A Regressor's Guide to the Frozen Apocalypse-Chapter 71: Unknown Religious Symbols
Chapter 71: Unknown Religious Symbols
It had been nearly fifteen days. Light and the others had managed to complete the construction of the huts, together with some very in-depth sketches. In all, 40 huts had been built.
The end of the fifth month had come and there was only one day left before the start of the sixth month after the apocalypse.
Light was stressed. He hadn’t heard from Elise all this time.
There had been no return from the communicators he had given to Elise, no communication of any kind, and this was terrible news, yet he had refused to leave until he was well, and Light had to be prepared.
He had ordered all the men under his command to get a good rest, every man who could fight this time, literally every man who could fight, was to come with Light to Birmingham.
If there was a problem, Light would solve it from the bottom.
Petunia had made masks for Leonard and Charles at the request of her younger brother. These two masks were fox masks. These masks in two different colours represented the upper echelons of the group.
In short, Light had increased the rank of these two. Hierarchy was necessary if order within the group was to be maintained, the whole group had to understand this, no matter how well-intentioned they were:
The leader’s orders could not be questioned.
As the red sun of the next day began to appear in the sky, three large vehicles were carrying exactly twenty-five people.
There were not many in the group who knew how to use weapons, but after a short teaching session, a few people had learnt to use their hands.
This meant that as long as these people didn’t screw up, everything could go in a good direction.
After all, even the strongest sportsman, like everyone else, starts to train himself from the beginning, something that is necessary even in the use of weapons.
Powys to Birmingham was normally a maximum of two hours, but the snow had started to fall again and made everything a problem.
It was windy, there was not a storm, but there was a good snowfall and there was a deep fog on top of it. freewebnøvel_com
Thanks to the big car headlights, everything was in good condition, but it was still necessary to be careful.
That’s why this journey was going to take much longer than expected.
After only two hours Light started to notice things on the road, they were now in Bridgnorth, in short, incredibly close to Birmingham.
What Light noticed were the symbols drawn around the road and on the signs...
When Light got down from the vehicle, he approached the signs where these symbols were drawn, and then a strange feeling surrounded his heart.
He felt bad.
"Blood..." said Light to himself.
The main source of each of these symbols seemed to be the same, they were drawn with blood. Each symbol was not different from the other, of course, four different symbols were repeatedly drawn in different places.
A broken sun, a broken dagger, a broken sword and a broken tamay. Religious symbols are drawn incorrectly or frighteningly.
When Light checked carefully, he turned back to return to the vehicle and then realised that he had stepped on something very hard.
This thing he stepped on was as hard as ice. Normally, he would have thought that this hardness was icing caused by the cold, but that strange and bad feeling inside him seemed to trap him.
He reached into his inventory and pulled out a shovel, and after almost ten seconds of digging, he was confronted with a nauseating sight.
The fact that a few of the group members who had already joined him started to vomit when they saw the same image as Light seemed to show how awful it was.
A female human body had been dismembered and turned ice-cold as if it had been freshly cut.
Even Light was sick to his stomach, he had seen so many people killed, he had had several dozen people killed because of his ability alone, and they were all bad people.
"Who would do this...?" Lillia questioned. The anger was evident on the woman’s face, and Lillia wasn’t the only one.
Even the group members she had just recruited to the Scavengers were burning with sadness and anger.
What Light was thinking about was who or who could have done this.
Just as he was turning these thoughts in his mind, he heard a voice, a voice churning in his mind:
"YOU MUST DESTROY THE CHURCH!!!"
As soon as he heard this voice, he turned back and then looked at all the signs and even the symbols engraved on the trees one by one.
He didn’t expect this thing he had dreamt about, that his subconscious had shown him, to be real. Although he still didn’t know whether it was related to the church or not, it would be wrong to think about it directly...
He saw several religious symbols, he didn’t know what they were, but what he was most curious about was the sword drawn in a large drawing. And what did the sword symbolise?
"They use religious symbols, I assume they are religious symbols, but they commit murder... Medieval ruffians!" Light said in a short voice.
There were dozens of questions in his mind. How did he know all this? How did his subconscious show him that dream? There was no ability to see the future in the System profile.
But what exactly had happened that he had started to encounter these symbols right after he had that dream?
Dozens of questions swirled in his mind, but there was nothing he could do.
He had already spent enough time, now he had to get to Birmingham, he had to find Elise.
"May God rest her soul," Light suddenly said, and throwing the snow layer over the woman’s body, he ordered the whole group to get into the vehicles.
There wasn’t much of a direction for the group’s anger to head in at the moment, after all, it would be impossible to tell where to head until they knew everything.
They had to move on.
