Chapter 501: Chapter 501: Twin Brother?

Su Jiyai stiffened the moment Qin Feng’s lips touched hers.

Her eyes widened in shock, frozen like a statue. Her mind blanked.

Qin Feng, on the other hand, was too far gone to notice the panic blooming in her eyes. His hands were warm against her face, but his actions—too sudden, too raw—left her breathless, not in a good way.

After a second that felt like forever, she shoved him back with both hands.

Qin Feng stumbled a step, blinking in surprise.

"W-What are you doing?!" Su Jiyai gasped, her face flushed red—not from affection, but from anger and confusion.

She wiped her lips quickly, breathing hard, her body shaking. "What the hell, Qin Feng?!"

He stared at her, frozen.

"I..." he started, voice low and rough, "I couldn’t hold it anymore. I thought—"

"You thought what?" she snapped, backing away. "That’s because I was wearing your shirt, I wanted this?"

"No," he said quickly, taking a step forward, "Jiyai, it’s not like that—"

"Don’t call me that!" she shouted, pointing at him. "You kissed me without asking! That’s not okay!"

Qin Feng’s face turned pale.

Qin Feng’s face turned pale. His lips parted like he was about to say something—an apology, a reason, anything.

But before he could speak, Su Jiyai suddenly let out a short laugh.

Qin Feng froze, completely confused.

She covered her mouth, giggling. "You should’ve seen your face."

"What...?" Qin Feng blinked. "You... you were kidding?"

She grinned and waved her hand. "Yeah. I mean, I was surprised, and yeah, you were being dumb—but I wasn’t that mad."

Qin Feng stood rooted to the floor, jaw slightly dropped. "You... were messing with me?"

"Mhm." She smiled wider, then walked up to him, her steps slow and smooth. "Don’t look so scared."

He didn’t even blink as she came close and wrapped her arms around his waist, resting her head lightly against his chest.

Her voice dropped to a softer, more serious tone. "But I was a little upset... not because you kissed me."

Qin Feng held his breath.

"But because..." She leaned back and looked him in the eye. "You didn’t even give me a chance to kiss you first."

Before he could react, she tiptoed up and closed the distance between them, pressing her lips to his gently.

Qin Feng’s eyes widened again—but this time, he didn’t pull away.

He kissed her back.

There was something slow and careful about it, like they were learning each other’s pace for the first time.

Her hands slid to his shoulders, and his arms slowly moved around her waist.

Time seemed to melt.

The air between them was warm. Soft. A little dizzying.

But then, just as Su Jiyai’s hands moved to tug at the hem of Qin Feng’s shirt, he quickly grabbed her wrists and gently pulled them away.

"Wait," he said quietly.

Su Jiyai looked at him, puzzled. "What’s wrong?"

Qin Feng looked away, his cheeks flushed. "I... I’m not ready yet."

She blinked, taken aback. "You’re not?"

He nodded, his grip still soft but firm. "Earlier, when you pushed me away, I thought I’d... ruined everything. It scared me."

The playful glow in Su Jiyai’s eyes disappeared instantly. "Qin Feng... I’m so sorry," she said, her voice full of guilt. "I didn’t mean to take it that far with the joke—"

But before she could say anything more, Qin Feng turned back to her with a totally serious expression.

"Yeah. I’m truly hurt," he said flatly.

Her mouth opened. "I—what?"

"I don’t know if I’ll ever recover," he added dramatically, looking into the distance like some tragic hero.

She stared at him.

Then his lips twitched.

And he burst out laughing.

Su Jiyai narrowed her eyes. "You PRANKED me?"

He nodded, still laughing. "Now we’re even."

"That wasn’t funny," she muttered and turned away, walking over to the bed and flopping down with her arms crossed like an annoyed cat.

Qin Feng followed her and sat down beside her.

"I’m sorry," he said sincerely this time. "Really. I shouldn’t have kissed you without asking. It was a mistake. I just... I didn’t think. I was scared. And overwhelmed."

She didn’t reply right away, but her arms slowly loosened.

He leaned closer, wrapping his arms around her shoulders from the side and resting his head on hers.

"I promise I’ll never do anything like that again without your permission. Okay?"

Su Jiyai sighed and leaned into his hug.

"Okay," she said softly.

Su Jiyai stayed quiet for a moment longer, her head resting against Qin Feng’s shoulder, their breaths slowly syncing.

Then, like a switch flipped in her mind, she tilted her head up to look at him.

"Hey... can I ask you something?"

Qin Feng glanced down, brushing a strand of hair away from her face. "Of course."

She sat up straighter, crossing her legs and facing him seriously. "How do you know about... the system?"

Qin Feng blinked, a bit surprised, then let out a small sigh.

"I figured you’d ask that sooner or later."

"Well?" she nudged, eyes narrowing with curiosity. "Start talking."

He scratched the back of his neck, then looked away for a moment, gathering his thoughts.

He told how he got in Lin’s body.

Su Jiyai nodded slowly.

"At that time, I didn’t know who you really were. I thought... Boss Su was just some mysterious businessman. I never once imagined that you—Su Jiyai—were Boss Su."

Su Jiyai raised an eyebrow. "I am pretty good at keeping my identities separate."

Qin Feng chuckled. "Yeah, no kidding."

Then his expression grew more thoughtful.

"You see... I have this ability. I don’t use it often, but... I can leave my body. Like, my soul can detach. I don’t know how to explain it well, but when I do that, I can go anywhere. Like a ghost."

Su Jiyai’s eyes widened slightly. "You... have soul projection?"

Qin Feng nodded.

"Something like that. Anyway, one night I was just... drifting around. I couldn’t sleep, and I was still in Lin’s body. I decided to explore the building."

"And?"

"And I went downstairs. That’s when I found the underground room. The one where you live."

Su Jiyai stiffened a little. "You spied on me?"

He held up both hands defensively.

"Not on purpose! At first, I was just curious—then I saw you. Not just as Su Jiyai, but as Boss Su. I was shocked."

Su Jiyai gave him a side-eye. "So you’re saying I blew your mind?"

"Totally," he said without hesitation.

She snorted but motioned for him to go on.

"After that," Qin Feng continued,

"I kept watching. Not in a creepy way—okay, maybe a little creepy—but I wanted to understand.

Every day, I followed you. I saw how hard you worked, how much you hid, how carefully you planned things."

He paused, his gaze softening. "That’s when I started to... really admire you."

Su Jiyai blinked.

"And the system?" she asked quietly.

"Ah, right," he nodded. "I didn’t understand what it was at first. But one day, I was holding your hand—when you were in the room, I heard it."

"Heard?"

"A voice. Talking to you. Saying things like ’Mission complete’ and ’Reward granted.’ It wasn’t yours. It wasn’t mine. It just... echoed in my head."

Su Jiyai’s lips parted in surprise.

"And every time I touched you after that," he added, "especially when I held you for a while... I heard it again. The system gives you updates, stats, and mission logs. That’s how I realized—whatever this thing is, it’s connected to you."

Su Jiyai stared at him, stunned.

"You really... figured it all out by yourself?"

He gave a half-smile. "Not all of it. But yeah, enough to know there’s way more to you than anyone sees."

She sat in silence for a moment, processing everything.

Then, she leaned back slightly, looking at him with something between awe and disbelief.

"Twin..." she murmured, "you’re truly amazing."

Qin Feng blinked. "Twin?"

She smiled.

"You’ve been in my shadow this whole time... and still managed to uncover what even my team doesn’t know. You’re like my long-lost twin detective brother."

Qin Feng frowned, crossing his arms. "I don’t want to be your brother, though."

Su Jiyai blinked, then let out a soft laugh. "Aw, what’s wrong with being my long-lost twin detective brother?"

"I’d rather be something else," he muttered, avoiding her gaze.

She chuckled again, clearly amused. "Like what? My long-lost twin... cousin?"

Before Qin Feng could answer, the door creaked open.

A small voice called out, "Which brother?"

Both of them froze and snapped their heads toward the doorway.

Sure enough, standing there with his hands on his hips like a tiny general, was Qiang Zhi—Su Jiyai’s little brother.

His big, round eyes were staring at them suspiciously, and his cheeks were puffed slightly like he was preparing to scold someone.

Su Jiyai’s face instantly softened.

"Qiang Zhi!" she called warmly, motioning with her hand. "Come here."

Without wasting a second, Qiang Zhi bolted into the room and threw himself into Su Jiyai’s open arms, hugging her tightly.
