A Mate For The Last Lycan-Chapter 222: I LIKE YOUR WICKEDNESS
Chapter 222: I LIKE YOUR WICKEDNESS
Rose’s uncle was part of the people, who had betrayed the lycan three decades ago and Khaos demanded his head, but he was the king’s little brother and king Amidas had been very adamant to not give up his brother, he had been trying to assuage Khaos by offering a lot of things.
From the information that they had gathered, Sir Lorent was a respective figure, he was an advisor for king Amidas, just like how Khaos used to be an advisor for Dacre, even though king Amidas took precaution, he didn’t hand over all the warrior’s power and control over to his brother.
In that part, king Amidas was smarter than Dacre, or it might be because Lorent was not as smart as Khaos to gain the king’s full trust.
"Drop the act, I don’t have time. I am busy." Zuri sat down on a bench and scratched the spot on the back of Shadow’s ear and the wolf looked like a dog now, as it rested its head on Zuri’s lap, happily accepting the treat.
Meanwhile, Rose was still standing in front of her, by the norm, she was not allowed to sit down if Zuri didn’t give the permission verbally to her. It would be seen as disrespectful act and the last thing that Rose wanted to do was to disrespect Zuri.
"You are very clever my Great Queen," Rose flattered her. She had a penchant for flattery. "Yes, I am here on behalf of my uncle. Please, reconsider it. My uncle only went to the war under my grandfather’s order."
"Yes, unfortunately your grandfather had died." Zuri crossed her leg and rested her hand on Shadow’s body, she lifted her head to look at her. The wolf whined when Zuri stopped scratching its head. Spoiled. "If Khaos has to pardon all the people, who had massacred his people just because they did it under your grandfather’s order, then in another word, are you trying to say that he has to be benevolent and forget his revenge?"
"No, that’s not what I meant." Rose shook her head.
If Rose had a penchant for flattery then Zuri obviously had a penchant for twisting words, after all, she had already had a twisted mind.
Zuri sighed, feigning concern. "Khaos is already kind enough to not punish king Amidas. He was there in the massacre too." She stared at Rose. "How worth it Sir Lorent is?"
Rose didn’t answer Zuri immediately, she knew this question was a trap, she needed to think of a way to answer that.
"He is our valuable advisor," Rose finally replied with the fact, since that was a public knowledge.
"Losing an advisor or two is worth it rather than incurred the lycan’s wrath, don’t you think?" Zuri smiled softly at her. "Khaos is losing his patient with your father now."
"Spare him and we will agree to your request." Rose also couldn’t understand why he was so adamant to save his little brother. He cherished him, but in Rose’s opinion, it was more practical to give him up.
"Do you really think you can make a bargain like this with us? You will agree to our request, whether you like it or not." Zuri smiled wickedly. She scratched Shadow’s head again, so the wolf would stop nudging her hand.
She was right in that matter, because Khaos could have brought war to their door. More so, it was risky, since king Amidas was in their clutch.
"We don’t want bloodshed."
"Oh, right. You love peace." Zuri sighed deeply. "You should care more about this kingdom, rather than thinking about Wolfdale. Let’s man having their discussion."
"I love this kingdom, but Sir Lorent is my kin. I want to try to help. After all, a good relation between two kingdoms is really important, don’t you think?"
"You are always about good relation." Zuri leaned her back, sitting comfortably, while Rose was still standing. She kept this conversation long because she wanted to see her suffering a little bit. It felt good. "Fine I will help you. With conditions."
Rose hated it when Zuri acted smugly like this, but she was not in the position to retort her. She could see her mark peeked from the collar of her dress, Khaos’s mark. She really wanted it. Until now, Logan had not yet marked her, but she didn’t really care.
Logan didn’t have the alpha’s blood ran in his veins, he was a beta and by nature, as a beta, he followed order and it was pretty easy to control him to do her bidding, once you knew the right word to say.
That was was within her palm. Logan might be the king, but it was Rose, who made the decision behind the scene.
"Anything, my Great Queen."
"Don’t say that," Zuri chuckled. "You might regret it."
And Zuri told her about the conditions that she had in order to help her uncle. She was right, Rose regretted it, but there was no other way, because Zuri made it that way.
She cornered them, leaving them with no choice.
"I told you, leave it to me," Zuri said softly, as she mewled in Khaos’s arms. The lycan laid on her back, using his elbows to support his body, so he wouldn’t put all of his weight on her. He kissed her bare shoulder, as they talked about their day.
"You are brilliant."
"Do you think she will agree?" Zuri had a second thought, she closed her eyes when Khaos caressed the side of her body.
"She will agree."
Zuri had proposed for Khaos not to give any condition to king Amidas and simply frustrated the king by insisting to kill his brother.
Instead, they would use the ’subtle’ way.
This was where the woman played their roles.
If it was Khaos, who requested for king Amidas to step down from his throne, he would resist and it wouldn’t reflect good on Khaos, but if the idea came from king Amidas himself, it wouldn’t impact him in the public’s eyes.
"I like your wickedness." Khaos nibbled on her neck.
