Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 123-One Step Ahead
Iris:
I walked out of his room holding a file in my hand, the file he gave me after he told me to leave. The door to his room stayed open as I stepped out. I did not even close it. I was too stunned to react to anything.
Then I heard his voice behind me.
"Do not ever accuse me. Remember, it was your decision to want this rejection."
His voice carried from inside the room. I did not know what file he had given me or what it was about, but I held it tightly and wandered out of the hall.
The minute I reached the living room, I saw his mother and sister share a glance before looking at me.
"You two rejected each other?" Lady Vivian asked.
I did not respond. I could not. I was too stunned by how everything had turned out. I did not even know why I was shocked. I had come here to talk about rejection, so why did it still feel like the ground had slipped from under me?
My silence was an answer to her. I gathered my thoughts and then briskly stepped out of the main mansion, heading to the guest house. Once inside, I clutched the file tightly, tearing up. But I did not have an easy way out. My mother was already waiting for me in the living room.
The minute I stormed in, she stepped toward me with excitement.
"It happened," she said as she touched my hand and noticed how cold I was. "And why are you tearing up so badly?"
She moved back, complaining as she watched the tears fall from my eyes.
"You wanted it, so it happened. Now step out of my way and leave me alone." My voice came out in soft whimpers.
As I tried to wander past her, she attempted to grab my hand, but I pulled away.
"I said leave me alone," I raised my voice, rushing to my room before my kids came out and saw me.
"This is unfair," she remarked behind me.
But once I went into the room, I realized there was another problem waiting.
Luca.
"Hey, you broke the bond?" he called softly, sitting on the couch.
I did not respond. I rushed into the bathroom instead. At this point, the bathroom was the only place where I felt like I could be left alone. I stared at myself in the mirror and began to cry.
After crying in the mirror for a while, I finally washed my face. Then my attention went back to the file. I grabbed it, frowning in confusion. He had not asked me to read it in private or anything, so I guessed it was not meant to be a big surprise.
The title of the file read New Location. I wondered what it was about. Could he have randomly handed me a new idea for the perfume after the rejection? Is that what he did? I wondered.
But the minute I opened it, I already knew what it was. It was a trip to the South, more specifically to film a promotional video next to the blue water rivers. It was the same plan he once told me about, where he would disguise the trip as a promotion, but we would actually go to fetch the water.
Seeing a little hope of finding a cure for my son after such a stressful day actually started to warm my heart. I read through the file, noticing how well he had disguised it. It truly looked like he was going there to work on the promotional video.
I cleaned my cheeks and then walked out of the bathroom, finding my mother and Luca in the room waiting for me at the same time.
"I do not know why you are tiring yourself so much. So what if he rejected you? Were you not done with him years ago?" my mother started, giving me a headache. I gently rubbed my temples, rolling my eyes at her. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
"And what is that?" she asked, pointing at the file in my hand.
I handed it over to her silently. She grabbed it and began to go through it. With every page she turned, her eyes widened.
"That could be a good plan," she remarked. "When you two are exploring the area, you can convince him to grab the water as well."
She clearly did not realize that this was exactly why we were going there.
"It is in a day. I will be taking my children with me," I told the two in a monotone, not showing any emotion. I was tired of acting on my feelings. I was fed up with crying and constantly begging them to stop controlling my life.
"Great. I will pack my bags quickly," my mother announced, and my steps stopped at once.
"What do you mean? You are not coming with me," I said, watching her with a stern look. I hoped she would take me seriously.
"Are you kidding me? Why did you even think I would take you with me? It is not a picnic," I tried to reason, but my mother rolled her eyes and shook her head at me.
"You think I will let you go there by yourself with your ex? Who knows what you will do the minute you get your hands on the water," she stated, shrugging her shoulders.
"I will eventually come back to you to unlink my son from yours by giving your son the water," I reminded her. There was no way I could escape her.
"Well, Luca, pack your bags and also tell Scarlett she is coming with us," my mother ordered, not even continuing to speak with me as if I did not exist.
My eyes moved to Luca, who shared a silent look with me before he walked out of the room to inform Scarlett.
"Do not ever think for a moment that I will let you go anywhere without my informants or without me," my mother remarked as she also stormed out to pack her bags.
