Xu Mumu flushed with embarrassment, quickly changed her pillowcase and pillow towel, then decided to change her bedding too since it was a set, and leaving them mismatched triggered a slight compulsive urge. Once everything was changed, she felt even more comfortable.

Since it was Saturday and there were no classes, Xu Mumu washed the bedding herself. Mrs. Liu wanted to help but was refused by Xu Mumu, as drooling was too embarrassing to let another person know about!

Mrs. Liu didn’t insist; all of Xu Mumu’s clothes were washed by herself too. She doesn’t like others touching her things, even tidying up the room is done by herself.

"Mumu, let’s go for a walk; the weather’s nice today," Yin Yang suggested, noting the bright sunshine — it was a perfect day for a date.

"You’re not healed yet; where do you want to go?" Xu Mumu said playfully while looking up from playing with the pup.

"I don’t feel pain anymore; let’s go for a walk. Staying at home all the time makes me feel moldy," Yin Yang said with a bitter expression, glaring at the big dog snuggling at Xu Mumu’s feet — he guessed it was the dog’s presence keeping Xu Mumu indoors.

"Then I’ll find a leash for the big dog, and we can go for a walk, letting it get some fresh air too," Xu Mumu decided at once to take the dog along after glancing at the obedient pup.

Yin Yang: "..." What on earth makes this dog better than him — she even wants to bring it on dates. He wished he could take it out and leave it somewhere; this dog seemed to be here to square accounts.

So, ultimately, their date turned into a three-member affair, with them and the dog.

The pup, having its first outing with Xu Mumu, was obviously thrilled, eager to run far if not for the leash holding it back.

Even so, the little dog kept scraping the ground here and sniffing there, entirely lively and cheerful.

"Well, our big dog really likes the outdoors. I’ll take you out for a walk every day," Xu Mumu said happily, utterly oblivious to her boyfriend’s plaintive looks — she had completely ignored him.

Yin Yang wore a bitter face, already contemplating how to deal with the dog. It was clear this dog couldn’t stay at their home any longer; it needed to be sent away. He couldn’t possibly serve this dog ancestor.

Thus, when Zhou Yunhong came over the next day, Yin Yang called him to the room for a secret chat, and when he was leaving in the evening, he especially expressed to Xu Mumu how much he liked the pup and that there were rumors of thieves around his area, necessitating a dog to listen out for them.

Professor Jian, Professor Song, and Xu Mumu adored the big dog, so naturally, they wouldn’t give it away. Professor Jian straightforwardly refused.

Then, after returning from Monday’s class, Professor Jian somehow acquired a pure black pup.

"Yun Hong, how about this dog? It’s said to have wolfdog lineage; when it grows up, it’ll surely be impressive, watching over your area and deterring thieves," Professor Jian reluctantly handed the small black pup to Zhou Yunhong, thinking how much he liked this pup too, regretting somewhat at giving it to Yun Hong.

Under Yin Yang’s deadly gaze, Zhou Yunhong silently hugged the black dog, then thanked Professor Jian.

This development was entirely unexpected! But, the small black pup was indeed quite cute, and seemed more imposing than the big puppy with Yin Yang and Xu Mumu; adopting a wolfdog seemed not bad.

Completely oblivious to his friend’s treasonous thoughts, Yin Yang continued watching the two dogs and then Xu Mumu, who, unsurprisingly, liked the little black pup too!

Where did Professor Jian get this dog, gosh! Was it because he had done too many bad things that heaven sent these two dogs to punish him?

"Say something, do you like it? If you don’t, leave it here, and I’ll get another tomorrow," Professor Jian said to Zhou Yunhong.
