Chapter 455: Ore Golem frёewebηovel.cѳm

The golem that Adelaide pointed to is indeed much different than the other golems. While the others have very visible ore colors on their bodies, like iron, copper, and gold, the golem she pointed out is much different, as it contains blue, white, green, red, and a few more colors unique to the rest of the golems.

But just because it has various colors doesn’t mean the ore that they are looking for is present there. But because Elaina doesn’t doubt her children, she swoops in to attack the golem.

Golems are structures that run with a core. To kill a golem, one needs to either wear it down the golem which is harder to do or kill it by destroying the core that causes it to move and function, as it acts as its brain and heart. Without it, they are going to crumble, and sometimes, they will turn to dust as the core is the only thing that is keeping that golem solid and walking.

And although they can kill the golem this time around, Elaina doesn’t want to risk crumbling the Orichalcum they were looking for.

"Mom, shouldn’t we kill this golem first before we mine them?"

Elaina shook her head. "Leave this to me. Just tell me where you found the ore, and I will mine it. You guys should distract the other golems so that I can focus on mining the ore we need.

"If it is a distraction, then we can do that! We don’t need to kill it, yes?" Raye asked to confirm.

"Yes. Just make sure the other golems don’t try to get close to this particular golem, and we can do this!"

Arthur and Raye looked at each other and grinned.

"Alright, Raye. How about we do a contest on who can attract more Golem attention? The loser gets to wash the dishes tonight," Arthur grins.

"Heh, I won’t lose this, Arthur. I won’t be washing the plates tonight!"

Adelaide, who is watching on the side, can only shake her head and chuckle. "I wish I had the same enthusiasm as them."

Then, she looked at Elaina who is rummaging her dimensional storage bag. "Mom, the golem is big, and from the looks of it, the ore is located on the head. Are you going to try and climb that golem?"

Elaina smiled at Adelaide. "Don’t worry. Just help pinpoint the exact ore location so that I can quickly finish this and we can escape this floor as soon as we obtain the ore we needed."

Adelaide nodded and used her ability again. Then, she shared her senses with Elaina, allowing her to know the exact location of the ore.

"Now that the location is locked in, Elaina jumped from the rock they were hiding on and landed on the wall near them before wallrunning. Adelaide was surprised to see Elaina do that as she had never have seen her mother move like that before. She might have used her sword skills whenever she trains the First Princess and her siblings, but seeing her move so fast and do some moves that she thought would be impossible without the usage of magic would be impossible...and yet, Elaina is doing it.

As Elaina felt her feet about to slip off the wall from wallrunning, she jumped off the wall and tried to reach the golem, but her hands were a few inches away from it, completely missing...but Elaina quickly adjusted and threw a hook and chain towards the golem’s rocky edges. Whether by stroke of luck or Elaina calculated it, the hook attached itself to the golem, allowing Elaina to get hold of the golem.

Unlike giants that can feel their skin, golems do not feel anything, and even if a part of them is broken, as long as they can still move and remain intact, they will remain oblivious to any damage unless they see the enemy itself. Since Elaina used that technique on the blindside of the golem, she managed to cling to the golem and remain undetected.

With the rope, Elaina started climbing. It wasn’t her first time climbing something like this in the past but the difference with what she was doing now and what she did before when she was still a child is that she has no proper equipment and the only thing she used at that time as hook and chain for herself was a sturdy vineand a stone that she specifically carved to become a hook. Her equipment back then would readily snap if it were used in the wrong way, so it is much more dangerous.

As she easily climbed the golem’s body, Elaina removed the hook from the golem before throwing it higher.

KA-THUNK!

As the hook attaches itself again, this time on the shoulder, Elaina grips the rope tightly and starts climbing fast once again. Unlike in the past, when she climbed a tall ravine to survive the ongoing monster rampage that was happening back then, the golem is not that hard to deal with. The only thing bad is that the golem moves around, and she has to balance herself. Otherwise, it wasn’t that bad.

The Orichalcum deposit that Elaina saw during the shared senses was located near the check area of the golem. Elaina can stand on the shoulders of the golem and mine the ore there. Elaina hoped that the ore itself could be easily removed.

Upon planting her feet on the golem’s shoulder, the golem has already noticed Elaina and is trying to flail around and get rid of Elaina by shaking around. But unlike giants, these golems are just big chunks of rock. Their hands have no fingers and are just big circular boulders attached to a cuboid rock, which makes the golem not a threat at the moment.

But since she can’t trust her balance, Elaina removes the hook on the shoulder before throwing it to the head of the golem. As soon as she threw the hook and chain, the golem made a twist, and Elaina’s feet slipped off the golem.

"Mother!" Adelaide shouted as she saw her mother almost fall. She is ready to cast a spell to lower the speed of her descent, but Elaina is not yet done.

The hook attaches itself to the head, and with a "Ka-thunk" sound, the chain is tight enough. And so, Elaina tightly gripped her hand to the chain, allowing her to plant her feet to the golem’s shoulder.

Without wasting another moment, Elaina pulled out the pickaxe she was carrying on her back and started to mine the orichalcum deposit. She quickly mined it that before the golem could do another attempt to throw her off the body, she had already gotten what she needed. A golden yellowish color of an ore, the Orichalcum was said to look like false gold and less polished gold upon first glance.

Unlike the climb, the descent is easier as Elaina rappels the golem’s body as she slides down the rope to the ground.

With the ore secured, Elaina called the two boys and started running towards the elevator as the golems chased them.

"Let’s get out of here now!"

Adelaide cast a few spells on the golems to slow down their chase of the group before entering the elevator. Once Elaina confirmed everyone was now in the elevator, she pushed the 50th floor, where she would be delivering the Orichalcum ore. The mission is a big and resounding success.
