Chapter 98: For The Future

When Light opened his eyes again, he didn’t realise how much time had passed.

There was no sign of pain in his body, everything was in an incredibly comfortable state, and he felt so refreshed that he did not even know how to describe this situation.

The only thing he knew was that everything was in very good condition.

He had lifted himself from where he was lying, albeit with difficulty. When he looked around, he couldn’t help but say, "Fuck me, mate....".

He could see dried blood strewn about for fifteen or twenty metres.

He couldn’t understand how so much blood could come out of him, maybe it was because his body was constantly being broken and regenerated that everything managed to recover to a good condition, in short, his blood must be constantly regenerated.

Still, it was a huge amount, there must have been tens of litres of blood here and it was all dried up. This meant that perhaps he had been unconscious for only ten minutes, or perhaps he had been lying here unconscious for tens of hours.

A small amount of blood would start to dry in 1-3 minutes and would be completely dry in 5-10 minutes. However, since Light’s inventory was something a little different, maybe it didn’t work that way.

Light stretched out his hand and a large mirror from a different corner of his inventory formed in front of him. When he looked at himself, of course, he could see that all his clothes were red from the blood.

Yet he could see that his appearance had not changed, just as the system had said.

"System...what now?" Light suddenly asked.

[You have to wait for a while, sir, I do not recommend you to do anything for at least ten days, the system will undergo a major update, and the System Shop will experience an improvement as a result of the mutation you have undergone and will be presented to you with your rewards.

I sincerely congratulate you for successfully passing your first mutation].

Light smiled when he read what was written in the system window, and then said "Alright..." and suddenly left his inventory.

He was lucky, no one was in his room, he was sure that if his sister or anyone else saw him like this, they would faint from fear.

Even Light’s hair had a dry look due to the high amount of blood.

That’s why Light took off every single piece of clothing he was wearing and then went straight to the bathroom. He had spent exactly two hours cleaning himself. He cleaned himself until there was not even a spot of blood on his body.

Her body was incredibly comfortable, she realised this immediately after taking a shower.

After making sure that his body did not smell of blood, he left his room and then went downstairs. She could hear the great commotion in the living room:

"I never thought she would go away without telling us, I’m going crazy..." Petunia complained.

"It’s been three days, we should go looking for him, what if something happens to him?" Elise replied. frёewebnoѵēl.com

"He’s not that weak, we just need to calm down a little and trust him, but it’s not a bad idea to organise a search party," Pacifica added.

The trio talked amongst themselves while Lawrence poured them each a cup of tea.

At that moment, Light was spotted by Lawrence himself and he moved forward and took another cup out of the cupboard. It helped that the living room and kitchen were connected.

"Good morning, sir, we have hot green tea, here you go," Lawrence said abruptly.

With those words, Petunia, Pacifica and Elise suddenly stood up and looked at Light in a rather angry manner.

"Sup?" Light said.

"I am going to murder you." Petunia muttered and then added, "Where were you?"

"I was doing something with my inventory," Light replied.

"For 3 days? It would have been nice if you had told us that it would take so long." replied Petunia, and then she gave her little brother a big hug and added, "At least let me know." After adding, she lay down on the sofa and closed her eyes as if she was relieved.

Light then turned to Lawrence and said, "I’m incredibly hungry, I could eat ten large pizzas, Lawrence."

Lawrence’s orders were clear, he had to start cooking immediately.

Light took a deep breath and then tried to avoid the pair of Pacifica and Elise who had just walked up to him, not saying anything and not even bothering to look at them.

In short, Light thought they were going to scold him.

"We’re glad you’re alright...We were going crazy with stress." Elise suddenly muttered, and she was right, if Pacifica hadn’t been holding her, Elise would have already been looking out with the soldiers.

"Cough...It’s all my fault, I’ll try to let you know next time." Light muttered and then reached into his inventory pulled out five ice cream packs and gave everyone an ice cream.

Light had had his sister’s ice cream put in the cupboard, though, since Petunia had stayed awake for him.

However, the family had a good feast of food with Lawrence’s cooking, and they managed to provide a great feast for the people outside.

The fact that Light still had hundreds of zombie cores in his inventory had once again put him in that state of excitement, but he still wanted to do everything once the system was back online.

His body was tired too, and since the system wanted him to rest for about 10 days, he would not go out during this period.

He would stay at home, maybe play games and eat, do his daily exercise and sleep again.

While he did this, outside Jack was strengthening his zombies, Charles and Lawrence were constantly training their patrol groups, Aurora was trying to find ways to make the wood huts stronger, and his enemies were working on deeper plans.

After all, it had only just begun.
