Chapter 42: Clue (2)

"Did that man have an eye injury or was he with a fat man and a woman?"

When Light asked this question, the boy lowered his head and started crying after only a few seconds.

"Sob----Yes.... three of them broke into our house...then they took my mum and dad away, and my sister. Then they told me to come and see them later and then they brought me here."

When Light heard this, he realised that he was starting to lose his nerve, but this would not be the final straw:

"The same thing happened to me, when will I see my brother and sister?"

"My nanny disappeared too..."

"I miss my mum too---sob---"

Light was destroyed by a dozen children muttering such things and crying. He knew first-hand how dangerous it would be to have such feelings in the apocalypse, after all, he had been left to die for such a thing.

Still, it was as if his heart and brain didn’t want to allow such a thing.

Just then, Light’s hands glowed again and there were almost four dozen chocolate milkshakes in the room.

"This is your reward for helping me, work hard and help the people here, and I’ll punish the bad guy." Light said, patting the head of the boy who had given him the information and then moving towards the door of the room to leave the place.

"Then it’s time to fulfil my promise to you,’ Light had said, and now he could pay his debt."

-----

"As I have offered you, and more. If you wish to make another trade, say so now, or we shall not see each other for some time, if not for a very long time."

When Light re-entered the castle, he gave the group what he had promised.

"Thank you for all these things, I don’t know how we can repay you." said a young man from the group, but as soon as Light heard this, he said, "If we think logically, I should give you food for another hundred people because of the information I received, but that was not the deal."

However, his work in Warwick Castle was over now, maybe in the future he would see a few bastards in this group, but then he could solve things the way he told George.

Just before entering the castle, Light had given both George, Olivia and the rest of the group the names of the people they had helped and had managed to clear the camp for the time being.

Afterwards, he told them, "Authority can sometimes save lives, especially in a situation like this, Mr George. I know you have good intentions, but never forget that good intentions can lead you to death, just like my group member. Watch your back, don’t let everyone into your group, don’t be nice to everyone."

This advice seemed to have opened the eyes of the group because all the names he gave to the group were immediately thrown out of the camp, fortunately, those who were thrown out did not have families Light was so sure that most of them were bastards who left their families behind and ran away, there was no trace of Luke, although Light had no desire to look for him.

After all, a bastard like him should have gone to hell.

However, having arrived at the outer gate of the castle, Light stood with his snowmobile out of Sub-Space and spoke to the group and the people they had taken into the camp, looking back before jumping on the engine:

"If you are alive in the future, remember me. I am the leader of the Scavengers, my group is not very large, but each of us is skilled in our ways. We buy knowledge, ideas and sometimes power. I am one of the few who can help you in this apocalypse with little request and my group is full of my bandits. Remember me. My name is Ahas, Ahas the merchant."

It was time to leave the castle, and when Light got on his motorbike, the crow symbol on the hoodie he was wearing was visible. The red sun was beating down from above and the crow mask revealed his scavenging.

The first structure of the scavenger group was laid here today.

-----

"Percy, we’ve just received word that we’re wanted by the Forsaken."

Percy turned his head at these words and saw a gigantic figure in front of him, staring at him and his nerves seemed to be rising because of what he heard.

There was something he had crushed with his foot, moans were coming from the floor, and the sounds of crying were spreading across the room.

"Ple-----Le-me-go....."

Percy seemed to have found himself a new toy, he had been wanted by a lot of groups lately, and he had killed a lot of people, not only him but Liam and Karen had hurt a lot of people, killed a lot and pissed off a lot of the living.

Since the world had gone to shit killers like him had found a new hope for survival, it was easy for them to kill and even easier to steal from those they killed.

"WHATEVER!" shouted Percy as he suddenly brought the crude knife down where the sound had come from, stepping over the blood spattering around him, past Liam and out of the building.

"PUHAHA! AIN’T THE WHOLE ENGLAND OURS?" shouted Percy, even though neither Liam nor Karen knew why they trusted him so much, they still seemed sure that they wouldn’t die if he was with them.

Only the eyes of God knew what would happen in the future, these killers were even more brutal than expected, there was no end to the people they killed, the cannibalism they committed, the slaves they created and the people they deceived.

Now there was only one thing they wanted to know; their plan had been perfect, even when they had delivered the children to the Forsaken, but what had happened that could have revealed what they had done?

Who could have done this?

Could revenge be taken?
