Chapter 187: 187-My Bride Only

Kash:

"Son, I heard you are going to war with the East," my mother remarked, watching me get ready for what could turn into a full war, or something even worse.

I did not want it to turn ugly. All I wanted was to enter the East and look for my mate, but they were not even letting me step inside, making my worry grow.

"Yeah," I replied dryly. "I hope it is for the purpose of power and land."

That was my mother’s way of asking me not to start a war over Iris, which was impossible for me to do.

"Don’t worry, nobody will be disappointed," I spoke sarcastically, and my mother quickly stepped in front of me.

"Listen to me," she told me softly. "I know you are headed there to look for your children, but your children are the only thing you should be focusing on. Forget about that woman. She has embarrassed you many times by running away, and you now have a beautiful, kind, and gentle wife. You should focus on Lara. When you return, make sure you make up for the time she has lost."

My mother spoke gently, giving me sad looks meant to make me feel guilty for Lara.

I could not. My head was pounding as I thought about Iris.

She was the only thing I wanted to focus on at that moment and in the years to come, but my mother would not understand.

She had recently begun showing so much hatred toward Iris that I started to question her past claims of ever wanting to be kind to her.

She had told me she was angry because she gave Iris so much love and never received the same in return.

That could have been the reason, but I wanted her to stop praising Lara. When the time came, my mother would be very disappointed when Lara was no longer around.

"Like I said, Mother, don’t worry. You will not be disappointed. Everything will be fine," I whispered again, giving her no idea what my plans were.

"Okay. Goodbye, and I hope you return with victory," my mother stated, smiling widely.

As I stepped out of the house, I promised myself I would not step back until I had my wife, Iris, and my children beside me.

No matter where they were, I was going to find them. Even if they had traveled to different realms, I would find a way to bring them back home.

And then I started to travel with my warriors. The process took some time. All the conversations I had with the Alpha King of the East and his beta were in vain at first. But then I found a little hope.

After hours of sneaking around the border of the East, I finally managed to get inside. All thanks to the help of the Royal Beta of the Alpha King.

I was a little skeptical about trusting him, because why would he be leading me inside?

But then he told me that the Alpha King’s son had thrown the Alpha out of the order and was holding him hostage.

That kind of change would never be accepted in my territory. I had no clue how the East was so gullible as to let their Alpha King be treated this way.

James helped us sneak around. However, his precise words were that he knew where my mate was. That threw me off guard.

I was confused about how he knew about my mate. Was I right? Had the Alpha King’s son, or the Alpha King himself, found out about Iris and captured her to use her against me?

And then, to my utmost surprise, he brought me to a venue. My warriors spread out, making sure they were not heard or seen.

There was a wedding happening. The music was too loud, making it easy for us to sneak around.

But James had specifically told me to wait for a certain signal for him to announce my arrival.

I was confused. Why was I at a random person’s wedding? Then I saw her walking down the aisle with a guy. My body stiffened. Every part of me started to shake.

"What the heck is going on?" Walkin whispered beside me, my hand tightening around the gun.

Iris’s eyes were swollen. She was holding her breath and constantly turning toward a specific spot.

I tried to look in that direction, but there were too many people gathered there, so I could not see what had caught her attention.

Then Luca appeared, and I was shocked to see the groom badly beaten. Were they forcing them to get married?

The man beside her started to give a speech. From where we were standing, we could not hear anything.

We could only see mouths opening and closing, showing they were speaking.

I watched them seemingly accept each other until James brought out papers. I watched Luca sign them.

Then the man snatched the papers from Luca and started speaking again. This was when James had told me to come inside.

"It’s time," I said.

The moment I walked in and everyone’s eyes turned to me, I noticed Iris’s eyes widened as she looked at me, almost like she felt hope.

Then my vision blurred as I turned to the side and saw my children on their knees beside an old man. I stopped right there.

The man next to Iris stepped forward, pointing toward me. His warriors started to appear around us.

There was something odd about them. Their scent was off, unlike anything I had ever smelled before.

They did not carry the usual scent of a werewolf. Maybe it was because this was the East and they had never mingled with us, which made them different.

Every territory has its own scent, but theirs felt strange.

Whatever this was, it seemed as if these people had a death wish.

Not only did they have my children on their knees with guns pointed at them, but they also had my mate on the stage, getting married.

They were forcing her to marry someone she clearly did not want to.
