Chapter 598: Chapter 48 Silver Mine (9) (1 more update, please support, need strength to recover)

After releasing the Wind Spirit Spiders, Brand immediately returned to the upper level. Hundreds of Wind Spirit Spiders were spreading upward along the mine shaft. He knew that the panicked miners would soon relay this news to the surface. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

A similar incident had once occurred at Shafren Mine, but that time the attackers were Beholders from the Hive Zone. The mine had suffered significant human and financial losses. This time, with the experience from the previous attack, the mine’s managers could not possibly remain indifferent.

He did not follow his original path back but chose another route. Advancing in the dark tunnel, his Perception at Level 20 made his vision sharp enough to adapt to the dim environment. The pitch-black tunnel appeared bright as day to him. He moved unhurriedly through a passage that the Wind Spirit Spiders had previously passed. The workers here had long since fled in terror, leaving the place empty and silent.

Brand arrived at the lift and activated the magic power. The simple lift immediately began to ascend slowly, carrying him to the next level.

The next level had already reached the tunnel used for transporting ore to the surface. This level had wooden tracks laid on the ground, and the space was higher, with solid wooden supports propping up the walls. However, under the glow of the torchlight, the surroundings were still empty as the workers had mostly fled.

Brand stepped out of the lift and quickly found an inconspicuous mark on the rock layers. He followed the mark and had just turned a corner when suddenly a dark shadow on his left shot at him like a snake lurking in the shadows.

The sharp sword wind stung Brand’s cheeks, but he reacted quickly, raising his hand to deflect the sword-wielding hand. Just as he was about to counterattack, he recognized the thrusting sword and immediately twisted his left hand downwards, grabbing the assailant’s wrist, forcing them to drop the sword. He heard the clang of the sword hitting the ground, followed by a soft gasp of pain—a woman’s voice.

"Lord..." Yuta finally recognized Brand, frowning as she held her wrist. "I’m sorry, I didn’t know it was you!"

She had always known this Lord was formidable, but not to this extent!

Of the three Great Commanders, only Crenxia truly understood Brand’s strength. The others had never engaged him in actual combat and therefore had no clear sense of his power. Just now, Brand had merely gripped the female commander’s wrist, and she felt as if she was being clamped down, unable to move. Her wrist hurt as if it were broken.

Yuta rubbed her wrist, secretly amazed. Though she possessed Silver strength, she was subdued in one move; was there such a large gap between Gold and Silver?

"Where are Qian and Medisha?" Brand asked.

"They are on the other side. Lord, why did you call us here?"

"Drawing the enemy out is a bit troublesome. We need to adjust our plan," Brand flicked a sword wind, sending the thrusting sword on the ground flying. It bounced off the wall, and he casually caught and handed it back. "I have a plan—I received information that over ten years ago, Shafren Mine experienced a severe accident. The miners dug into Jogen Digan, leading to a monster invasion—"

"Lord, do you want to use this method to lure them in?" Medisha’s voice came from behind Yuta. Brand saw the Silver Elf Princess and Qian emerging from behind; they had already heard the commotion.

The young woman recognized the Wind Spirit Spiders that Brand had summoned and quickly connected the dots to draw a conclusion.

Brand nodded. "That guard captain named Kulan personally led the guard team to drive the monsters back during the last incident. This time, he might recall his previous experience."

"Is this a good place to fight?" The red-haired girl shook her long ponytail and glanced up at the mine ceiling. "But aren’t you afraid of causing a cave-in?"

"A quick fight will do."

"But the opponent is Gold Middle Rank..."

"It’s tricky," Brand frowned. It was indeed a bit troublesome; the opponent was not a rookie but an experienced old swordsman who had entered the Golden Domain. "But we don’t have a better method for now."

The three suddenly stopped their conversation, hearing footsteps coming from the other side of the mine tunnel—the messy but unhurried steps of the guard patrolling team. However, among the noise, only Brand, with the highest level, heard a faint, almost imperceptible footstep among them.
