Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 270-Finding The Traitor
Iris:
"Walkin, take the kids outside," Kash said as he lifted them from our laps. "Walkin, please help them."
Kash called out to Walkin, who was standing in the corner working on some files.
"Sure. Come on, kids. Let’s go outside and play football," Walkin said, tucking the files under his arm.
My eyes moved to Zoe, and I noticed the way she was looking at Walkin with dreamy eyes.
I did not judge her. There was nothing in Marcus that invited tenderness.
As soon as my children went outside, Lara continued.
"Do you realize I could have died? I am pregnant. I need safety and protection," Lara continued after my children had left.
The moment she began complaining, guilt started to hit me.
Because of my mother, someone could have lost their life.
"I am really sorry. You were hurt too," I said to Lara, excusing myself while looking away.
"What was your sorry supposed to fix? If I had lost my baby, my whole life would have been ruined. I am not lucky like you," she snapped, taking her anger out on me.
"That is enough, Lara. How is this her fault? It is not like they came for you. They came for her as well. She was their main target," Kash said firmly, finally silencing her.
I saw the anger harden on Lara’s face.
"They came because of her. We do not even know who these people are. Since when did rogues gain so much power? I heard she is part of a pack. If she is, how does an omega have that much influence?" Lara continued, raising the same questions we had been suppressing.
"Her children call her a princess," Lady Vivian mentioned, referring to an old conversation.
"Mother, please stop. What is wrong with both of you? She did not return from a picnic. Just imagine how she must have felt when she learned that her own mother had sent thugs to kidnap her. She is traumatized too," Zoe said, standing up for me for the first time.
She said it loud and clear.
For the first time, Lady Vivian looked upset with her daughter.
But Zoe did not seem to care. She looked finally happy and satisfied.
"Yes, Kash, find out when our house will be safe enough for us to move back in. I feel suffocated in this small space," Lady Vivian complained, folding her arms across her chest and giving a shrug.
Lara nodded beside her, silently agreeing.
"And anyway, my daughter is losing her mind here," Lady Vivian added, taunting Zoe.
Zoe glanced at her mother’s expression before rolling her eyes and continuing her conversation with my father and James.
"I am heading there right now. As soon as I get the details, I will come back and inform you," Kash said, gently tapping his fingers on my thigh, asking me to join him.
I understood what he was trying to do. He did not want to leave me alone with them.
He knew that if he did, they would start taunting and attacking me again.
I was not afraid of them, but it was also true that I did not want to sit there and ruin my peace of mind. Besides, I wanted to know the truth and who had committed such a betrayal against the Alpha King.
I stood up and followed Kash.
As soon as we stepped outside, I saw Luca returning from the woods.
Those woods visits by him had started to feel dangerous to me.
The moment he saw us, he frowned and walked toward us.
"What are you both doing in the guest house?" Luca asked.
His question forced Kash and me to look at each other.
"Kash, you go and find out whether the house is safe. I will talk to Luca," I said, gently touching Kash’s back.
It was my signal to him that it would be better if I spoke to Luca alone.
"Alright. Take care," Kash said, leaning in to kiss my cheek, but his eyes remained fixed on Luca.
Luca immediately turned his face away when he saw us being intimate.
When Kash stepped away from us, Luca and I finally faced each other.
"You went to the woods early this morning?" I asked, tilting my head.
"Yes. I just needed to transition for a while," Luca replied, gently touching his chest as if to explain that he had been feeling suffocated, which was why he had gone to the woods.
"Oh, really?" I said, then began speaking casually. "That is strange. We stayed here last night."
The moment I said that, the color drained from Luca’s face.
I had not told him on purpose because I had realized he never came back home yesterday. He was returning directly from the woods this morning.
"Oh, yes. I stayed at a hotel somewhere. Then I went straight to the woods after waking up," he said quickly, changing his excuse.
At that moment, he seemed very suspicious to me.
"Why did you all stay here? Was there some invitation? Did you have a party without me?" he asked, trying to sound playful.
He slipped back into his usual tone, flashing a flirtatious smile to distract me.
I watched him silently, but my jaw kept tightening.
"So you do not know anything?" I said, giving him a small, sad pout.
"What do you mean I do not know anything? Know about what?" he asked.
"There was an attack on the mansion yesterday. After that, we were all shifted to the guest house."
I gave him just enough information to observe his reaction.
He stared at me silently before his eyes drifted into the distance.
"Is everyone alright?" he asked, his voice slightly unsteady.
"Yes. Thankfully, everyone is fine," I replied.
"Where have you been these days?" I asked again.
Once again, he looked around instead of answering.
His eyes fell on my children, and he completely ignored my question.
"The kids look so happy while playing, do they not?" he commented.
I followed his gaze toward Amy and Colin.
They were always happy with Walkin, and he played with them like a child himself.
"Anyway, I will go inside and change. I have not even taken a shower yet," Luca said in a joking tone before quickly slipping past me and heading inside. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
I kept watching him, but then my eyes shifted toward the road.
I saw Kash walking back toward me.
