Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 45-He Thinks He Can Seduce Me
Iris:
"You don’t like my mother? Why?" he asked, resting his hands on his waist.
The elevator doors opened again at the top floor, and before he could press the buttons once more, I stepped out like my tail was on fire.
Outside, I turned to glare at him before turning again to head toward my room.
When I realized he was following close behind, I knew he intended to confront me.
As soon as I opened my office door and stormed inside, I tried to shut it, but he slammed his hand against it and pushed it open, stepping in with me.
I dropped my hands, exhausted, then walked away, tossing my files onto the table and setting my bag on top of them.
"Why do I have to tell you why I don’t like your parents? You can make a comment but I can’t just make a comment like that," I said, one hand on the table and the other on my waist, leaning slightly forward.
"Because your mother ruined our relationship by sending me those pictures. Do you not understand that, in trying to hurt me, she also ruined your reputation?" he hissed.
Although I agreed with him, I didn’t admit it. It didn’t matter anymore.
"I think you’re forgetting that the person who ruined our relationship wasn’t anyone else, it was you," I told him, a sly smile tugging at my lips.
"Well, at least now I know that. You didn’t cheat on me," he commented, making my jaw clench even tighter.
The audacity of him to focus on me instead of his own actions was unbelievable.
That was when my mother started blowing up my phone.
I saw her calls but ignored them because I knew what she was trying to do.
She probably wanted to ask if I had spoken to him about the issue, about the blue rivers or whatever it was. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
I was too busy to deal with her right then. I needed to respond to Kash properly.
"It doesn’t change anything. The fact remains the same. You cheated, and I’m over you. It’s been a long time, so I hope you don’t bring it up again. Besides, you should focus on your girlfriend. It seems like there’s already trouble in paradise," I said, folding my arms across my chest.
"Yeah, the engagement was postponed. I wouldn’t call it cancelled. There’s no way Lara can stay away from me," he stated smugly, shoving his hands into his pockets.
He didn’t seem to recognize the problem with his words, or maybe he did, because the moment he raised an eyebrow, he smirked.
"It seems like someone’s jealous," he teased, making me slowly unfold my arms and straighten my posture.
"Maybe you’re missing me. Or maybe you’re missing the chance to stay in the guest house as my mate, because you’re still suffering from the loss of my touch."
He leaned in, placing his hands on both sides of the table, smirking in my face.
But then his eyes drifted to my lips, and the smirk began to fade.
I swallowed hard as I stared at his face. It was unfair, how could someone like him be given such beauty?
His eyes were striking, almost impossible to look away from.
For a moment, I forgot to compose myself and just kept staring until I noticed a smirk forming on his lips again, a smirk of pride.
That was when I decided to fight it, to resist and not give him the satisfaction.
"Maybe you’re forgetting that you wanted to keep the environment professional and told me not to entertain anyone’s flirting," I said, pressing a finger to his chest as I pushed him back.
He didn’t budge, but his eyes dropped to my finger before he raised an eyebrow, clearly not pleased that I was reminding him of his own rules.
Did he really think those rules didn’t apply to him? Not in my eyes.
He finally moved his hands and stepped back just as his phone started ringing.
He pulled it from his pocket without breaking eye contact, then glanced down at the screen.
I noticed the frown forming on his forehead, it was clear the call surprised him.
He looked up at me, then back at the phone.
He did that twice, and it caught me off guard.
Without saying a word, he turned the screen toward me. My eyes locked on the caller ID.
Wife’s Mother.
The hair on the back of my neck stood up. I pretended not to understand.
"I don’t know whose number that is," I said awkwardly.
"It’s your mother," he replied.
My heart skipped. What did he mean—wife’s mother?
And why would my mother be calling him?
"Why is she calling you?" I asked.
He gave me an obvious look, as if to say that was exactly why he was showing me the call in the first place.
He answered, putting the phone on speaker. "Hello."
He slid his other hand into his pocket, but my mother’s voice came through the speaker in panicked gasps.
She was breathing heavily, sounding terrified.
It made me grab my own phone, unlocking it while still listening.
"Where is Iris? I’ve been calling her. Why isn’t she answering?" Her voice broke between cries.
My hand froze on the screen. My head snapped up, eyes fixed on the phone in his hand.
"She’s right in front of me. Do you want me to connect you to her?" Kash asked, his tone steady but detached.
"Tell her her son is having a seizure."
My phone almost slipped from my hand.
"What? Colin is having a seizure?"
Kash instantly turned off the speaker and brought the phone to his ear, his posture tightening with panic.
The worry in his body mirrored that of a father.
I hurried to open the house cameras, realizing I’d been so distracted arguing with him that I hadn’t checked on the kids.
When the feed came up, I saw my son in the living room, convulsing on the floor while Amy screamed and Scarlett held her.
My mother was beside them, panicking.
"What’s going on?" I shouted.
Kash grabbed the phone from my hand, his eyes locked on the screen.
"Let’s go," he said sharply.
He stuffed both phones into his pockets, then gripped my arm, jolting me out of my daze.
