Chapter 35: Chapter 35: Ambush and Assassination

Hearing this, Fang Keyi’s heart skipped a beat. π’‡π’“π’†π’†π™¬π’†π’ƒπ“·π’π“Ώπ™šπ™‘.π’„π“Έπ’Ž

Regardless of the time, he and anyone from the organization rarely discussed matters directly over the phone, communicating mostly through secret forums.

Even if Volcano came here, the two would only use a simple phone call to arrange a meeting spot, and only discuss matters once they met face to face.

After all, phones weren’t secure enough.

But now, with Volcano urgently wanting to discuss things over the phone, it was clear the situation was critical.

Fang Keyi hurriedly got out of bed, locked the room’s door behind him, threw on his robe, and sat by the small tea table inside.

"Mr. Volcano, go ahead."

"Kangbo Biological Company has a convoy ready to head to the airport. You need to immediately organize your men to intercept them with the strongest firepower, and leave none alive in that convoy."

Fang Keyi was shocked and explained, "That’s too sudden, there’s no time to organize anything!"

"Precisely because of the rush, we need to hurry. Kangbo Biological Company’s clinical trials have concluded, and this convoy is transporting the test subjects and experimental data to their headquarters. Our mission is to annihilate them completely."

On the other end of the call, Volcano said solemnly:

"Don’t worry, I’ll join in personally."

"Moreover, after the mission, the organization will arrange for you to retreat from Wanghai Country. However, due to the urgency, it will take at least until tomorrow to organize it, so you just need to cooperate with me to eliminate the Kangbo Biological Company convoy, and then hang on for one more day."

Fang Keyi felt a pang of conflict in his heart.

But he also knew he could no longer escape the Nirvana Association, and could only obediently follow orders.

After only a moment’s silence, he replied firmly, "Alright, I’ll arrange it right away."

"Do it quickly. I’ll arrange for an insider to delay the convoy’s departure so they don’t leave so soon. Once you are ready, take your men directly to Jiuan Road near the Kangbo Biological Company; it’s the only way to the airport. We’ll set up an ambush there, and make sure to bring the signal jammer."

"Understood."

The call ended.

Fang Keyi spent two minutes getting dressed while calling his trusted subordinates, arranging for them to bring firearms, ammunition, and a few grenades they had left.

Typically, the gang, being somewhat corporate in nature, couldn’t have the leader decide everything alone. Many things needed discussion with the board, particularly large-scale armed actions.

However, within the Golden Shield Gang, due to the covert support of the Nirvana Association, Fang Keyi had much greater control than other leaders, effectively making the entire Golden Shield Gang his domain.

His confidants held more than half of the gang’s important positions, making it nearly impossible for anyone to stop him from doing whatever he wanted.

Moreover, at this point, he had no time to consider the consequences and could only follow Volcano’s orders to wipe out Kangbo Biological Company first.

Before long.

Three vehicles carrying thirteen elite trusted men, along with Fang Keyi himself, making a total of fourteen, arrived on Jiuan Road to meet up with Volcano.

By now, Volcano had already put on a mask, and upon seeing the people in the car, he simply walked up to the vehicle where Fang Keyi was and asked in a low voice:

"Are you ready?"

"Ready."

"Good, divide into different positions. I’ll be elsewhere, and once you see me make a move, start the action immediately. Use the signal jammer first and block their retreat."

"Understood."

After a brief exchange, they parted ways.

Kangbo Biological Company was located in an industrial park, quite a distance from the city center, almost like the outskirts, and Jiuan Road nearby wasn’t bustling either, with only a few vehicles and pedestrians occasionally passing by.

Fang Keyi’s three vehicles spread out and took positions to ambush, waiting for the target to appear.

Volcano entered a residential building.

About ten minutes later.

A convoy appeared at the far end of the road.

The convoy consisted of six black sedans and a silver-gray armored car, seven vehicles in a line, with the armored car in the middle and sedans at the front and back. They steadily proceeded along the inner fast lane heading towards Jiuan Road.

Fang Keyi exchanged a glance with his men, nodded slightly to signal them, then looked away, pretending nothing was unusual, though he tightly gripped his submachine gun.

The convoy slowly approached.

Just as the last black sedan in the convoy was about to leave the ambush zone, a massive scarlet fireball, as large as a millstone, suddenly shot from the sky, leaving a dazzling red trail in the air before viciously smashing into the front car of the convoy.

"What is that?"

"Get out of the way!!"

People both on the roadside and in the convoy noticed the enormous fireball in the sky, exclaiming in terror.

The driver of the first car failed to notice it in time, and when the passengers alerted him and he was about to steer, the vehicle suddenly jolted violently, and he immediately lost consciousness.

"Boom!"

In the terrified eyes of the bystanders.

The gigantic fireball crashed onto the car roof, crushing the vehicle flat, and countless small magma-like fireballs ejected from it in every direction.

"Sizzle!"

One of the ping pong ball-sized fireballs landed on the face of a bystander over ten meters away, melting a hole in his face and causing the surrounding skin to rapidly twist and curl, emitting the ’sizzling’ sound of roasting meat.

The fireball stuck firmly to the bystander’s face.

"Ah!!"

The bystander screamed frantically, instinctively clawing the small fireball off his face, but no blood flowed as the high temperature of the fireball had cauterized the wound.

Meanwhile, the black sedan hit by the huge fireball burst into flames, and nobody inside managed to escape.

The vehicles behind came to a sudden halt.

Fortunately, all of the convoy’s drivers were seasoned veterans, and despite the abrupt situation, they managed to brake in time, avoiding further mishaps, and the vehicles came to a stable stop.

But such an abrupt halt unbalanced everyone in the cars, making it difficult to respond effectively.

"Action!"

Before the convoy could react, Fang Keyi and his men donned masks, got out with submachine guns and pistols, and began wildly firing in the direction of the convoy. Beside them, an underling activated the signal jammer, while two others threw grenades into the convoy.

"Boom!!"

Two cars shook violently from the explosion.

The grenades’ countless steel balls pin-cushioned the car bodies and windows, with agonized screams erupting afterward.

"Ah!!"

Bystanders frantically fled to safety.

Other nearby vehicles all fled in panic.

The convoy’s car windows shattered one after another, and everyone inside couldn’t raise their heads; some who were caught off guard had their heads blasted, and coupled with the grenade damage, the convoy sustained heavy casualties, losing nearly half their numbers.

Soon, another basketball-sized fireball flew from the rooftop of a nearby residential building.

The fireball traced a brilliant arc in the air.

It smashed precisely toward the second car in the convoy.

At that moment.

The rear passenger door of the second car was suddenly pushed open with immense force from inside, snapping the door hinges so that the entire door slammed onto the rear of the car and fell to the ground.

A tall figure emerged from the back seat and leaped upward without pause, directly facing the descending fireball.

A fist struck it hard.

"Boom!"

Accompanied by a dull impact sound, the basketball-sized fireball shattered into countless small flames, scattering in all directions.
