Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 762: Death Of A Consort?
In the wreckage of the fallen construction shuttle that had burst into shards of flames and leaked magic energy, Ruda flexed her body and eased her breathing.
Her pink hair was disheveled and her eyes flashed with irritation.
That sudden hit from the back had hurt her a little, but it had mostly been a source of irritation.
She shifted her hand, causing the pieces of hot metal to shift away and fall away from her body.
Ignoring the weight of the hot metal sheets and other objects like it was nothing, Ruda stood up.
With a single step, her body turned into a stream flash of purple electric energy and appeared above.
Ruda looked down to see some of the termites running away under their little insect legs and others standing around with apprehension in their beady black eyes.
The stronger ones were wondering what was the cause of this commotion and the weaker ones were just trying to create some distance to avoid being pulled into any conflict.
Ruda snorted and growled. Her fists balled up and her body erupted in a terrifying wave of electric energy.
She, a warrior who had hunted down an unknown amount of Primordials, someone who had coldly slaughtered her fellow lionesses, who knew how many foreigners she had annihilated under her powerful claws.
Yet, she had been ambushed, and she had not even seen what hit her, not yet.
"Ruda, are you okay?" Eidel asked telepathically as she flew over.
"Yes," Ruda said with an annoyed expression.
Eidel was flying over and Ruda looked at her skeptically, her mind still alert.
That was when she saw something.
"Eidel, watch out!" She screamed as she rushed forth.
Eidel had also sensed and instantly turned around. Her left hand swung out, augmented by Red Fire and Original Fire.
*BAM!*
What she hit was hard.
Incredibly hard.
Eidel’s arm clashed with the outstretched palm of a tall and slim man with two black tear marks beneath his eyes.
His hair was yellow and had little spots and his eyes showed a distinct look of impatience.
He clasped his arm around Eidel’s wrist, ignoring the flames looking directly into her eye.
No words needed to be said, the killing intent she felt alone was enough to tell her all she needed to know about their current predicament.
This person right here was here to kill them.
And just the way they had been thinking of infiltrating the heavenly realms of others, this person had probably done the same.
Probably using a stolen heavenly beacon of the lions.
Eidel and the man did not bother speaking to each other. They only used less than a second to analyse the basic information on each other before striking out immediately.
Ruda zipped past in a stream of bright pink electricity, landing a kick on the man’s head.
And Eidel’s right hand which was free burst into a show of three coloured flames, each pushed to the extreme of their properties.
They attacked with synchronization, or so they thought.
The man casually shifted to the side to avoid Ruda’s cleaving kick and he used his other hand to very easily block Eidel’s punch.
Although it looked casual, the man had been extremely fast.
His legs moved faster.
One of them turned into a blur, hitting Eidel’s abdomen.
Eidel, who was still at the peak of tier 5, could not take this.
She had all the wind knocked out of her.
Her body turned into a blur, shooting through multiple construction shuttles and little pyramids.
Her body did not stop flying until her back slammed into the side of the unfinished Apex Pyramid.
All her bones felt sore and fractured. Her muscles screamed in agony. Her abdomen, the place where she had been hit, she couldn’t feel it anymore.
As she slid down the side of the pyramid, blood poured out of her mouth in excess.
Just like that, her combat ability was rendered completely useless.
With one hit.
What about Ruda?
Ruda’s fate was much more grim.
So grim that no one would have expected things to turn out this way.
Ruda’s legs had been descending from.the sky in the form of a cleaving kick.
The man, having established the fact that he was impossibly fast, casually and swiftly moved out of the way.
The force of the kick slashed down, cutting through the ground and creating a long and deep fissure that cut for kilometres.
Taking advantage of Ruda’s momentum, the tear-marked man reached out and easily took hold of Ruda’s neck.
It was so sudden.
Ruda had prided herself to be one of the fastest creatures in Leonine Heaven, was shocked to experience how hopeless it was to match this mysterious person’s speed.
It was like he was just doing it casually, yet words could not express how broken it was for him to move so fast like that.
Ruda had her neck clamped tightly by the man’s thin and strong hand.
He looked into her eyes, watching coldly as she struggled to free herself.
Pink electricity surgery from her body, enough to fry multiple mortal nations over and over again.
But the man floated there, unharmed. He just wanted to look at her.
Although it seems like he was looking at her for a few more seconds, one second was yet to pass. Time was acting differently around him.and anything he touched.
Ruda, honestly frightened, used all her power. She activated the separate pool Conquering Essence.
As for why the other consorts were not yet here, she didn’t know. Perhaps, they were already on their way but because everything was happening too fast, she felt like it was taking time.
And despite all her efforts, the man just remained...still.
Finally, having been satisfied with the look of fear and struggles he saw in Ruda’s face, he opened his mouth to speak.
"The enemies of the All-King are tired of playing around." His voice was light and calm. The sign of someone who was hardly disturbed by anything.
His left hand, which was free, was raised to his chest level and formed into a flat palm blade.
His arm vibrated terrifyingly fast.
"No," Ruda sensed what he wanted to do and struggled harder. She knew what was about to happen because she had done it to a few of her enemies.
"Apologies," The man said, and then, he moved his hand.
*CRACK! SPLASH!*
No one came to save Ruda at the last minute, anyone who heard her cry was too far away.
The man’s vibrating arm pierced through her chest. Shattering her ribs and puncturing her lungs, before breaking past her spine and coming out from the back.
Ruda’s screams caused the whole continent to descend into a chilly state.
Far away, at the bottom of the Apex Pyramid, Eidel was kneeling down, trying to get herself back to her right senses when she heard that deathly scream.
Eidel’s fiery blood ran cold as her head snapped to the front to see a sight that caused her vision to blur.
Her twin sister was impaled by the arm of this mysterious attacker.
Her old dripped down the length of his arm, flowing down his fingers and dripping to the dirt ground as red beads.
The termites and pilots of the construction shuttles aimed their cannons or tried to run away.
But they couldn’t do anything, not with Ruda still by his side.
"There’s no need to run," The man said as he waved his bloody arm.
Ruda’s body was flung away like a boneless piece of meat until she hit the ground.
"There’s no need to hide," He looked at his bloody arm and frowned.
"There’s no need for any delay," He shifted his gaze to the shocked Eidel who could not believe what she saw.
In Eidel’s eyes, Ruda’s body was no longer emitting any strong heat signature. Her aura was fading too fast.
She was...
"Noooo!" Eidel wanted to scream but the words got choked in her mouth. There were no tears on her cheeks because they all evaporated the moment they formed.
*BOOM!*
The man was merciless, not giving Eidel any more time to comprehend her grief.
He had been given his orders, total extermination of the Ol’mytee Clan. It had to be swift, and it had to be clean.
The last thing he wanted was a lion swarm coming at him.
Utilising the Law of Speed, the man’s form blasted through the sky, heading straight for Eidel with enough force to spear a system of planets.
This was the end.
*BAM!*
However, right when the speedster was a few thousand kilometres away from Eidel, another figure appeared,. directly blocking his path.
Memphis’s arm was raised, blocking the palm chop from this mysterious Primordial.
Her green eyes analysed him and her senses spread out to observe everything.
The man struck out again, and again, and again. It didn’t matter that a new variable had appeared to stand in his way.
His order was to kill every last one of them, no exceptions, Memphis included.
One consort was already dead, Memphis was just another destined to experience the same fate if care was not taken.
