Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 163-Brutally Rejected Again
Iris:
"More than your own children?" I asked him.
The tears had dried by then. Shock had taken over.
He nodded confidently.
"It’s true. My children can live without me. They already have for five years. But I can’t live without Lara. It’s not easy. Why do you think I’ve stayed with her for five years? Even after you came back with children, I could have ended things with her after I got the cure. But it was always about Lara, Iris. And it’s time you move on too."
He looked straight at me.
"If you don’t want to marry Luca, that’s fine. I’ll stand up for you, like I would for any other woman. But don’t expect me to love you. I don’t. My love, my heart, and my loyalty are only for Lara. No one else."
It felt as if he had torn my heart out in that moment.
"You’re only saying this because you’re angry," I replied.
He shook his head and clicked his tongue, almost amused by my response. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
"You can create as many scenarios as you want to make yourself feel better. I won’t stop you. The truth won’t change. No matter how many times you ask me to choose between you and her, or my children and her, I’ll choose her."
He continued, his voice rising.
"I’ll stay responsible for you and the children, but don’t expect me to betray her. Don’t expect me to leave her. Iris, I’m ready to fight any war for her."
He said all of it while looking me straight in the eye, as if he wanted the whole world to hear it.
Before I could speak, he lifted his finger toward me, silently warning me to stop.
"There was nothing between us. Nothing. From the moment you left until the moment you came back. I married you because you were my mate, and because my family believed marrying you would give me powerful children." He paused. "Instead, I got a sick child."
The way he said it made me raise my finger toward him.
"You’re crossing your limits now. I want him."
He closed his eyes and turned his face away, and in that moment, I felt foolish. I should never have come here. All the confidence and pride I had shown him crumbled right in front of him.
"Now go," he said sharply. "Go take care of your children. If you don’t like Luca, find someone else. But don’t come between me and Lara."
He pointed at my phone. I did not understand what he meant.
"Go," he shouted again.
My body jerked at his raised voice.
I nodded. I had nothing left to say.
I walked to the door, opened it, and stepped out. I finally let go of everything I had been holding back and went straight to the guest house.
The moment I stepped inside, I saw my mother standing in the doorway.
"So, you came back rejected again," she remarked, as if she already knew the pain on my face came from Kash turning me away once more.
She looked at me with disgust, then stepped closer.
I felt like a failure. She was right. I had taken Kash too seriously, even after he showed me I could not trust him.
I sniffled as she approached and snatched my phone from my hands.
"Enough with this nonsense. Stop making the Lycans feel miserable," she hissed, poking her finger into my shoulder and pushing me back.
That was her way of showing anger, as if her daughter were nothing more than a failure who could not accept the rejection of the man she loved.
"Now go and pack your bags. We won’t be staying here for too long," my mother said, snapping her fingers in front of me.
I walked toward my room as my kids arrived at the guest house too.
"Come on, Luca. Pack the bags."
The moment she stepped into my room with Luca, I froze.
"Are we leaving tonight?" I asked, a small sense of hope rising in me. I wanted to leave. I did not want to stay and watch the wedding.
"Oh no, we’re not leaving tonight," she replied. "We’ll wait for the wedding. You and I will watch it, and then we’ll go. Luca and the kids will leave a few hours earlier, when Kash is busy with his wedding duties. We will leave when he is busy kissing and marking his new mate. That’s when we will slip away too."
As she explained, my heart started pounding in my chest.
"No, I’m not attending this wedding," I said, trying to resist.
My mother pointed her finger at me and moved it sharply in warning.
"No. No more words," she said.
"I think you need to calm down," Luca remarked, his words making my mother snap her head back at him.
"What did you say?" she demanded, her jaw clenching slightly.
Luca stepped in front of me, shielding me behind his back.
"I said that is enough," he snapped. "What the fuck is wrong with you? Do you not see the pain in her eyes?"
As he shouted, even I forgot to breathe.
"You do not need to raise your voice at me," my mother replied. "I am only doing this so that she does not make herself embarrass herself anymore." she grunted.
"Do you know what she did?" she continued. "She went to Kash."
My mother started to explain everything when Luca pointed at her.
"I do not care," he stated. "It is her life. She can go to whoever the fuck she wants. You, I, or anyone else should not be controlling her."
"Well then, she knows what will happen if she does not listen to me," my mother told him.
There was no sharpness in her voice.
I knew that the moment a man threatened her over someone with a title, she was no longer the same woman she was with me.
"You will do nothing," Luca warned her.
As he spoke, I gently placed my hand on Luca’s shoulder from behind to stop him.
He turned to look at me, confusion crossing his face.
"She is right," I told him. "I will watch the wedding and leave later."
