A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods-Chapter 539: Purify The Corruption [II]

Elaina has been with Pixie for many years already, and she has not doubted that Pixie is just another unfortunate fairy who was left behind by the world and managed to survive the ordeal, only to be left to suffer the aftermath. However, she didn’t have an inkling or even think that Pixie was part of a royal lineage. But here she was, bombarded with the revelation that she was actually a forgotten royalty.

And it was all revealed after the Village Elder of the pixies saw her and called her out.

Pixie got outside of Elaina’s breast pocket and resummoned her wings to fly. She then spoke her mind, correcting the village elder.

"Stop that, Alfred. I am no longer the princess that you once knew. Now, I am just someone named Pixie and someone who has lost their royal wings. I am no longer worthy to be called royalty, and even if I am, there’s no kingdom we will be returning to. There is no point for titles like that to remain."

"Princess, you shouldn’t say that. What would your late parents say about your behavior now if they saw you like that?"

"I don’t know, and I don’t mind what they think. They have already passed away, and I am not worthy to be called a princess if the reason the kingdom was destroyed was because of me," Pixie lamented. Her fists closed tightly.

Elaina, who is listening, interrupts the conversation. "Wait a minute. You guys are acquainted with each other, and Pixie is a princess? Is this true, Pixie?"

Pixie looked at Elaina with sadness on her face and shook her head. "Former Princess. I can’t be called a Princess after the kingdom has fallen, and it isn’t something to be proud of. There’s no need to call me a princess or anything. That title is more useless than anything."

Elaina then turned to the Elder, who was wiping his tears. "So, I assume you are some sort of retainer of the royal family of the pixies or something?"

"Yes. Forgive me for not saying it since it is kind of not a necessary title to reveal in the first place. But with our princess returning, then there is no need for me to hide that title that I was forced to remove due to the circumstances."

Pixie quickly corrected him. "Just so you know, Alfred. I am not returning or anything that involves ruling over fairies or anything. I may be the former princess, but that identity has already died the moment I was captured and the kingdom collapsed overnight."

After saying that, she flies back to Elaina’s breast pocket. "Miss Elaina, we should do what we need to do here. You are here to do something, right? I remember you brought a watering can with you. Perhaps that was connected to why we are here?"

"Ah...yes. That is correct. Elder, can we go and see the World Tree? There’s something I have to test."

The Elder sounds disappointed by Pixie’s actions, but he didn’t turn them away. He escorted both of them deep into the cave. The pixies that the two meet bow like there was royalty passing by them. From the looks of it, even though Pixie has abandoned the idea of returning her royalty title, the pixies still think she is a princess.

Elaina couldn’t see Pixie’s reaction, but considering how Pixie seems not to be bothered by this, it seems she either didn’t care or just outright ignored it overall.

Soon, they arrived at the World Tree once more. The corruption seems to have lessened around the truck, from the looks of it. It seems that the removal of the dragon knight actually contributed to the recovery process of the tree.

The Dragon Knight is also there, but he is observing them and not saying anything. It was like he was currently assessing whether they would be a danger or not. Elaina also noticed Ragunna silently recuperating with the other pixies who were wounded from the previous attack of the worms. He has fewer bandages on his body, but they are still present. Not much, but still a lot.

With that, Elaina pulls out the Blessed Watering Can from her dimensional backpack and shakes it for a bit. Even though there is water inside, she can barely tell unless she shakes it. Water waves shake a bit inside, allowing her to know if there’s water.

"What are you going to use that watering can for?" the Village Elder asked as he eyed the watering can in Elaina’s hands.

"It was a given tool by one of the acquaintances that I am associated with, and he told me that this watering can has the capability to purify corruption and other impurities. Considering that the rot on the world trees seems to be something that can be called part of the corruption or spread of impurities, I think this coincides with what this tool is capable of doing."

She approached the black patches on the ground that were seeping through the roots of the world tree. Although she knows it is just the remnants of the Dragon Knight’s blood that had turned corrupted the longer it was staining the ground, she wanted to see if it was still applicable with the purification abilities of the blessed watering can.

Pouring the water on the ground, a bright light seeps through the ground, and the black spotch on the ground slowly vanish and was replaced with the regular color of the ground.

"Look’s like the watering can is effective, Miss Elaina," Pixie said as she observes the changes on the surrounding areas that Elaina poured water from the watering can.

"What the...How miraculous! The rot is recovering!" The village elder was flabbergasted.

Elaina continues to pour water to the ground as she slowly approach the World Tree. The water might be flowing minimally from the watering can, but every drop is contributing to the purification. The black spots of the ground is slowly disappearing and even the World Tree’s trunk is slowly recovering with how the spots that was colored in black for quite long have slowly recovered and returned to its former color. The tree’s trunk that has slowly gotten black slowly recovered.

"My word...this is truly a miracle worthy to be called a blessing from the gods!" a few old pixies have uttered as they spread their arms in the air.

Elaina continues to observe the process. She didn’t express happiness while pouring water to the affected areas. She remained serious as she make sure the tree is slowly recovering from the rot.

On the other hand, the Dragon Knight that has been observing Elaina for a long time has finally realized why he found Elaina so familiar but couldn’t remember where he meet her. He is still recalling in his memories on how he meet this human woman. His memories might be a bit blurry, but the scenes in his memory involving this woman is a bit more vivid.

However, he is afraid to ask her directly where they could have met before. After all, one look alone and he is quite sure that this woman is someone that is dangerous if provoked. One wrong move, and he is quite sure that this woman will end his life in a flash.
