Apocalypse: I Have A Multiplier System-Chapter 500: Absorbing Powers
Chapter 500: Chapter 500: Absorbing Powers
"Jiyai!" Qin Feng caught her before she could hit the floor, his arms steady and strong.
Her head fell against his shoulder, her breath shallow and uneven.
He held her tightly, heart pounding. "Damn it... You pushed yourself too hard..."
Looking down at her pale face, now slightly flushed with warmth, he sighed.
There was so much she hadn’t said yet. So many questions between them.
"She’s safe now, but we’re not done yet," he muttered.
With careful movements, Qin Feng lifted her into his arms and carried her down the hallway toward his room.
He walked slowly, not because she was heavy, but because he didn’t want to jostle her. Not after everything she’d been through.
Once inside his room, he gently laid her on the bed.
Her blue hair fanned across the pillow, and her expression, though unconscious, was peaceful.
Her hands were no longer trembling. Her breathing had steadied.
Qin Feng sat down beside her, brushing a strand of hair away from her face.
"You idiot," he said softly, his tone more affectionate than angry.
"Why do you always take everything on alone?"
He stood up after a moment, glancing at the door.
Right. Qiang Zhi.
He’d almost forgotten. The guy had been left unconscious before the chaos started. He needed to check on him—make sure he was alright.
But first...
Qin Feng pulled out his communicator and dialed quickly.
"Xi Ping," he said when the signal connected. "I’ve got her. Boss Su’s safe. She’s with me now."
There was a pause on the other end, then a sigh of relief.
"You really got her back?" Xi Ping asked. "She’s okay?"
"She fainted," Qin Feng replied. "But yeah. She’s alive. Whatever she went through, it’s over—for now."
"I’ll be there in five minutes," Xi Ping said, voice firm.
The line was cut.
Qin Feng glanced back at Su Jiyai. Then placed his hand on her forehead. A green light from his hand traveled to Su Jiyai’s forehead, and the slight wounds on her hand and legs started to heal.
Once he was sure that no injuries had been left, he stood up.
"Rest, my baby." He softly muttered.
Soon reached Qiang Zhi’s room and used the same healing light that he had used on Su Jiyai.
When Qiang Zhi’s complexion turned from pale to rosy, he withdrew his hand and left.
Seeing Xi Ping standing outside his room, he walked up to her.
It was common knowledge to everyone that he didn’t like anyone to go into his room without permission.
No one other than Su Jiyai can enter there.
Xi Ping spotted and nodded at him,
"Has Boss Su returned to her room safely? Do you want me to summon a healer for her?"
"No need. I have taken care of it. And thank you so much for arriving on short notice. Once Boss Su wakes up, I will tell her about your help..."
Xi Ping waved her hand,
"No need. It is my duty."
Qin Feng frowned and didn’t comment, but Xi Ping could understand what he wanted to say. She said with a soft smile,
"You know, Boss Su took me in when no one was ready. Though she placed some conditions but she wasn’t like those blood sucking businessman.
She was always gentle. And even gave me the chance to take my revenge and get reunited with my brother. She had done so much for me... so even if it is not my working hours, I still work."
Xi Ping wasn’t lying. She knew her flaws.
Whoever she owed, she would pay back double, and to some extent, let them take advantage of her.
This was how her foster family had used her.
She was too loyal in simpler terms. But Boss Su never used her.
Qin Feng’s eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at Xi Ping.
He had been silent for a moment, letting her finish speaking. But when she was done, instead of softening, his expression grew sharper. Cold. Dismissive.
"Xi Ping," he said, voice low but clear, "I wasn’t asking why you’re working outside your shift."
Xi Ping blinked, slightly taken aback.
Qin Feng took a step closer, his tone growing colder. "I don’t care if you work twenty-four hours a day or none at all. That’s your decision. But Boss Su—she’s my responsibility."
Xi Ping frowned. "What are you talking about?"
"I mean," he said, looking at her like she was a child who couldn’t understand basic logic, "I don’t need your overtime. I don’t need your help. I don’t need anyone else trying to save or protect her. That’s my job. Not yours."
Xi Ping’s face twisted with disbelief. "Are you serious right now?"
Qin Feng crossed his arms. "Dead serious."
There was a beat of silence.
Xi Ping narrowed her eyes. "You wanna fight or something?"
Qin Feng didn’t answer with words. He simply stared at her with disdain, his lips curling ever so slightly.
Then he said calmly, "No. I just need your blood."
Xi Ping stared.
"What did you just say?"
Qin Feng took one step back and raised his hand, forming a challenge seal.
"I challenge you to a duel."
"YOU WHAT?!"
Before she could even prepare herself, the world blurred.
In a blink, Qin Feng vanished—and reappeared behind her.
A single strike.
A sudden burst of force hit Xi Ping square in the back, knocking the wind out of her.
Her eyes widened in shock as she flew forward and slammed into the wall.
She gasped, blood spraying from her lips as she collapsed to her knees.
"One move..." she whispered, dazed. "You... actually used one move..."
Qin Feng calmly walked over, crouched, and held her chin.
"You’ll survive," he muttered, took a single drop of blood with a flick of his finger.
The moment it touched his palm, his eyes glowed faintly.
Inside his body, a surge of unfamiliar power flooded his veins—four new forces awakening in sync, blending with his own.
All of Xi Ping’s powers would be duplicated by him.
Because he didn’t have Xi Ping’s superpower, he almost lost Su Jiyai today.
He stood up and nodded once.
"Thanks," he said plainly, turned around, and walked back to his room.
Xi Ping, still on her knees, held her ribs and coughed again.
She wiped the blood from her mouth and glared at the door he disappeared into.
"What the hell is wrong with that guy?" she muttered. "Freakin’ weirdo..."
She shook her head and walked away slowly, still confused and bruised, completely unaware that Qin Feng had just duplicated all her powers.
....................
Inside the room, Qin Feng shut the door quietly.
The world seemed to slow down once more as his gaze fell on the sleeping girl on his bed.
Su Jiyai hadn’t moved since he left. Her breathing was still calm.
Her pale blue hair shimmered slightly in the soft light. Her fingers twitched once in her sleep, but nothing more.
Qin Feng walked over, knelt beside her, and gently placed his hand on hers.
"I got stronger," he whispered. "Now I can protect you better."
He watched her face for a long time. Then finally sat down in the chair next to the bed and closed his eyes.
..............
A week passed.
During that time, Qin Feng barely left her side. He only went out to train, patrol, or cultivate.
And each time, he came back fast—just in case she woke up and needed him.
Xi Ping didn’t return to his room again. She was still salty—and maybe a little scared.
But she didn’t report him. She didn’t say anything.
..............
On the seventh day, as the sun rose and light spilled into the room, a small sound broke the silence.
"...Mmm..."
Qin Feng’s eyes snapped open.
He leaned forward instantly.
Su Jiyai’s fingers curled slightly.
Her eyelids fluttered.
And then, slowly... she opened her eyes.
Her crimson gaze was faint, slightly dazed, but full of life.
"...Qin... Feng?"
Her voice was soft. Dry.
He smiled, relief pouring into his chest like rain after a drought.
"You’re awake," he said gently.
She blinked again, confused. "How long...?"
"A week," he replied.
Her eyebrows creased. "Did I... faint?"
"You did. Right after we returned."
Su Jiyai stared at him, then at the room, slowly realizing she was lying in his bed.
Qin Feng then gave her a glass of water, and after drinking it, Su Jiyai went to freshen up.
As much as she wanted to confront Qin Feng, her cleanliness mattered the most.
Once outside, Qin Feng looked over and saw Su Jiyai wearing one of his t-shirts.
In an instant, Qin Feng lost control. Something inside him snapped. Though he didn’t want to admit it, he not only felt attracted to Su Jiyai mentally but also physically.
He walked up to her and cupped her face. In a soft voice, he muttered,
"Baby, forgive me for being rude. If I held it in anymore, I might as well explode in my pants."
And with that, his lips crashed into hers.
