A Summoner?-Chapter 132: The Darkness Before Dawn (Part 1)?
Chapter 132: The Darkness Before Dawn (Part 1)? by Harem-Fan
It has been two days on the road.
We have been following our Guild Guide, Lark Sun, into the western trade road.
After this time, both Dial and I have confirmed that the Demonic Energy inside of Lark is real Demonic Energy that is not left by the attacks of Demons.
Plume has also confirmed that Lark Sun has been recently possessed by a Demon of the middle-strength. (Middle Strength is Circles 4th to 6th.)
On a side-note about Monsters and Humans of 1st to 9th Circle Strength... Humans that have Aura and Magic Cores never have an appearance past their 20's, even when they are as old as Evelina Lorelei, King Leonardo Lucas, and Selena's Argus.
The most uptodate nove𝙡s are published on frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓.
This is because the powers in the body constantly keep them at their prime and optimal balance. So a 7th Circle Human Mage on their deathbed will still look like an 18 year old to late 20's female beauty or handsome man when they die of old age, and their bodies still function at the Human age equivalent.
Naturally this is because Humans and Monsters are now Supernatural beings that defies the normal Human physiology. (Also, this is how the Game Designers made it for art purposes, cough.)
This is also the reason birth rates decline to match their new bodies strengths. But to balance Nature's Curse of low reproduction, they are blessed with stronger and stronger offspring in both Aura or Magic.
So in conclusion, Humans with Aura and Magic are Evolved Humans.
Lark in the front of the group, was looking at his map as we stopped for a quick restroom break.
Chuck Donald, who now knows of Lark's true intentions, is now on guard but is still acting friendly, to keep him from noticing our vigilance, asked.
"Sir Lark Sun, our mission is to travel to the Beast Forest to kill Bandits, so why are we heading into the Infinite Canyon Mountains?"
Lark, seeing all of us return to our mounts, points to the entrance to the mountains and explains his lame-excuse.
"Student Donald, the path to the Bandits Hideout is actually through the pass in the mountains. It then turns south and is their secret entrance into the Beast Forest hidden valley. This valley-grove protects them from Demonic Beasts and hides them from the authorities. When we get into the pass, I know a path to let us sneak attack the bandits and avoid being noticed. Trust me."
Frank rolled his eyes at his lame excuse and kept him talking.
"Sir Sun, how many Bandits are there, and why have the authorities not taken action if you know of their secret-base?"
Lark had already thought of his made-up reasons and said with a puffed out chest.
"I only just found out about it the night before I accepted the mission to guide you students, so instead of turning in the bandits, I have concealed it to let you 8 students get the credit for killing the bandit stronghold. This way, if you guys do something great I can earn a big bonus from the Guild."
As our Horses moved, Lark's lust-full eyes still occasionally glanced at Vera and Dial from time to time. All of us can tell he is coveting their bodies, and Vera had to avoid sending Doll to turn Lark into a human shaped pancake multiple times.
Even Grog, who is following our group, has asked Dial to eat Lark many times along the way. Yes, Giants do indeed eat Humans, with ketchup.
I, like Doll and Grog, have really bit my cheek many times to avoid shoving Soul Eater into this guy's gut.
Normally men do not become so lustful openly in the Human society of Myst, but this guy like many Bandits and Demon Cultists are soulless maggots.
As my knuckles tighten on my reins, Dial patted my hand from her horse and said.
"Sam, we will be able to deal with him later. All of us are on guard, and with our Summons, he cannot do anything. Just be a bit more patient. We both have the Red Strings of Fate (paired rings), and cannot be easily ambushed. I will protect half of our group while you take the Vanguard group. Don't be worried about us, because I will summon Atlas when the time comes."
I pat Dial's tender hand on my hand, and said with a calm tone.
"Yeah, just protect them well for me. I do not want a repeat of the Castle in the Undead Lands... You are not allowed to die, got me?"
Vera on my other-side said without showing anger or joy.
"Plume just left with your intelligence letter, it should happen tonight, the sun is setting, and with darkness the Demons should come to spring their trap."
As I nod to Vera, I look back down the road to where my backup is following...
Drake Fulbright wearing his white Royal Knight uniform with the iconic Knight royal blue longcoat saw a figure with white feathered wings fall from the sky ahead of him, outlined by the setting sunlight.
He and the two women in black Rosecrans-like uniforms (secret guard mages) had stopped their mounts.
Over the last two days they have been receiving reports from Princess Vera's Archangel about what is going on ahead, allowing their tailing group to stay further out of sight, to not alert the Demons.
Swoosh! And as Plume landed, she handed the report to the higher ranking Secret Guard Mage, who took it and read the short letter from the Crown Prince.
She said back to Plume and her party.
[The Royal Party is about to enter the pass, so we accelerate to close the distance. Crown Prince Lucas believes they will spring their trap soon. Archangel, please let the Prince know we will obey the order.]
Plume nodded and then cast a spell to fly away...
"Out of sight, and out of mind, for my Master's Love~♪, [Light-Bending Buff]"
As Plume leaped into the air, her body vanished from sight, leaving a few white feathers to fall to the ground.
Drake Fulbright caught one feather, and like a snowflake in summer, the beautiful white feather dissolved into motes of light, leaving only a faint smell of cotton-candy...
(A/N, for those that do not know, the cotton-candy meme is from the movie Michael with John Travolta. Great Angel movie.)
As my group came to the entrance of the brown colored rocky mountain pass, my heart moved...
My Black Clydesdale and I were moved by the sight, and the warm arms hugging my waist from behind.
Plume had arrived unnoticed by others, and she used her Archangel [Telepathy] ability to talk into my mind.
This is one-way telepathy used to bypass language barriers from mortals they speak to. As Plume's hands roamed my chest, she sent her message.
[They said they are coming now, Sam. Don't worry, I will personally slay that Demon loving trash away with my own sword for you and Master. After we slay the Demons, will you let me hold you again in your sleep? I promise to be good?]
Yeah, the past two nights when I slept at Vera's side, Plume held one of my arms while I slept.
Because we do not have relations on missions in the field, Vera doesn't mind that Plume watches us sleep.
Angels, Demons, Undead, Constructs, Golems, and Elementals do not sleep like Humans, they make for the best guards at night.
I patted Plume's tanned thigh and said to her,
"As long as you are good and do not do what you did before, I do not mind at all."
While sniffing my neck, she said in my mind.
[Don't worry, I will not wake you with kisses or licking again, haha.]
"Sigh, And that goes for your hands... And your legs as well..."
Although I cannot see her face, her breathing on my neck shows me that she must be smiling, like a fat woman eyeing a piece of cheesecake.
Plume does not try to do anything sexual at all, but it is like a Dog licking a tasty bone.
This Archangel also told me that my Soul is so bright and strong, that it is like fine-wine for some creatures of the other 12 Planes, particularly those of the Water, Electricity, Light, Life, and Death Planes.
Entities and Monsters from the Planes of Darkness, Time, and even Ice find my Soul rather tempting to devour both spiritually and physically.
[Plume is very good, and I will only protect you for the rest of my life. I really like being at your side, and I am thankful everyday to have accepted Vera's invitation. To find a treasure on Myst was my blessing.]
As her hands became more unscrupulous, I looked at the passage our group was entering...
Infinite Canyon Mountains... The lands separating the Anubis Western Kingdom form the Beast Forest, Northern, and Southern Kingdoms.
The vast mountainous region itself is not what makes this place well known and feared.
It is the many bottomless canyons filling the mountain range.
Anyone who has entered the deep black-abyss of the canyon has never returned to report what is at the bottom of all of the cracks in the earth.
It is guessed that each of the countless chasms are actually one-way portals to the Planes of Time, Darkness, Gravity, or Death.
No one has confirmed this, but experts all agree that this is the only reasonable conclusion, because no magic tool will respond past a certain distance, and the connections to them are cut off but not destroyed.
Many brave and foolish Mage women of high Circle level have braved the descent into the abyss canyons to be the first to report their findings and make history, but to this day, no Mage woman has ever returned with good or bad news.
So now, everyone stays away from the edges of deep darkness. Even Demons and other races, such as Dragons and Undead are no exceptions to this cruel reality.
(There is one way, and it will be revealed later. Foreshadowing, cough. Basically this is not useless information to read.)
