A Mate For The Last Lycan-Chapter 258: THE COMPLETION OF THE BEAUTY BLOOD (7)

Bryden didn’t expect to see Khaos was there, he thought it would take a few days before he finally arrived at Celeste kingdom, after all the travel from Three Deadly Ways to here would take days.

"Khaos...?" Bryden was ecstatic to see Khaos. He was thrilled to know how things had unfolded after the completion of the beauty blood.

He was curious to know what kind of power that Khaos was holding, but little did he know, he was going to find out and taste his power firsthand.

"How could you be here?" Bryden rushed toward Khaos.

The night was quiet, everyone had fallen asleep and only those warriors, who had duty to patrol the area, who would be seen in the distance.

However, Bryden’s excitement didn’t last for long, because suddenly, his body couldn’t move. He was not able to take a step forward, but then the numbness spread from his legs up to his waist and then his arms, to the point he couldn’t move at all.

Aside from his head, all of his body was not functioning.

"Kh- Khaos?" Bryden looked confused. Somehow, he knew it was Khaos, who had done this. Now, he was pretty close with the lycan, he could feel the rage that permeated in the air.

He shouldn’t be surprised to feel the wrath of the alpha, but somehow, he was pretty taken aback when Khaos moved closer toward him.

Now, they were in close proximity, he could see his red eyes and not only that, the way he moved... it almost looked like he didn’t even move his legs.

"What the meaning of this?" Bryden shivered. His whole body would be trembling if he could move, but unfortunately, he couldn’t...

Khaos said nothing, he simply moved closer toward Bryden. His red eyes shone brightly. They were the color of blood and Bryden could feel the fear that finally crept in.

"Khaos... I know you are angry for what happened to Zuri. But, can’t you see now? We have completed the beauty blood, we are a step closer to our goal." Bryden tried to make Khaos saw sense, but there was nothing he said, worked. "See the situation now, you need to be logical."

Khaos lost all of his logic when he thought he lost her. He was so close of losing her. Probably, he already lost her...

The only thing that kept him sane was the fact that the mate bond had not been severed, which meant she was still alive.

There was still hope.

And that was the same hope that tortured him.

"Khaos, please..." Bryden begged him. His eyes widened when he saw the shadow behind Khaos moved, as if the shadow had mind on its own. "Khaos... what is that?"

Bryden only heard of how powerful the lycan after the completion of the beauty blood, but he didn’t know the detail of it.

"Khaos, the shadow..." He was dumbstruck when the shadow took a shape of a huge bat, with its wing spread so wide, it crept on the ground and the walls. "You... you are controlling the shadow?"

Khaos didn’t answer him, but the shadow then crept on Bryden’s body, it was very slow and Bryden could feel it. It was like a snake slithered on his skin.

"Khaos!" Bryden started to panic when the shadow crept on his chest, covered him with it, as if the darkness was going to devour him. "KHAOS!"

Khaos didn’t budge. He didn’t even flinch when Bryden’s eyes filled with horror, as he pleaded with him. Panic set it when the shadow reached his mouth and he couldn’t even make a sound and then it reached his nose, where he couldn’t breathe and then his eyes, which didn’t allow him to see...

And Bryden disappeared. He vanished in the shadow, leaving Khaos was alone there, standing in the hallway.

Khaos must have been deep in his thought, as he didn’t realize Rose had been watching the entire thing. She covered her mouth to prevent herself from making any sound.

She was terrified by what she just witnessed.

Did Khaos kill Bryden? There was no blood, there was no dead body, there was nothing. It was so clean. Bryden just vanished.

Her whole body was trembling in fear. She had never seen anything like this, not even the black magic user from the Terrence family could accomplish such thing.

Was this the real power of the lycan?

Khaos was... very powerful. What else he could do?

Rose gathered her courage and tried to take a peek from where she was standing, but when she looked at the hallway, it was already empty. Khaos was nowhere to be found...

He had vanished just like how he got rid of Bryden.

"Do you know what happened to her? Do you know how to heal her?" Gayle asked, he was worried. He kept moving back and forth inside the tent, which only added to Dezgar’s stress.

"Can you stop moving around? You give me a headache!" Dezgar growled at him.

Gayle glared at him back. "Stop worrying about me. You need to worry about yourself. Khaos will definitely kill you if still couldn’t wake her up."

Dezgar really wanted to kick this man out of the tent, but he didn’t have any strength to be spared to argue with him.

"Those magic users, who Khaos had killed could be you." Gayle stared at Zuri’s sleeping face. He touched her cheek and it felt warm. She looked like she simply fell asleep.

Dezgar didn’t comment on that. He knew the struggle within the black magic user. Elijah was actually pretty good as a leader, as he managed to keep everyone in check.

"When do you think Khaos will return?" Dezgar stared at the tent wall, he still remembered how the shadow crept on it, as if it was a creature from the dark.

"I am not sure. But, I don’t think he will be happy to see Zuri is still unconscious."

Gayle was more concern about what Khaos was actually doing right now. He had a bad feeling. Bryden and Ezra must be behind all of this and if Gayle could tell, there was no way Khaos couldn’t.

"Why Khaos sent you here?" Mabel asked Caiden when she saw her firstborn was in the Greywolf pack, he just entered the pack house and that was the first thing that his mother asked him. "You shouldn’t be here. What is it? Khaos kicked you away again? What have you done now?" Mabel actually looked very disappointed.

Caiden frowned, he had been feeling very distraught when he was ordered to stay in the Greywolf pack, but even more with Khaos’s last word.

However, before Mabel could interrogate him more with questions, the twin had rushed toward his brother and screamed excitedly. "Caiden!"

Mave was the first, who reached Caiden and jumped on him, asking to be carried. The twins were so happy to see him here, which was very suspicious.

"I miss you so much, you know!?" Mave kissed his cheek, while Otis hugged Caiden’s leg.

"I don’t believe you." Caiden narrowed his eyes at Mave, as he ruffled Otis’s head. He saw Rian stood at the side. He was a sweet kid, Caiden wished Rian could influence his twin brothers to be more calm.

Yet, it was proven that was only his wishful thinking. It was already great enough that Mave and Otis didn’t give bad influence to Rian.

"Go back inside your room, it’s already very late." Mabel approached them. Her intention was very clear, she was going to interrogate Caide about the fact that he was here.

"No, we want to hear great story about his journey!" Otis protested and Mave was about to join his twin when they saw the look on their mother’s face and it instantly shut them up.

"Go back to your room," Caiden said, as he put down Mave. He ruffled their head and walked back to their bedroom with dejected look on their faces, while Rian waved at Caiden.

But, Caiden stretched out his hand and ruffled his head too, which made the little boy’s lit up and he smiled sheepishly. He must have been missing his brother.

"What do you want to talk about?" Caiden asked the moment they were alone, Mabel glared at him when she sensed the disrespect.

"Watch the way how you talked to your parent," Mabel said assertively.

"I am tired, mother. If you don’t want to tell me what is the problem, I am going to get some rest." He couldn’t deal with his mother right now when his mind was a mess, he still couldn’t figure out what the reason Khaos sent him back to the pack.

"How dare... arrggh!"

Suddenly Mabel was screaming, she bent her body forward and knelt down so fast, you could hear the sound of her knees hit the floor, but she didn’t even feel the pain.

"Mother!" Caiden immediately rushed toward his mother and held her. "What’s going on!?"

However, Mabel couldn’t answer his question, she kept clutching her chest and screaming on the top of her lungs, which made the twins rushed back to see what happened.

"Mom..." Mave looked like he was about to cry, but before he could approach his mother, Caiden had ordered them to get the healer.

"Mother...?" Caiden tried to soothe her pain, but a dreadful thought came into his mind. He knew what happened to his mother and why she was in so much pain.

He knew what actually was happening and the meaning behind Khaos’s last word...
