Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 174-Time To Go To East
Kash:
"They are sending us warnings. Kash. They have made it clear that they do not want anyone to invade their land for now," Walkin informed me, walking behind me as we reached my office, my home office.
"Well, then that makes me wonder if they know what I am looking for," I stated, dropping my phone on the table and placing my hands on my waist.
"I guess they are kind of scared of you. Do you want to tell them that maybe you are there looking for someone?" he asked.
I have taken down all the news, all the papers, everything regarding Iris, ever since I made a plan to go East.
"If I told them what I am looking for, they might hold her hostage. You know they like to. People love to use loved ones to control someone," I explained to Walkin, telling him why this was a bad idea.
I began to shake my head.
"But I am not getting good news from them. The way they were responding to me, it seemed like they were not happy with us inviting ourselves over or wanting to enter their territory. They fear that you will take over their land too," Walkin explained to me, telling me what was happening.
I knew why he wanted me to tell them. It would put them at ease, showing that I was not trying to take their territory.
But I did not want them to find out how important Iris is to me and then hold her hostage.
And if they found out my children were there, they would definitely harm them and use them against me.
"Tell me clearly what they suggested," I asked, stepping away and turning toward him.
At this point, I was beginning to fear it. Why were they so reluctant all of a sudden? I had visited their land before.
It was very brief, and there was no custom of showing other packs around. I respected their rules.
But this time, they were being strict and reluctant to even let anyone step onto their property.
"They suggested war."
The moment Walkin said that, my ears perked up.
"Walkin, what if they already found out that Iris is there and they have her?" I grunted, locking eyes with him.
As we were looking into each other’s eyes, a knock on the door broke our attention. I turned to look at Lara, who had come inside with a cup of coffee for both of us.
She handed one to Walkin, who thanked her, then handed one to me. I took it from her and looked away, trying to be discreet.
"I will be outside," Walkin stated, stepping out of the office.
I did not give Lara a single minute. Whenever she came around, I would busy myself with work, or I would not even come home.
I felt this was why I had lost Iris twice. I did not want to do anything else that would make me lose her entirely, even unintentionally.
"I heard you are trying to enter the East Territory?" Lara asked, keeping her voice gentle and not hinting at anything that might anger me.
"And I am guessing you are here to stop me or change my mind," I asked, taking one sip of the coffee before putting it down.
I noticed how quickly she picked it up, drinking from the same side I had used.
"No," she replied calmly, and my frown deepened.
"Daddy told me everything," she added, once again confusing me.
Then there was something I did not understand. The way she and her father spoke was strange. They always made things feel mysterious, using small pauses.
"I do not understand. State it clearly," I asked, raising an eyebrow, one hand in my pants pocket and the other resting on the table behind me.
"I am talking about that incident before the marriage, when you told Iris about my place in your life. I think she got upset because of it," she stated, and I began to remember.
It was that sudden plan I had made when Iris came to see me.
"Oh, that. I did not think your father would tell you," I responded casually.
Even though it was the truth, I did not think that plan would help me in the long run.
"Anyway, I also think you are using her as an excuse to take over the East."
Then again, Lara was being Lara. She had her own ideas, and I did not correct them because they made things easier for me.
"Well, spot on," I replied.
"Well then, if that is the case, I am with you. And my father also thinks it is a good idea for you to take over the East as well."
When she said that, I almost snapped my head toward her, watching her in disbelief.
Were they really thinking about us taking over everything?
I was happy to have territories under me, but with the East, I did not want it to become something it was not.
I did not want to provoke those people. Because if they tried to look for my loved ones to hurt, they would get close to my children and Iris.
"Well, I do not want to start a war. I want to have a civilized conversation and see where it goes from there," I explained to Lara, so she would not go around telling everyone we were starting a war.
If the news reached her father, he would take action without thinking twice. In this case, any kind of situation like that would put my children and my Iris in danger.
"Okay, but just so you know, the North, the South, and the West are with you," she stated, smiling.
I wanted to tell her that of course they were on my side because I was the Alpha King, but I decided to keep it to myself.
"And I will come with you."
The moment she added that, I slapped my forehead. She noticed it too.
"Lara, I do not want any responsibility at this moment. Let me handle it myself. I am grateful that you understand," I said, trying to hint for her to leave the office so I could get back to work.
She finally got the hint. However, at the same time, Walkin walked in, holding his phone out to me.
"It is from the East," he stated.
I grabbed the phone out of Walkin’s hand.
