Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 118-I Woke Up With Lara, Not Iris
Kash:
"Why did she barge in without knocking on the door?" Lara complained, touching her neck.
I could not believe what had just happened.
It was not only that Iris had barged in and seen me in a compromised state, but it also took me minutes to grasp that when I woke up, Lara was in my arms and not Iris.
I quickly pushed her away and stepped out of the bed, realizing I was completely naked.
"What happened here last night?"
Lara was the one who began to complain while I searched for my clothes.
As I slipped into my pants, my wolf’s words struck me.
"She saw us with her. And we had the nerve to be upset because we found her seeking comfort from her boyfriend."
His words hit me hard and my hands slowed. I stood there in only my pants, my eyes closed and my fists clenched.
"Were we doing the same thing? One day we expressed our frustration, our jealousy, our love for Iris. Then the next day we were found in bed with Lara, the same woman who had been the reason our relationship ended."
My wolf continued, but I shook my head.
"It was not because of her. It was because of me," I mumbled.
I broke free from my trance when Lara started to panic. I turned to look at her.
She had wrapped a sheet around herself and had stepped away from the bed, glancing around.
"Wait, what happened here last night? Did we...?" she asked me, her eyes wide.
It might not have felt that bad for her because she had been fine with it, but for me, I had never wanted it to happen.
For a moment, I wanted to burn the entire world.
It felt so wrong.
"Wait, you brought me in last night, then what happened afterward?" I turned to confront her.
"I don’t know, we were drinking," she murmured. I set my hands on my waist and stared at her.
"Exactly. I was the one who was drinking." As soon as I said that, she lifted a finger.
"I was drinking too. Okay?" she snapped at me.
"From what I can recall, I was the one who was drunk. Then how did you end up drunk with me?" I hissed at her. She placed her hands on her waist.
"Well then, maybe look to the side and see the two glasses there. I was drinking with you, then I put you to bed, and..." She pressed a hand to her forehead as she paused. "After that I went to do some work, and I drank. Then I heard you call for me." She stopped.
"Then what?" I asked anxiously, because for her this would mean nothing, but for me, Iris had seen me in a state that would ruin everything I was trying to rebuild, or everything I believed I was trying to rebuild.
"What?" I shouted when she took too long to answer.
"Then I went to check on you, and you grabbed my hand, and you pulled me back into your bed."
As soon as she continued speaking, I raised my hand to stop her.
That was it. I did not need to know more. Everything had been ruined.
"I don’t think you should react so aggressively. It’s not like we are two strangers. We are going to get married anyway." As expected, she spoke casually, shrugging her shoulders, then began searching for her clothes.
This was not the first time we had slept together. Before my marriage with Iris, we had been intimate.
That was not why I was worried. I did not want anything with her because there was someone I had been waiting to bring back into my life once the truth came out.
The real truth about why I chose to cheat on Iris in the first place.
There was heat building inside me, but I had to go after Iris.
For now, there was no reason to give Iris any explanations. What was I supposed to say?
I messed up.
That was the truth. If I acted casually, it would be fine. I reminded myself, trying to convince myself of the lie that everything would be fine if I pretended it was not a big deal.
I caught up to Iris, and as expected, she did not respond well.
And in that moment, I made another mistake when I broke her heart twice.
I could tell she was shocked by the way I reacted. In no time, she was out of my sight.
"You shouldn’t have gone after her," Lara complained, folding her arms across her chest.
"Don’t forget, she’s the mother of my children," I told her, reminding her what not to do when it came to Iris.
"Is that why you were rushing to get dressed and making us leave? Because you knew she would be around and you wanted to give her a lift?" Lara muttered, but I stayed silent.
I had no response. My mind was still foggy. The mistake I made was not only bad, but far worse than I had imagined.
The rest of the car ride was silent. At least on my side.
Lara kept pestering me about wanting to get married soon. Then she startled me and made me tense.
"In fifteen days."
I snapped out of my thoughts, shifting in my seat and turning to her.
"What did you just say?" I asked.
I had not heard anything she said before, but the moment she mentioned fifteen days, it was as if her words woke me up.
"What? I’ve been telling you this for a while now. Did you just hear it?" she complained.
"Tell me. What did you say about fifteen days?" I grunted, shutting her down for complaining instead of getting to the point.
"I’m going to get married in fifteen days, okay?" she hissed, and I started speeding up on the road.
"Are you not going to say anything?" she called out again, but I had no response.
I was so irritated by everything that I only wanted to drop her off so I could go for a run.
And that was exactly what I did. The moment I parked the car outside our home, I stepped out.
"Hey, where are you heading?" she shouted after me, but I strode away from her toward the woods.
While doing so, I passed the guest house and gave it one steady glance.
I did not know why, but my heart always drifted back to that guest house.
