A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods-Chapter 557: Serpent vs. Dragon (II)

With the seed in hand and the plot of land ready to go, Elaina immediately takes action. Using the hand shovel, she digs small holes on the plot, not too deep but not too shallow. Just enough for the seed to fully remain underneath the soil, while not too deep that it will struggle reaching the surface once it starts to germinate.

Once Elaina has spread the seeds, she then grabs the fertilizer bag and scoops a bit of it. She gently spread the fertilizer above the plot of land while also ensuring that the soil and the fertilizer are evenly spread out.

And with that done, Elaina grab the watering can and water the newly planted seed. Although the God of Farming mentioned that he had already made sure to cut a lot of time for it to grow fast, Elaina is still unsure whether the seed will grow fast enough, even with the help of the fertilizer.

"[You don’t need to be worried, Elaina. I made sure that the seed would grow fast. After all, we are not sure how fast the curse will progress. With the fertilizer, it won’t take long before the seed will grow.]" the God of Farming reassured Elaina.]

"I know that you are just reassuring me, God of Farming. But I still can’t help but be worried about Mier. The little girl is suffering, and although it is being contained right now, that doesn’t mean it will stop from spreading to her body slowly. I want to help her as soon as she can, even though this solution of ours is not even a guaranteed solution that can fix her problem."

The God of Farming did not say anything. After all, if Elaina is already dead set on something, she will not be moved on that until she is good to go.

Elaina decided to observe the plot of land closely and ensure she wouldn’t miss a single thing happening on the plot of land where the seed is planted.

A few moments pass by, and the soil shows some movement. Elaina did not remove her eyes from the soil and continued her observation with great interest. In just a few more seconds of looking, a small green stem slowly peeks out from the soil, wriggling out slowly but surely.

Elaina’s eyes lit up just seeing the small plant fight the soil just to escape and see the light of the world. Just like what the God of Farming had said earlier, the plant is modified to grow faster than it should have.

"How long before this plant enters the maturation stage?" Elaina asked the God of Farming.

"[As I mentioned before, the seed will grow in one day. That includes its maturation stage and the time it takes to bear fruit. So we will immediately see good results today.]" the God of Farming answered. He is confident that they will be able to do something with the plant as soon as possible.

The small stem has already risen high and is now slowly growing its first set of leaves. It has only been a few minutes since Elaina planted the plant, and yet the plant has already grown equivalent to a growing plant that has been growing for at least two weeks. In fact, Elaina can feel that it is growing a lot faster than expected. But she didn’t mind it growing that fast. Since they are short of time, getting the plant to grow as fast as possible is the best scenario they can hope for.

"If this plant grows, how will we use this to alleviate whatever curse is happening on Mier’s hands?" Elaina asked once more.

"[The leaves and the fruit of this plant will be the key to this. Once its first fruit appears, you harvest it, and you also take the oldest leaves that this plant has. Those items are the only things we will be using, as the rest of the work will land on the blessed watering can. I made sure to make the process as simple as I could to ensure that things are working as intended.]" the God of Farming is confident in his work.

"Good. The less complicated things are, the better," Elaina nodded in agreement.

And so, Elaina continues to observe the plant’s growth. It is growing fast, much faster than the fastest-growing plant that Elaina has planted in her entire life, and yet waiting for the first fruit of that same plant is taking quite some time, so she felt that the situation seems to be less more ideal if the matter is observed compared to leaving it aside for a moment and then coming back for the results. The longer she observes the plant, the longer the entire duration seems to be.

"[I suggest that you ask the Harvest Goddess to have the child prepped up for the treatment. Once you return, the plant will be ready for use. Waiting for the plant to bear fruit is just going to be torture for you?]"

Elaina sighed. "Guess I have no choice. I shouldn’t see everything like this. It is a painful wait for me."

The God of Farming sighed and glanced at the plant. Although he made the plant to work properly, he is not sure if his creation will actually work against the curse itself. He is more like betting his gut instinct that everything will go alright. He might be a god, but he is not the creator that is capable of seeing the future and be an omnipotent being. He is just someone who knows how to create plants...

With the God of Farming’s suggestion, Elaina told the Harvest Goddess about the plan and the treatment process that they will be attempting to deal with the curse that Mier is currently suffering from.

"Although I am not sure if this will work, since this is the only thing we can do for now, that is what we will be doing. At least we are doing something with the curse rather than letting it spread further without even an idea when it will disappear. Wait for me, I will carry her out of the pod she is in. I will also relay this information to her mother as well. She has the right to know."

Elaina nodded and sighed. She is not sure anymore about what she is doing. She is quite sure she is not working as a farmer now. After all, this job is no longer in scope with a regular farmer’s job. But it doesn’t matter for Elaina. As long as this matter is dealt with, then everything will be alright.
