Chapter 239: I AM NOT GOING TO HURT YOU

[Zuri.]

Khaos called for her and this startled her awake, because his voice was so close. He used mindlink to reach to her, but it was not very clear. It almost felt like Zuri misheard it.

But then, she heard it again.

[Zuri...]

His voice sounded desperate and helpless. It was only his name that he said, but Zuri could feel a lot of emotions in it.

From the sound of it, Zuri could say that Khaos had followed her but he was too far, so his voice in her mind was very quiet, if it was not for the fact that Zuri had been waiting for his voice to come, she wouldn’t have heard him.

Yet, she hoped, she was not crazy enough to imagine it.

[Zuri...]

He was there. His voice was not a manifest of craziness.

After hearing that, Zuri tried to mindlink him also. But, it was very quiet at the other end. He was too far. She didn’t like it. She wanted to hear his voice again and somehow the memory of him became very distant.

When Zuri tried to reach to him again, the voices in her head made another disruption. They started screaming at her again. She hated this. She hated the fact that it was Xaden who was sitting next to her instead of Khaos.

If she had to imagine someone, she would like to have Khaos, even if it was only an illusion. However, it was Xaden, who had accompanied her all this time.

The man was there all the time, taunting her about her situation. He didn’t even take a pity with the fact that Zuri was bleeding from the silver chain.

’You see, you put yourself in this situation, you put yourself in this misery.’

’Don’t cry.’

’You know that you are the one who make it difficult. You put yourself in misery, and I know that you like it.’

’You only try to get an attention for yourself, right?’

’After all, you got off with the pain. I shouldn’t have felt bad when I hurt you when I fucked you, because that was how you like it, right?’

That was what Xaden said to Zuri.

And while she was struggling when she had to deal with Xaden’s mocking voice, the carriage stopped and Lorent entered, he approached Zuri. He looked very livid. He knew that Khaos had followed him and he was not going to let him have his way.

After all, he was the advisor for the king. One trait that you had to have when you were an advisor for the king would be the ability to scheming, you need to be very cunning.

You could say Lorent was like Khaos for this case because he was the mastermind behind how the Kingdom operated.

"Take off your clothes," He said and Zuri laughed at him.

"Take off my clothes?" She scowled derisively at him. "Can’t you see my hands are tied together? How do you expect me to take off my clothes, stupid? Zuri blurted out profanities, as she glared at him and Xaden laughed.

’It’s not only me, who wanted to see you naked.’

Zuri ignored that comment, but Xaden looked at her with amusement and admiration but also disgust. He disgusted her, but at the same time, he only lived in her mind, so there was nothing he could do about it.

Meanwhile, Lorent looked livid. He was enraged, which caused him to breath unevenly. He didn’t appreciate the name calling, but then he didn’t have time for the pettiness. That was why he immediately released her hands from the restraint with a threat.

"If you dare to do something funny, I am going to kill you. Forget about meeting with Khaos, you are not going to meet anyone else, if you try to run away from me."

Zuri heard that, but she said nothing. She waited until Lorent released her hands.

"Now take off your clothes."

Zuri didn’t need to ask why this man was very vulgar and wanted her to take off her clothes. He must have wanted to distracted Khaos by tricking him, so he couldn’t follow them, but Zuri wouldn’t let him do that.

The moment he released her hand, she immediately clawed his eyes. He attacked his eyes first because it would immobilize him. That was what Gayle had taught her when they were in training a few months ago.

It worked, and when Lorent was screaming profanity at her, she kicked him away and immediately jumped out from the carriage.

Zuri ran away as fast as she could because the pain from the silver prevented her from shifting into her beast, which was pretty inconvenience because she could be caught anytime soon, since she didn’t have the ability to outrun them in her current condition.

Her only chance was to run away from them, but it would be hard to outrun the warriors, as they had shifted into their beasts. To come after her.

Zuri ran as fast as her leg could take her, but it only a matter of time before they caught up to her. Her breathing became so heavy, the air refused to enter her burning lungs. And right now, they were already here.

They surrounded her and was ready to take her down. They were ready to kill her for what she had done to Lorent.

"No! Stop!"

Lorent shifted back into his human form, stopping them from attacking Zuri at once, since they were very angry at this woman.

"I want her alive." Because no matter what, his mate was still in Khaos hand.

To Zuri’s annoyance, Lorent’s eyes had healed. She really needed to gauge them out instead only clawing at them.

"Come here peacefully, Zuri. You only wasted your time. I am not going to hurt you," Lorent said assertively.

"Should I be grateful for that?" Zuri gritted her teeth, her hands were hurt so bad whenever she moved them. Blood still trickled down on the ground.
