Apocalypse: Reborn with a Soul Sync Farming Space System-Chapter 28 Space Water
It was already early evening, and Laurel watched as the men offloaded the goods from their trucks into the warehouse. She didn’t show herself, as she didn’t want to draw any attention.
She sat on the ground, resting her back against the wall. Currently, with the way things are going, she might really be able to change her fate this time.
Her hand caressed the yin-yang necklace on her neck. She had lost it during the past apocalypse, no matter how much she tried to find it, it seemed to have disappeared into thin air.
She never imagined the necklace could grant her such an advantage.
She scanned her surroundings, when she was sure no one was coming, she vanished into the system’s space.
She stood in front of the house, and Ling Xuan wasn’t outside. She made her way inside, only to hear a pleading sound.
"Master Ling Xuan, you have been practicing for so long. I can’t take it anymore." Lou’s cry echoed across the room.
Laurel’s heart skittered in her chest, when she found Lou hung to the wall, with arrows lodged in the space beside it, narrowly missing it.
Laurel didn’t know if she should save the poor Lou or if she should turn around and pretend she never saw it.
Before Laurel could decide what to do, Lou’s voice rang out again, this time desperate. "Master Laurel, save me."
Ling Xuan turned to her, glaring daggers at her, as if warning Laurel not to interrupt her.
Ling Xuan’s hand tightened around the bow she was holding. "Talk too much, and I might lose focus." She pulled the bow’s string. "Who knows? I might hit your eyes, chest, or maybe your mouth." She said coldly, her lips tugging up into a devious smirk.
Laurel quickly looked away, touching the vase in the sitting room as if they were intriguing, and she couldn’t help but admire them.
’What if I help it, and then she decides I’m the next target?’ Laurel imagined herself being tied to the wall with an apple stuck in her mouth, in front of her was Ling Xuan in black attire like a demon Chinese assassin, pulling the arrow at her.
She shook her head and decided to pray for Lou’s spirit to rest in peace, in case Lou didn’t make it.
"Master Ling Xuan, spare me!" Lou cried as another arrow shot straight towards it.
Ling Xuan clicked her tongue in distaste. "You talk too much."
She pulled the strings of the bow tightly, placing 3 arrows at the same time. As she was about to release them, Laurel rushed forward, unable to ignore it anymore.
"Sister Ling Xuan." She called innocently. She inwardly prayed, Ling Xuan would like the way she called her.
"Sister?" Ling Xuan asked with a slightly raised brow.
"Yes. You are my big sister." Laurel smiled nervously. "Sister, why don’t you come with me to check what we can buy with the points we have... maybe the system might have something you are interested in." Laurel quickly improvised.
Ling Xuan stared as if she were contemplating her suggestion. After a short while, she sighed. "You are right. We should go check it out."
Before Laurel and Lou could breathe out in relief, Ling Xuan released the arrows.
The three arrows flew with precision, time seemed to slow down, and Lou’s eyes widened in fear. The arrows landed above its head, cutting the ropes binding its hands to the wall, and the other two arrows landed on its legs, also cutting through the ropes without touching Lou.
Lou shouted as it fell on the ground with its face kissing the floor.
Laurel opened her mouth in awe and fear. She slowly raised her hand, giving Ling Xuan a thumbs-up.
"Sister Ling Xuan, can you teach me how to shoot an arrow as you do?" Laurel asked, a little nervous as she didn’t know if Ling Xuan would teach her.
She didn’t want to be as weak as she was in her past life, depending on people to protect and defend her, whenever they were in battle. This time, she wanted to be strong enough to depend on her own capabilities.
Ling Xuan glanced over her shoulder, "You have to show me how badly you want it. After all, learning from a general like me is your greatest fortune." She said nonchalantly, as she placed the bow and arrow in a transparent glass.
"And how can I show you?" Laurel asked, a little confused.
"Training." Ling Xuan replied curtly.
"Oh, I see. I will train diligently from now on, sister Ling Xuan." Laurel said with full conviction.
Inwardly she was grinning, after all, there wasn’t anyone who didn’t like being called with respect. At least, now she is a little approachable to talk to.
"System," Laurel called out. "We want to know how many points we have."
[Total points: 650]
[Would hosts like to see the upgrade in the basic information?]
Laurel glanced at Ling Xuan, when she saw Ling Xuan remained stoic, she turned to the system. "Yes."
Knowing more about their information could come in handy in the future.

Ling Xuan’s eyes narrowed dangerously. "System, are you saying my intelligence combined with Laurel’s is just 20?" Her hands tightened into a fist.
Laurel felt her blood boiling, the insult was too much. If the system bases the intelligence on Ling Xuan’s knowledge she would have accepted it slightly, after all she came from the Chinese dynasty.
But to combine hers with Ling Xuan’s and only amount to 20, she felt the insult more. She attended one of the best universities, and she lived two lives. This... this was unfair.
[Mission 005: Harvest crops in 2 days.
The planted crops must be harvested in two days.
Reward: 500 points

Failure will bring a penalty of 1000 points, and the missions will be suspended for 48 hours.
Time: 48:00:00]
"Did you just ignore me?" Ling Xuan’s anger almost tore through the ceiling.
"What?! Two days to harvest crops that were planted today?!" Laurel shouted, her body trembling with annoyance and disbelief.
[Hosts’ intelligence is referred to as their farming intelligence.
As for the mission. Hosts were granted a barrel of water. Space water accelerates crop growth in the outside world by x10. However, it is very scarce and expensive]
"So it’s cheating..." Laurel muttered in bewilderment.
"That explains it, I know I’m intelligent." Ling Xuan’s face went back to normal, like she wasn’t angry a second ago.
