Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 139-Messy Relationships
Iris:
"She is gone," I said quietly.
"Wait, what?" he questioned, shaking his head as he leaned down and placed his hand on the window sill to hear me better.
"She had to go back into the woods. Her father is sick," I lied, turning my head toward the window again.
"And what about you? Why are you so down?" he asked, his voice lowering.
I did not respond. I could not. For a moment, I wanted to disappear.
What I went through last night stayed with me, and no matter how hard I tried to push it away, I could not.
Not only was I hurt, but others suffered my mother’s actions because of my single mistake of getting intimate with Kash.
"Iris," he said as he gently placed his hand on my shoulder.
I slapped his hand away and stepped off the window sill, moving away from him.
That reaction came from the discomfort I felt after everything that had happened.
The way Kash was looking at me, along with my children, made me realize what I had just done.
"It’s okay. I won’t touch you if you don’t want me to," Kash replied calmly, not offended at all, as if he understood.
I guessed he could tell something was wrong.
"No, it’s just that I thought there was a spider on me, and you were trying to take it off, or that you were brushing something off my shoulder," I explained, trying to come up with a ridiculous lie while laughing awkwardly.
My children rushed toward me.
"Mommy, was there a spider?" Amy asked.
Thankfully, I had been able to fool them into thinking it was about a spider, but deep down, I was still shaken.
"Yeah, it was a big one. But don’t worry, your daddy took care of it," Kash remarked.
Kash stepped ahead and lifted Amy into his arms, keeping one eye on me while I stole a glance at him.
"Anyway, what do you say? Should I ask my royal beta to take you guys around and buy you toys?" Kash asked them.
I looked at Kash with worry. However, he made a hand gesture, letting me know that Walkin would take care of them, and I knew he would.
Walkin had never really gone against Kash or done anything that was not in Kash’s favor, so I knew I could trust him.
Besides, as long as my mother was not around my kids, I knew they would be fine.
"And we will go check out the blue waters until then," Kash told me, watching me as I gave him a nod.
That was when the door opened and someone else walked in. Luca. He scratched the back of his neck.
He had probably taken a shower and come straight here, looking for me and the children.
"Why the heck were my pants open last night?" he questioned.
It did not only make Kash look at me strangely, as if asking what Luca was talking about, but it also made me look away from Luca.
If only he knew what had happened last night to him, me, and Scarlett. I felt sick.
My mother had not stopped there. I was not the only one she wanted to terrorize.
She used whatever she could to control me.
"You were pretty drunk. You must have opened them yourself. How am I supposed to know?" I replied after finally gathering my thoughts and lying.
Feeling guilty, I knew he deserved to know. He was just as much a victim as we were.
"Yeah, I know I was drunk, because when I woke up, my girlfriend had decided to leave me alone in the room," Luca commented.
"Are you guys going somewhere today?" He then asked me and I looked at Kash.
"Just some office work. Why don’t you go look around my pack?" Kash suggested.
Luca seemed so out of it that he only shrugged and nodded.
"Sure," he replied, then wandered away.
Kash put Amy and Colin down, and after he had arranged the entire day for them, it was time for Kash and me to go out to check the blue waters.
Since it had already been decided that we would check out the area, and Kash had already spoken to Lord Ronald about it, there were no hurdles.
We were asked to wait in the parking lot while the father and daughter arrived to meet us.
However, while they were still walking toward us, Kash began fixing his coat.
As he looked around, he whispered something to me.
"Someone from your family is giving Lara information about your whereabouts," he remarked before finishing with his coat and smiling at Lara as she approached him and held his hand.
I noticed that today he was overly sweet with her, responding well to her actions, probably because he was trying not to upset her and risk canceling the visit.
"Okay, before we go, I would like you all to leave your phones in the car when we get out and walk down the trail. Also, do not try to take the water out. Remember, we are not supposed to take water from the Blue River," Lord Ronald explained.
Everyone nodded while Kash and I quietly shared a glance.
"Okay then, let’s go," he added.
However, just then, my mother rushed out.
Seeing her in front of me suddenly made something snap, and I unintentionally moved behind Kash’s back.
I knew he noticed because he turned to give me a glance before looking back at her.
"Wait for Luca’s arrival, please," my mother stated.
The way she looked at me and smirked told me exactly what she was hinting at.
"Actually, my daughter and him should spend some time together as well. Since the two are heading into the next step of their relationship, it would be much better if he also paid attention to the business," my mother continued.
I noticed the way Kash turned his head toward me to stare, almost as if waiting for me to confirm that what my mother was saying was not true.
"Right, Iris? Isn’t that it? Aren’t you two thinking about taking a step further in your relationship?" my mother questioned in front of everyone.
My presence felt unsteady. With all eyes on me, I immediately started to nod.
"Yes, that’s it," I replied. "We are taking a step further."
The moment I said it, I saw Kash look visibly upset with me, and then Luca arrived.
