Amber Sword-Chapter 622: Scene 60 King of the Underground (11) (part 2)
"Lord?" Qian looked at Kulan, who was murmuring to himself, and asked softly with some doubt. ๐ฏ๐ง๐ฎ๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฃ๐๐๐๐ต.๐ฌ๐ธ๐
Brand shook his head, signaling her to stay calm. He thought this gate must have appeared suddenly, and perhaps it had some connection with those monsters.
Indeed, after a short moment, Kulan suddenly stopped and exclaimed, "There are words on the door!"
Everyone moved closer and indeed saw some strange inscriptions on the dark iron door. To be exact, they were words. Brand recognized those trapezoidal words and immediately said:
"Itโs the Dwarf Language."
"Dwarf Language?" The old man frowned and looked back, "How could there be Dwarf Language here? Tonyger has only Hill Dwarves, who donโt live underground."
"What about Gray Dwarves and Iron Dwarves?" Medisha asked.
Gray Dwarves and Iron Dwarves are both creatures living in the underground world. The former are close kin to the High Mountain Dwarves, while the latter are said to be descendants of the Rune Dwarves.
But Brand shook his head. Gray Dwarves and Iron Dwarves use the wedge-shaped script of Jogen Digan, not the trapezoidal script of the surface Dwarves.
In fact, the trapezoidal script is the orthodox Dwarf language; the wedge-shaped script was invented by the Dark Elves.
"Then who could it be?" the Silver Elf Princess asked.
Brand, connecting this to the Silver Heritage, suspected that this could be a branch of the disappeared Silver Clan. There are three branches of the Silver Bloodline among the dwarves: Storm Dwarves, Rune Dwarves, and Fire Dwarves.
Aside from the Fire Dwarves living in the Fire Elemental World, this heritage might belong to either of the other two branches.
Before he could speak, Qian tapped the Great Gate with the Thunder Gun, producing a light โdingโ in the darkness. She glanced at the door, which remained smooth as a mirror without a single mark, proving its unimaginable hardness.
She frowned and asked, "Lord, what does it say above?"
"I donโt know." Brand shook his head.
"Kid, didnโt you say itโs the Dwarf Language?" Kulan irritably raised his eyebrows, "How can you not know?"
"I just know what Dwarf characters look like," Brand thought to himself that this wasnโt Amber Room, where the system could automatically translate. Here, all he could do was stare blankly at these characters.
But he walked over and pressed his hand against the door, "However, I suspect this is a boundary."
"A boundary? A spell? An illusion?" The old manโs silver-gray eyebrows shot up, "Are there other people here underground?" He glanced at Brand suspiciously, "Are you sure itโs just you?"
Brand shook his head, "This boundary isnโt a spell; wizardsโ magic merely uses the laws of the world. However, in ancient times, boundaries were set by the Divine People themselves. These boundaries represent a law in themselvesโ"
Kulan hadnโt yet understood this, but Medishaโs eyes widened, "Ancient Heritage, Lord, do you mean thereโs a sanctuary behind this?"
"Not a holy land, but a sanctuary," Brand examined the Great Gate. The entrance to a holy land couldnโt be this small. Like the valley in the Land of the Elves, which could even accommodate two giant statuesโ
But if this place is just a sanctuary for storing Silver Heritage, then it makes sense.
The young man pressed his hand against the cold iron door, closing his eyes as if sensing the heavy history behind the door. He asked, "Medisha, what is the Ancient Heritage of the Silver Elves?"
The Silver Elf Princess was slightly stunned, then shook her head, "I donโt know; Iโve never been to the holy land. When the Saint War began, the Silver Elves had left the holy land ten generations ago; itโs said weโve lost the way backโ"
But Brand shook his head, "I fear itโs not like that. The Silver Elves should have retreated back into the holy land. What is your holy land called?"
"Holy Silver Valley."
Brand nodded, but Qian, puzzled, asked, "Lord, isnโt now a bad time to discuss this? Shouldnโt we first find a way to open this gate?"
"Iโm opening it," Brand replied.
"Huh?"
"To the Ancient Barrier, the gate is a symbol, symbolizing the entrance," Brand answered, "The meaning of the entrance lies in entering. If you just want to go to the other side of the mine, youโll certainly not be able to open this door."
"Enter? Enter where?" The red-haired girl was puzzled.
"Youโll find out soon enough."
Brand closed his eyes, thinking of โentering.โ Suddenly, everyone felt a darkness envelop them. Before panicked voices could emerge, light returned swiftlyโ
