After Breaking Up, I Married the Dying Tycoon in a Flash-Chapter 367: Tender Trap (Part 9)
Xie Zhang initially chose to keep An Jiayi by his side, largely because she appeared to be guileless and a bit clumsy.
Later, he discovered that this facade might just be a disguise.
At that moment of realization, he was actually angry.
So, he had Jiang Yan apologize to her, while at the same time, he did not hesitate to coldly neglect her for several days.
Then later on, she spoke those blatant words to her assistant.
Xie Zhang clearly knew her intentions, yet he still went along with her thoughts.
Just like before, part of him was angry, yet he let things slide.
Until now, she lived in his Bai Garden, and when she fell ill with fever, he anxiously went to Bian Yue to find a doctor.
It’s only then that he shockingly realized he had made exceptions so many times.
Xie Zhang couldn’t help but feel alarmed.
A person like him, no matter how much he spoils a woman, if he harbors feelings, it would be irretrievable.
Thus, Xie Zhang silently watched An Jiayi, his eyes filled with intense and deep emotions.
His silence, in An Jiayi’s eyes, was indistinguishable from rejection.
An Jiayi lowered her gaze, hiding the dullness in her eyes, her voice rough and suppressed: "I will move out immediately, Mr. Xie needn’t be troubled."
Xie Zhang laughed bitterly out of exasperation.
The moment she tried to leave, he ultimately couldn’t restrain his emotions and grasped her wrist.
In the deadly silent hall, the man’s face was obscured by darkness, all emotions indiscernible.
An Jiayi didn’t dare to look at him either.
The voice she heard was cold and frosty, "How long do you plan to make a fuss? An Jiayi, ask yourself, have I not been good enough to you?"
It was genuine incomprehension.
How could it not be good enough?
It was good to the point of making exceptions.
But how could such fondness be enough?
An Jiayi’s eyes brimmed with pain, she blinked away the tears, "Very good."
"Very good?" Xie Zhang abruptly pulled An Jiayi’s arm, and without her guard up, she stumbled into his embrace, "If it’s very good, then why all this fuss?"
Being close enough to each other, even in the depths of the dark night, they could still see the emotions on each other’s faces.
Xie Zhang saw the anguish on An Jiayi’s face, clearly etched.
"You used me against Jiang Yan, I didn’t hold it against you, whatever you wanted, I gave it to you, isn’t that enough?" Xie Zhang frowned, his grip on An Jiayi’s wrist tightening slowly, "Tell me, what else do you want?"
An Jiayi knew from the day she got close to Xie Zhang that she shouldn’t have let her heart waver.
They were never from the same world.
Bian Yue could sit with him without constraint, but just looking into his eyes made her heart palpitate with fear.
She had far too little to rely on.
"I don’t know..." An Jiayi lowered her eyes, her voice hoarse: "I don’t know what else I want."
In truth, she knew, but such wishful thinking, once voiced, would only bring her embarrassment.
She wanted love.
Not just fondness, but love.
Yet between two inherently unequal people, how could love possibly bloom?
Xie Zhang silently gazed at An Jiayi, the dark gleam in his eyes profound. After a prolonged silent standoff, he picked her up and headed upstairs.
An Jiayi was tossed onto the bed, and before she could react, he had pinned her wrists above her head.
His breathing grew heavy, his voice deep: "Have you recovered from the fever?"
An Jiayi looked at him, silent.
Xie Zhang grew increasingly irritated, losing all measure, "Not going to speak, huh?"
She was just crying.
For a long time, so long that Xie Zhang’s patience ran out.
He felt An Jiayi trembling in his embrace, her crying was pitifully heartbreaking, she said, "Xie Zhang, let’s just end things here."
For the first time in his life, Xie Zhang was dumped.
He was furious to the extreme, yet not a single emotion showed on his face, leaving only coldness.
He kissed her fiercely, she resisted, and the taste of blood spread in the air.
Xie Zhang initially thought An Jiayi had bitten him.
But it dawned on him later that the blood was An Jiayi’s own.
He paused, gripping her wrist even tighter, slowly pulling apart the distance between them.
"Do I disgust you that much?"
His voice, devoid of all emotion.
An Jiayi said, "Let’s part ways, I don’t want anything you’ve given me."
Xie Zhang left Bai Garden overnight.
Right after Li Sihe had finished dinner with Bian Yue, he heard Xie Zhang’s unusually agitated voice on the phone.
He said, "Are you free? Let’s have a meal."
Li Sihe mentioned he had already dined with Bian Yue, hesitated for a moment, then asked Xie Zhang for the address.
Bian Yue was nibbling on grapes, Li Sihe peeled the skin and placed the translucent pulp in her hand.
"What happened to Xie Zhang?" Bian Yue asked with curiosity in her eyes.
Li Sihe was silent for a moment, then said, "He might have been dumped."
Bian Yue exclaimed ’wow’ with glee, "This is so interesting, I want to see it!"
Li Sihe frowned, raised his hand, and gave Bian Yue a gentle tap on the forehead, "You’re not allowed to go."
"No way!" Bian Yue stood up, ran to get her phone, and called Xie Zhang back.
Xie Zhang was feeling suffocated and miserable, but the caller ID showing Bian Yue softened his expression, he said, "Miss Bian, what’s up?"
Bian Yue, ever so spiteful, said, "Hey, Xie Zhang! I heard you got dumped! I was wondering, where are you?"
Xie Zhang, driving, responded irritably, "Out!"
"Give me the address!" Bian Yue earnestly said, "Give me a chance to properly mock you!"
Xie Zhang wanted to spit blood.
He listened helplessly to Bian Yue’s mocking words, sneered, and said, "You think Li Sihe will let you go out this late? Just stay put!"
Bian Yue protested, "Come on! Maybe I should go and coax your ex-girlfriend for you? You never know, she might change her mind."
Xie Zhang emphasized, "Not an ex-girlfriend!"
"Oh, a sugar daddy relationship?" Bian Yue retorted.
Xie Zhang fell silent, which was as good as confirmation.
Bian Yue, the ever troublemaker, loved calling out others’ pretenses. She scoffed contemptuously, "Getting so upset over a sugar daddy relationship? Xie Zhang, you must have fallen for her!"
Xie Zhang slammed on the brakes hard.
On the highway, Young Master Xie broke the law flagrantly and for once became genuinely angry at Bian Yue on the other end of the phone, "Don’t spout nonsense! Bian Yue! There’s no way I could like her!"
"If you don’t like her, then why are you upset? Why don’t you kick her out? It’s your home, isn’t it?" Bian Yue said, "Stop fussing, I’ll go check on her for you."
"You little brat, what do you know!" Xie Zhang’s headache intensified, "Stop causing trouble!"
Li Sihe took the phone from Bian Yue’s hand and with a hint of a smile said, "Let Bian Yue go. I’ll come and keep you company. You don’t want to not see that girl tomorrow, do you?"
Xie Zhang was silent for a moment, then with a taut voice, he said, "She’s at Bai Garden."
