A Mate For The Last Lycan-Chapter 221: THE WOMEN’S ROLES
Chapter 221: THE WOMEN’S ROLES
Zuri saved Bryden’s ass because she thought this man could be useful. He was useful. But with the way he annoyed the hell out of her, she started to reconsider her decision.
Her mind was messing with her with the thought of killing this man, so he could stop spouting nonsense. She was going to rip his mouth apart and cut off his tongue...
The cruelty in her mind stopped when Bryden talked again.
"Khaos is tied with the mate bond. He marked you and you are his mate right now, he will not do any harm on you, but you should know better." Bryden took a deep breath. "If you love him and you care about him, you will know that the beauty blood needs to be completed."
Zuri crossed her arms and tilted her head, as if she was boring with this conversation. "So, do you want to say that you know better than Khaos?"
"Don’t put words into my mouth."
"Should I put shit into your mouth instead?" Zuri swatted Bryden’s hand that held the door. "Don’t try to get smart with me, you can be killed."
Bryden narrowed his eyes. He remembered when he interacted with Zuri for the first time, she was indeed fierce, but right now, she was downright nasty.
"You are not stable, aren’t you? The voices in your head are getting louder? Are they told you to do something cruel? Do you even realize that you have changed? The way you act right now and your desire to kill other people, who offended you will cause trouble for Khaos in the future. You will be his downfall, is that what you want?"
"No." Zuri lifted her chin. "I will take him to the peak of his power and I will crush people like you, who always thought that they could overstep their boundaries and got not consequences."
That was a threat. A warning and when Zuri said that, she meant business. She wouldn’t let it go easily.
"You can’t always use violence to fix problem."
Zuri laughed at that statement, as if she just heard the most ridiculous thing ever. She laughed for two minutes straight, which threw Bryden off, as he didn’t know what to do or what to say. She was indeed crazy.
"Are you being hypocrite?" Zuri wiped her tears. "Because that’s exactly what Khaos has been doing. What? Do you think war is not a violence act? Oh, please. Are you naïve, gullible or simply stupid?" Zuri’s expression then changed. "Get lost, before I get rid of you."
Zuri was about to close the door to Bryden’s face when the beta suddenly spoke. "Do you know that it was Khaos, who had caused harm on your baby?"
This was his last desperate attempt to bother Zuri, to put distrust and seed of doubt in their mate bond. He wished, Zuri would be bothered enough and cause trouble for Khaos.
"Hm?" Zuri raised her brows.
"It was Khaos, who had initiated for your miscarriage. That’s his idea."
Zuri laughed again like a maniac. She was really going to lose it. She bent her body and held her stomach, as tears ran down her face and when she was done, her face flushed, mirth danced in her eyes.
"You are so funny. I really need a good laugh." Zuri wiped her tears again. "If you thought you can bother me with that fact, you are completely mistaken. I don’t care and I don’t want a child from that bastard either. I might end up throttle the baby if I really gave birth to them."
Bryden shuddered with Zuri’s last statement. She was not simply saying it, but she meant it. She was going to kill her own baby.
"You will never be a good mother. Khaos shouldn’t have had you as his mate."
"That’s so fancy coming from a man, who was not even there for the birth of his firstborn." Zuri winked at him. "Don’t worry, I will be the best mother for Khaos’s babies. I will give birth to twelve children for him. He mentioned it earlier that he wanted twelve babies."
And after saying that, Zuri closed the door without waiting for his respond.

The ceremony for the new king and queen went smoothly, king Amidas arrived in time for that and now, a week later, Khaos was busy with his meeting with the kings and Ezra.
Even though Rose had never been in the meeting, so did Zuri, but both women knew in detail about how the meeting went. They pulled their influence from behind the closed door.
Their roles might not be significant for the people who didn’t know, but actually, their influence was greater than one could imagine.
Oddly enough, Rose and Zuri had never met with each other, even though they were in the palace, but today, Rose decided to break the unspoken rule and visited Zuri’s palace. She stayed in Khaos’s palace, which was not too far from the main palace.
Currently, Zuri was playing with Shadow, since Ezra came with the wolf. The wolf looked healthy and Zuri was really thankful that Shadow didn’t seem to hate her. The wolf would circle her legs and cuddle with her whenever Khaos was not around.
"Good afternoon, Great Queen Zuri," Rose greeted her.
Zuri raised her brows, amused with the way she addressed her. "Good afternoon," Zuri replied nonchalantly.
"Today is a bright day, why don’t you come with me to have afternoon tea?"
"I am busy," Zuri lied blatantly, as she scratched Shadow’s head. "Just tell me what you want. Are you here to plea for your uncle’s life? You came to the wrong person." Zuri then added with a dangerous smile. "But, don’t even think to come to my mate either."
"I will never do that." Rose blinked her eyes innocently. "That’s men’ business. I have nothing to do with it."
Zuri smiled. "Oh, Rose... you don’t need to be dumb. Both of us know our roles."
