Chapter 965: Chapter 386: Breaking Curtain Device!_3

After speaking, Lin Xian raised his hand, and from the Black Star Forge Space, there appeared three sets of Federation-standard tactical power armor used by the garrison.

"Put these on; firstly, to cover our tracks, and secondly, to avoid getting hurt."

"Alright." KIKI knew Lin Xian had thought everything through, so she and Shi Zhi immediately put on the power armor. All three sets were male designs, making KIKI and Shi Zhi look slightly oversized, but luckily, they had adaptable linings inside, allowing some adjustments, making it unnoticeable from the outside.

Whoosh!

At this moment, a sharp noise broke through the darkness of the distant passage. KIKI immediately used telekinesis to lift the three of them and pressed them against the edge of the tunnel to accelerate.

Soon, a bright light rushed towards them. KIKI gritted her teeth and charged suddenly, attaching all three of them to the side panel of a magnetic levitation transport vehicle. Lin Xian quickly realized it was an unmanned transport railcar, with neither personnel nor cargo onboard, speeding through the tunnel at an incredible pace.

Upon entering the railcar, KIKI activated the power armor’s map and discovered that the transport vehicle was indeed heading straight towards the Inner City without making any turns.

"No cargo? Could it be transporting something from within to the outside?"

"That’s possible," Lin Xian remarked. "City Wall No. 1 is currently fortifying for battle, and this should be a weapons and ammunition supply line. However, other possibilities cannot be ruled out..."

"The atmosphere down here...feels very heavy with darkness," Shi Zhi, who rarely spoke, suddenly said. "Much thicker than outside."

"Is it because of the darkness?" Lin Xian asked, frowning.

"I’m not certain, but it’s more than in other tunnels and dark areas."

Lin Xian lifted his head to look at the black passageway. In the underground project map provided by Zhou Jin, this underground network extended as far as the direction of Qilian Mountain and Peace City, and some areas connected with the underground transit tracks between cities. But under normal circumstances, they are all sealed off. Now, with Dawn City having its city subway track network locked down, where does this overwhelming aura of darkness originate?

A few minutes later, the maglev railcar seemed to decelerate. Lin Xian could see some lights appear in the tunnel, indicating from the map that they had entered the Inner City.

Realizing they were now in the internal area, Lin Xian instructed KIKI to help him and Shi Zhi disembark from the railcar. They proceeded to follow the walkway into a mechanized loading platform.

Instantly, an extraordinarily secret storage facility appeared before them. Countless drones and mechanical loading arms were loading ammunition boxes onto transport sequences of the railcars. Various types of weaponry, even large missiles, were being hoisted.

On the platform, about dozens of sentries were patrolling, all dressed in the same standard tactical power armor as Lin Xian and his group.

This was part of the reconnaissance done in Silent City, when Zhou Mingyuan and Wen Dong visited Mochizuki Masashi. During the visit, he had scanned the camouflage used by Zhou Mingyuan’s guards. Upon discovering the underground passage at the recruitment rally, Lin Xian commenced manufacturing this tactical power armor with the intent to infiltrate.

However, this was Lin Xian’s first infiltration mission. Facing those fully armed soldiers, he felt somewhat nervous. Just as Lin Xian was about to seize the opportunity to blend in, KIKI suddenly held him back.

"The garrison power armor has a recognition system; give me a moment." 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

Lin Xian was surprised, as he hadn’t considered this detail.

KIKI was swiftly operating on a mobile terminal. She quickly registered virtual signal codes onto their armor, matching with the signal profiles of the sentries on the platform, and then sighed in relief.

"All set."

"Are you sure?"

"Positive," KIKI said seriously. "If you’re worried, I can knock them all unconscious."

"Taking out these dozens, how do you deal with tens of thousands above?" Lin Xian replied somewhat speechlessly. He then straightened his back, mimicking the sentries by holding their pulse infantry combat rifles diagonally, and addressed KIKI and Shi Zhi: "Stick close to me."

"Okay," both replied simultaneously.

Lin Xian then took a deep breath and stepped out of the darkness alongside a patrolling squad. Shi Zhi, nervously trailing behind, was advised by Lin Xian to take bigger strides as he glanced back.

"Oh, yes... okay..."

Shi Zhi, being of smaller stature, found the male-designed power armor somewhat awkward. She attempted to take larger strides, appearing rather unusual externally.

However, as Lin Xian’s trio emerged, the other patrolling sentries appeared not to notice anything amiss. Whether it was KIKI’s recognition system doing its job or the chaos within the facility, it was uncertain.

Along the way, streams of soldiers continually rushed past the three, with busy figures everywhere, and not even a whisper exchanged. An air of intense suppression permeated the environment.

The three took an elevator all the way to the Star Port. No one detected anything anomalous along the journey, but as they neared the upper levels of the Star Port, there were notably fewer people. However, at the entrance to the Dawn City starport passage, an entire lineup of garrison armored troops stood guarding, indicating no entry was allowed.

"So many?" KIKI remarked in surprise.

"They are all guards for the Vanguard Plan. With the launch imminent, the Star Port must be on the highest defense alert," Lin Xian explained.

"So what do we do..."

Lin Xian used his mechanical superpower to move a surveillance device overhead out of the way, then stood aside, observing from a distance as a group of soldiers escorted a mechanical conveyance device containing some kind of shipboard equipment. Having a bright idea, he immediately instructed KIKI to knock the group unconscious with telekinesis, stashing them in a storage room. The three then copied their power armor codes and, taking the part of decoy transporters, moved the mechanical conveyance device through the passage.
